  1. At the time I sold the account, I was unaware of the fact that it was against their Terms of Service. I became aware of that after discussing the situation depicted in this thread with some friends of mine. As for the quote you originally responded to, I am aware of the reasons that companies would make it against their rules, and my intention was not to downplay that, so I appreciate you pointing that out. I was saying that from a selfish perspective, as we were discussing what that meant for me, and not what it meant for ROBLOX as a company
  2. Get annoyed about the fact they need to document it. If it becomes a bigger deal, the documentation could be useful in court and they could get a search warrant for discord to get his IP, then contact his ISP and get the address associated with the account, figure out who he is, and that could be useful. Obviously we're not to that point yet, but I would assume it's still worth contacting them now just in case.
  3. Yeah, it's definitely against the ROBLOX TOS, but like you said, that's not a big deal. I appreciate the advice!
  4. I apologize, I didn't realize I was misusing the word "Dox" and I will edit the original post such that the revision will reflect improvements in the wording. I certainly didn't expect much from the ROBLOX community, but I didn't necessarily expect them to get a hold of my bosses phone number from a screenshot on my phone and tell them I scammed them. I haven't gotten fired and I don't expect to, but my boss knows about the situation, which certainly isn't desirable. With the information this guy has, I'm scared as to what he can do.
  5. Ah, I see. So even though Texas Instruments manufactured it, it's still an Arm Cortex-9, and thus works on Linux Distros designed to run on Arm processors?
  6. This guy has a lot of information on me and is threatening to doxx me. I've never been in this situation before and I don't know how to respond to it. I posted this thread in hopes I could get advice on how to respond to a situation like this.
  7. The site I got it from listed the processor as a "OMAP 4430 Dual Core", which to my knowledge, is not an ARM processor, but a processor developed by Texas Instruments. Am I wrong?
  8. I'm not sure if this is the right subforum for this, so if this doesn't belong here, let me know and I'll delete this topic and repost in Off Topic. I recently ran into financial hardships and decided to sell my old ROBLOX account. As a youngster, I used to spend a lot of time and money on ROBLOX, and so my account became somewhat valuable. But now that I'm older, I've outgrown ROBLOX, so I decided to sell my account. I joined a Discord server that advertised itself as a ROBLOX marketplace and found people interested in buying my account rather quickly. I sold my account for $50, and everything seemed like it was going well until about a week later. I guess the buyer had done some "secretive stuff" and ROBLOX has a system that reset the email account to my email, and he needed me to reset the password. I did that for him, gave him the new password, and figured what he did with the account was his business and didn't think too much of it. Then about a week later, he says he lost the password and accused me of stealing the account back. I didn't steal the account. I told him this, and he accused me of lying. Here are the chatlogs Also, I gave him the account info for the email associated with the account. Basically we argued a bunch until this happened: Whoever hacked the account had changed the phone number on the account so I wasn't getting a code. I tried sending it again a few times hoping it would come, and it never did. Then I saw he sent me a message with my full name that he got from when he payed me with Paypal. I have a unique name and searching it on google gives the name of the town I live in as I show up on honor roll documents posted publicly from high school. He also has my address from the Paypal Transaction. That's when I started to get scared. After that screenshot, he sent me more information and threatened to release information without my consent multiple times. I offered to refund him, he refused. I also sent him a screenshot. I accidentally forgot to censor the phone number to two of my contacts in the screenshot I sent him proving I didn't get the code. He later texted them and slandered me. After I sent the screenshot: I sent the password in the group chat. He had a friend of his pay for it, and that friend was the other guy in the group chat. That's the last message I got from the guy He has a lot of my information and I'm really scared he could do some damage. What should I do??
  9. Thank you so much for linking me this article! I learned some very important things, including: 1) Every android smartphone or tablet contains a Linux kernel So theoretically, that means I can run every version of Linux, correct? 2) Android doesn't use the standard Linux kernel So that means I might not be able to run every version of Linux? So I appreciate the information, but I'm not sure if this will help me too much. What versions of Linux can I run on my tablet instead of android?
