  1. Hey guys, long time LTT YT subscriber and fan here. Ive got a video idea/pitch for ya. So I dont know about you but I take long showers and thats because i take my phone in with me. And i do all kinds of stuff with it. Probably a lot of the same stuff you do with your phone in the morning. Read up on current events via your fav appropriate app. Catch up on social media instagram/FB/Twitter/etc. Watch YT videos from your favorite content creators. Now before phones were as good as they are today with their long battery life. Large HD displays and quick charge abilities I actually had a dedicated "shower tablet" the original Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1. And I would put it in a gallon sized zipblock bag and then hang that bag on the wall of the shower via 2 binder clips hanging from 2 3M command hooks on the dry wall above the shower wall. And this worked great. I worked in cell phones at the time So I spent shower time reading up on the latest cell phone tech via the BGR app and Phonoscope. I caught up on work emails via Outlook looked at that days work schedule. I could also keep an eye on my new dog at the time on my Belkin Netcam one of the 1st smart cameras. And of course Youtube and Netflix. But i also streamed my cable via a slingbox. So thats why when Linus released I got really excited. However this is a little overkill for my situation. A. I dont take bathes. B. I dont really game in the shower. HOWEVER i have played forbite with my phone mounted in a RAZR Kishi and earbuds before. However, I think with mobile gaming and game streaming i think there is a great way to get best of both worlds. This is my shower I always dreamed of cutting a hole in the wall of the shower and then mounting one of those giant 12 inch Samsung tablets (I originally had this idea when the 1st one the Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro 12.2 came out in 2014) But now would be the Tab S8+ or even the 14in Ultra. You could even route power out the side of the shower wall. You ccould streme games via Google Stadia or Playstation Remote Play etc Play mobile games DO social media Watch YT, Netflix, Hulu etc etc etc etc etc etc etc Stream and control music via APPs BUTTTT with where smart stuff is theses days you can do so much more that you always have found yourself caught always needing like Answering the door (now you can via your fav doorbell cam and a "Shower Tablet" Answer the phone or now adays attend a ZOOM meeting in the shower Keep an eye on the kids via smart cameras Possibilities are endless.
  2. Nice thank you for the replay. I ended up just putting my R6700 into AP mode. I recently upgraded (as did the owner of the 6900) to this Nighthawk router. Me and the other person both owned old ass N600 routers. The AP mode on the Nighthawks is way better then on the N600 much more advanced. So i just went with that it solved all the problems. BTW i found the 6700 and 6900 for $35 and $40 SCORE!!
  3. Ok so I am hoping someone on here is a networking expert and can help me with this little conundrum. Ok so here is my setup. Comcast cable coming into house (Modem) Modem connected to Netgear R6900 ---> eithernet to gigabit switch. Gigabit switch going to various room in the house. Now i moved into this house (renting a room) and have a Netgear R6700. I plugged my R6700 into the wall. So now in my room i have a separate network (I believe this is called a subnet????) (Now i know i could just change my router to AP mode and it will fix my problems but i didnt feel like reconfirming my phone and wemo's nvidia shield (which runs a Plex Server) etc etc to their SSID. (Even though at this point probably would of been faster but now i want to know if this is possible) Ok so heres is what i want to do. I have a 6TB HD connected to my shield on R6700 network that i can access from my main computer (which i use to copy movie files to the HD) I would like the devices (Nvidia shields and Computers) on the R6900 network to be able to access my 6TB Harddrive on the 6700 network. The routers are connected to each other so i think its possible????
  4. Been watching A LOT of LTT laity. And it never ever really occurred to me to check things like Craigslist or Facebook market place for SMOKING GOOD DEALS!!!!. After watching some LTT on networking and realizing i STILL to this day did not have gigabit either-net because i was using the bottom of the line Netgear N600 router. I hopped on FB Marketplace and CL.com and found/got a Netgear R6700 Nighthawk!!!! for $35!!!!!! I went from 1hr 20min to transfer 32GB Avengers Endgame 4K HDR file from my system to my Nvidia Shield Plex Server to 13min!!!!!
