  1. Hi all I’ve recently been having trouble with the memory_management bsod. For the past while I have been experiencing this error however it has only been an inconvenience and happening maybe once every 2 weeks, the pc restarts I continue (stupid I know). But recently this happened and caused a lot more trouble. I allowed the computer to restart however on boot it immediately blue screened again, I tried once more and managed to log into windows however after around 10 seconds it blue screened. At this point I booted into the bios and disabled my memory profile, thinking maybe this would help. I then attempted to boot however failed to even boot into lockscreen, a message was displayed saying something about windows unable to boot due to a file error, I didn’t take a photo (again stupid I know) however from memory the file it pointed to involved sys32 and logfiles. Windows gave me the option to attempt to repair my pic however it also stated that personal data may be lost, I wasn’t okay with this and so clicked shut down. I then attempted to boot again and this time was able to enter into windows. So far everything seems stable, I haven’t had a bsod but it’s only been running for a few minutes. I seem to have engaged the windows repair tool that I talked about before by trying to boot, it has cleared my download folder aswell as desktop icons, logins etc. however everything seems to be intact. All drivers are up to date as i saw a common cause of this error is due to faulty gpu drivers. I like to think I’m pretty tech literate but this is mostly limited to hardware, I’m pretty clueless when it comes to software. I’m pretty sure the issue is software based as the computer is quite new but if there is an issue it will probably be with the Gpu as it’s the one used component in the build. If this is the end of the errors then I can redo my desktop icons and other stuff without much trouble, but if this happens again I don’t want to have to deal with it. A clean install is possible over the weekend (I attend class online) however I have a large amount of data both in games and work on my computer and no local backup options, so I’m trying to avoid this if possible. Thanks for the help (Sorry for the wall of text) specs in signature
  2. Honestly the stock cooler is fine for the 3600, you can invest in an aftermarket one if you want but its not really necessary.
  3. I would get faster RAM, Ryzen 3rd gen likes 3600.
  4. What speed is the RAM you have now? Ryzen benefits greatly from faster RAM due to its architecture.
  5. If the used card is in good condition and your ok with used hardware then I would definitely suggest the 1080 ti, it's still a very good card and thats a good price.
  6. I would get a better cooler if your looking for something cheap, that would probably be something I would recommend regardless of looks.
  7. I would say definitely get the 1080ti, especially if you can find a good model for a nice price. I have this combination and it runs very well together, I had the same dilemma and was planning on getting a 2070 non super for over 150$ more. I did my research and decided on the used 1080 ti and I think I made the right decision.
  8. imo there's no point to upgrading your cpu with that gpu, I suggest saving up for a whole new build.
  9. Is there any way you could route the cable differently so it doesn't touch the heat pipe?
  10. At that price point, I would highly recommend going for used parts. You could try finding something like a GTX 750/750Ti, but you would just have to wait until a good deal comes up. I really know nothing about motherboards so I can't help you with that.
  11. Hi all, I live in Thailand and am currently in the process of putting together a new pc, since prices are insane here I'm looking at the used market. I've found a used Asus Strix 1080 ti oc edition for 17500thb (570USD), and am thinking about purchasing it, keep in mind an RTX 2070 costs around 20000thb (650USD). Would this be a good buy considering the price of new hardware around here?