  10. This post is an extension of my previous post All apps keep crashing even after factory reset?? so feel free to read through that for context. I created a new thread because I learned from FakeCIA on my previous post that my only real option would be to install another operating system, likely another Linux distro, but I'm not sure what operating system I should use, or even what would be compatible with my tablet! Since it's evident I can't run android on this tablet anymore (correct me if I'm wrong), where can I find out what other operating systems are compatible with my tablet? It is my understanding that different processors and architectures are only compatible with certain operating systems. I thought that Linux typically only ran on X86 processors. How do I know which versions of linux will run on my tablet? Device information: Getac Z710 Android 4.1.1 Baseband version: REVISION 03.001 Kernel version: 3.0.31-00039-g736f4d4 z710sys@cruiser #1 SMP PREEMPT Mon Dec 7 14:50:25 CST 2015 Build number: JR003L Image version: G3.001.42.MU3 RAM size: 1024 MB
  11. I'm pretty loyal to Getac compared to other rugged manufacturers like Dell, Panasonic, and CAT just based on past experiences. If I get a newer one, it would be a Getac just because of that. I actually looked for a newer tablet before I bought this one, and the only one I found that ran android stock was the Getac ZX70. The rest of their tablets ran a version of Windows. Since I already spent the money on this tablet, I would like to at least see if I can get more life out of it before I look into buying a new one. If I find out I'm completely screwed, I'm fine with looking into maybe upgrading to a ZX70, but I spent quite a pretty penny on this tablet, and I want to get some use out of it. 13. I'm also using this tablet for my works application, and my work requires me to only have devices with the ATEX Zone II/22 certification, and the Getac is the only brand that offers a tablet rugged enough for me to use at work while also offering this certification. That's why I'm so against getting another device and am looking for a way to bring more life into this device. Are those Linux Distros you mentioned compatible with my hardware in its current state?
  14. I would rather not replace it, I just want to get the most life out of this as possible. If I wanted to put a different OS on it to get more life out of it, what OS should I put on it, and how do I install it?
  15. It appears my tablet is no longer supported for security and app functionality. Is it possible to manually install a newer version of android? Could I load a new OS on a flash drive and install it on the tablet via the USB port?
  16. It's the only Getac branded tablet under $1,000 that runs any version of android stock. The Getac ZX70 is the other one, but it's even more expensive. I'd much rather upgrade my version of android or somehow fix the issue than return it.
  17. Also, could I install an OS other than android that might bring more life to the tablet?
  18. This particular tablet is extremely valuable. Getac does make one newer tablet (Getac ZX70) but they tend to cost in excess of $1,100 so if there is a way to fix it on this tablet, or to upgrade the OS, that would be awesome. In addition, if it's just that it's too old, why would the problem persist after a factory reset and then not connecting it to the internet? This particular tablet cost me $500. I just got this tablet last week.
  19. I currently own a Getac Z710. Ever since I got it, I've experienced frequent app crashes. I can't seem to find a single app that doesn't crash. Google play crashes, youtube crashes, chrome crashes, opera mini crashes, google crashes, the internal fucking gallary crashes, etc. I've tried everything I can think of. Clearing the cache and data of all apps, factory resetting the device, etc. In fact, I thought that maybe it's just too old of a device to handle running up to date apps, so I factory reset it and didn't connect it to the internet hoping it wouldn't experience app crashes, but all of the internal apps still crashed as I setup the device offline. Below is a link to an unlisted youtube video showing what the app crashes look like. There's no error message what so ever. They all just crash shortly after I open them (except for spotify which just runs extremely slowly on my device for some reason) : Video demonstration What can I do? How do I solve this issue? 21. Unlikely, but it's possible that lack of proper grounding resulted in a static discharge that ultimately killed your mobo during the case transfer.