  5. I have had this rig since 2014. I just recently started to really see what it can do. For some reason EVGA X1 says im only using about 88% of the GPU. (Is that because its in SLi?) Ive got the system run really really stable (even more stable now then it was with the previous more modest 4.27 kinda stock OC i had it on before) Im pretty happy with these numbers for what this system is. Benchmark: Fire Strike CPU: 4770k 3.5GHz running @ 4.5GHz GPU:EVGA Superclocked GTX 760 2G GPU Core:1228Mhz GPU Memory:3105Mhz Score: 10403 3DMark Link: https://www.3dmark.com/3dm/38122978?
  6. Thank you. Big fan of MCU and The Office
  7. Hello everyone Im new to the forums. I didn't see an official "introduce yourself" section so i thought what better way then with my rig yeah? So i originally bought all the parts for this rig off Newegg.com back in 2014 to build a "Hackintosh" after watching MKBHD's YouTube series on his Hackintosh. I believe most of the parts were off a build guide on Tonymac86.com Case:Cooler Master HAF 932 Advanced (actually already had this from previous build) Motherboard: GIGABYTE GA-Z87X-OC CPU: Intel Core i7-4770K Haswell Quad-Core 3.5 GHz (currently running at 4.5Ghz more on that below) GPU: EVGA SuperClocked 02G-P4-2765-KR G-SYNC Support GeForce GTX 760 2GB (I have 2 of these running in Sli) RAM: CORSAIR Vengeance LP 16GB (2 x 8GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 PSU: Antec EarthWatts EA750 750W Continuous Power ATX12V version 2.3 SLI Certified CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS Certified Cooling: CORSAIR Hydro Series H100i System HHD: WD Blue 7200RPM (SSD's were pretty expensive back when i bought the parts. And just haven't bothered to get one since.) Keybored: RAZER Ornata Chroma (I just recently got this though) Mouse: Logitch M510 Displays: Acer G6 Series G246HL Black 24" TN 5ms (GTG) 60 Hz (2x) (Honestly didnt really know much about displays at the time and these were on sale i think.) Sound: Logitech ZX2300 (Suuuuuper OG speakers) So I built the Hackintosh and got it running. The MB had built in OC buttons one labled "Turbo" from what i understood at the time was if you pressed it not only did it light up "Turbo" which was badass but it read what CPU you had and picked a profile it thought was best. The one it chose was 4.27Ghz. And it ran pretty stable so i left it. Ran it like that for years. Heres a video on Youtube i did of it compared to a 4 and 8 core Mac Pro as well as another Hackintosh But ot got a 854cb on Cinibench (i think it was v14) Dont judge lol. Recently (like a month ago) i decided i wanted to go back to Windows 10 so i redid the system with Windows on it and got a cool RGB keybored. Now ive always known about LTT on YouTube but like as of a few days ago YouTube was really pushing his videos on me so i started watching a ton of them. I saw he ran Cinibench a lot so i was curious what my OG now Windows machine got. It was 1560cb (with the MB's "Turbo" 4.27Ghz setting) Then i started watching the scrapyard wars and that got me thinking. I wonder what i could really get my system to do (since the parts im running could very well be in a scrapyard video in 2019 lol) So i watched some more LTT on OCing he even had one on the 4770k I also hooked up the RGB on the H100i (Since i didnt bother on the Mac since i didnt work) Also did a bios update ( was 4 versions behind) And ive gotten it OCed stable at 4.5Ghz so far 30ºC at idle @768mhz-1.2ghz) and 80-82º @4.5ghz Cinibench score of 1965cb !!! Anyways i felt pretty proud for making the most of my rig let me know what you guys think. I attached some pics of it currently. Ill post some inside case pics later if you guys want.
