    Fairly new to hardware but not PC gaming as a whole. I originally played on the old family computer we stuck a gt 610 in (and this was my introduction to PC gaming and the card was new at the time). Got sucked in upon having my brother help my younger self build a PC supporting a gtx 670 and an i5 3570k later down the road, and I've been here ever since.

    Does your motherboard show any error codes? I had a very similar thing happen to me with a terrible cooler I had and my old 6700k where the cpu burned out and I got the error code 00 (also an asus board) which, according to everywhere I looked, meant hardware failure. Have you looked around the socket besides pins to see if any other damage is there as well?
