  1. Even though the CPU comes with a stock cooler, I would highly recommend another cooler from the market. As discussed over many threads, AMD precision boost will make your CPU run HAWT while running fast. Just something to consider. Things like a Noctua D15, or a beQueit! Dark Rock Pro 4 (Both are silent AF if you want to focus on the computer being silent when making your musics) are nice options. As for the build itself, it looks good to me. Maybe get a dedicated DAC if you already haven't, but if you are into sound production I assume you have one on hand.
  2. Well, if you just got the parts you should use them and see if you like what you have. Get some games and see if your GPU can play those games at 1080p 144hz. Games like PUBG, R6, LOL, and CSGO tend to have high fps (esports titles), but if you play games that are AAA titles, you might not get the performance you want. In that case, then look towards an upgrade!
  3. I always recommend Fractal Design Cases as they are pretty multi-purpose in regards to whether you decide to air cool or water cool. The Define S or S2 have alot of room for pumps and tubes alike. As for the parts, Corsair released their Custom loop set so you can look at that. There are other brands like EK as well but they tend to be pricey. GL!
  4. I recommend looking at pcpartpicker for some prices around your area and online as a starting point (it also helps seeing if parts are compatible to a degree). However, there are a couple of questions you need to answer. How long do you want to keep the computer for? How much are you willing to spend? What are you expecting out of this computer? (ie: 1080p 60hz, 1080p 144hz, 1440p 60fps, etc) Technology is evolving at a fast pace, but a good way to stay up to date is to watch TechQuickie or shows like that once in a while.
  5. Something to note is that some nvidia GPUs can use freesync. So if your gpu supports it, you can get the Aorus. As for some other things to look at between the 2 monitors, the Asus monitor has a gray to gray of 4ms while the Aorus has 1ms. However, the Asus can run at 165hz (probably with back light bleeding), while the Aorus runs with 144hz.
  6. I own those fans, and I can say that they are relatively quiet. They can be near silent if you decide to connect them to a controller and use a fan curve. If you decide to have a total of 3 fans, the case fans have wide blades, so they will help with moving air through the mesh (aka good with static pressure), and I would recommend a fan with a focus on airflow for you exhaust.
  7. check that your CPU cooler is on correctly.with your specs, there is no real reason for why your CPU is at is hitting 100C and for why your frames are bad in games.
  8. @SmithOCE I hate to break it to you, but the i7 6700k is a 4 CORE and 8 THREAD CPU. But even then, it's a great CPU to have. What cooler do you have? The GPU might have some problems with the drivers or something. Did you try the normal troubleshooting? Such as updating drivers, or do you have the game running on the discrete GPU and not the integrated?
  9. So with the upgrade, I am looking at a monitor change as well huh.
  10. Thanks! I'll wait for your confirmation then I'll order the parts.
  11. So I have decided to upgrade from a GTX 970 to an RTX2060super, but the ports on the cards do not have a Dual DVI which is what my Asus VG248QE is currently using. Should I grab an HDMI 2.0 or some sort of DisplayPort cable? I would like to use the 1080p 144hz capabilities of the monitor.
  12. If you can I would wait for new components to grab. A lot of people are upgrading to the new Ryzen gen 3 so there will be a lot of discounted hardware all over the place. However, the upgrade to the i7 2600 would not be a bad upgrade. The build would be able to do 1080p60 fine.
  13. I would look into the CAS latency for your ram. Apparently, Ryzen works better with RAM that has low latency and high speed. I am sure that LTT did a video on that. Also, I think that the CPU cooler will fit unless you are planning to use the Chromax covers on the NH-D15 as well.
