  1. I find the main issue trying to look over my own shoulder.........
  2. Many thanks guys. Ill go look see what works for me.
  3. Im trying to find a way to backup the non os files on my pc. I have a large usb drive 4 tb and all pcs run windows 10. My only issue is that I cant find a simple way to do it. Hear me out. I can drag and drop the whole doc folder to the drive but that takes hours so only copy the new files that are not already backed up! Ok how the heck do i do this? Going trough every files checking it against the backup? I know a really simple answer here but im dammed if i can work it out. Thanks in advance.
  4. ok guys ty so no magic setting w10 i missed? Ill try and borrow a phone but so far everyone has 2gwifi phones so ......... Theres a USB dongle ill borrow see if that cures it maybe the pci card borked....
  5. Ok more info as requested. Phone sits on shelf by window 6M or 20ft from the pc I get enough speed on laptop to watch YouTube and send emails so its purely a config on the pc a drive or I dont know everything else can see the 5G connection and use it the pc cannot. Sim speeds a red herring i think doesn't matter what speed the sim gets its the connection from phone to pc that's the issue.
  6. Ty for replys DesignDecay No Up till now i used wire connection but seeing as the main Fiber is in piece in a field............ SO this is new to me. Eigenvektor Galaxy A13 5G No clue the phone has a 5G mode which laptop and other phone connect to in 5G mode. Pc only reason the phones set to 2G and runs slower on speed test as does everything as phone has to be on 2G to allow pc to see it. Speed test on laptop connected at 2G slower than on 5G if that makes sense? Doing my best here guys but im in uncharted waters here. Wired FTW
  7. Windows 10 latest updates (within 8 days) So due to storms etc we find our selves with out out or fiber connection. So ok my mobile phone has data and a ok connection use that. So i put my wifi pci card Asus AC56 into the pc windows 10 for once finds it and gets it working. Now the rub. My phone was only set to 5g my card is 5g But PC cannot see the network only those on 2g. I looked this up. Driver : Broadcom 802.11ac Network Adapter Vendor : Broadcom Provider : Microsoft Date : 02/06/2013 Version : 6.30.223.256 INF file : netbc64.inf Type : Native Wi-Fi Driver Radio types supported : 802.11ac 802.11a 802.11n 802.11g 802.11b FIPS 140-2 mode supported : Yes 802.11w Management Frame Protection supported : Yes Hosted network supported : Yes From Google search 802.11a or 802.11ac. If you can find these among the displayed values, your computer supports 5GHz. But nothing i do will set it to 5g and every google result tells me to set Preferred Band in device Manager Advanced but thats not on the list............ DURP Im Using USB Tethering at the moment which is not great. Tried the manufacturers web page no drivers W10 will install automatically 10 year old drivers. So what Dumb ass thing am i doing wrong please?
  8. You may have to upgrade to ssd large spinners spec laptop drive that run slower than the larger 3.5 will take longer to spin up and seek to the file. I had a quick look and it there seems to be a M2 slot on your laptop this is only from a picture i found of the mobo and it wasnt clear if it was just for a wifi card. if you can a 250 gb just for the os and frequent games wouldnt break the bank. If not then its a direct replacement for a 2.5 ssd.but there not cheap 80 quid ish for a 1tb
  9. Tried defraging it? Windows options type defrag in the search, Then its select the correct drive etc.
  10. how you connecting to the output of what i assume is a pc? Jack plug etc? Could you try head phones in same output see if that gets stereo if not then the outputs the problem. My 2 cents.
  11. +1 for what Kev said there are adapters but there are 3 ports for a reason It requires that amount of power.
  12. Update. Gigabyte apparently cant supply a replacement cable.................. They did email me with a local shops number who could. They said i had to contact gigabyte directly. Round and round and round we go........... I tried getting a generic part but there not the same size ends so dont fit and the pins dont line up to the tracks. Does anyone know who i can contact for this part?
  13. Still waiting on gigabyte to read my request for help sourcing the part. This is so anoying
  14. Have you tried running a free benchmark software like Haven just to see if the GPU operates ok under stress if it run fines in the bench mark which are normally the worse case scenarios then you can start looking into issue related to the games.
