  2. Updated build is posted in a new comment below. 1. Budget & Location My budget is a minimum of 2 grand up to about 3 not a nickle more, I live in West Coast Canada. 2. Aim I'm going to be using my system for 20+ chrome tabs while simultaneously with any 1 number of tasks such as, streaming on occasion, playing Black Desert Online specifically, I would like to run it at 90+ fps at 1440p high/very high detail, running 2 or more mobile phone emulators, Graphical Design on occasion, editing videos on very rare occasion. 3. Monitors I currently have 1 monitor, I'm in the process of acquiring 2 more and am thinking of getting a 3rd. 4. Peripherals Optionally if there is extra budget, I'm looking to acquire a mixer, webcam, mic, audio dac, and stream deck. Not necessary just nice to haves. These wont be allocated to the budget as they can be acquired after the fact. 5. Why are you upgrading? I'm upgrading because I want to try building my own PC, I also don't particularly enjoy buying prebuilt pcs with bottle necked hardware, that said I know prebuilt pcs are getting more pinpoint focused, so the main reason is again the experience of building my own pc. 6. Additional notes I'm looking to get the 3950x when it releases on the 25th, which will be obvious overkill, so any suggestions for an alternative CPU are welcome, assuming I wont be waiting months to obtain it. Despite all the video reviews I may watch the GPU and MOBO are probably the next ones that I've no clue how to select. This is what I currently have as a build: PCPartPicker Part List Type Item Price CPU Cooler Noctua NH-U12S chromax.black 55 CFM CPU Cooler $94.95 @ Amazon Canada Motherboard Asus ROG Strix X570-E Gaming ATX AM4 Motherboard $399.00 @ Canada Computers Memory G.Skill Trident Z 64 GB (4 x 16 GB) DDR4-3600 Memory $407.00 @ Newegg Canada Storage ADATA XPG SX8200 Pro 1 TB M.2-2280 NVME Solid State Drive $179.99 @ Canada Computers Storage Samsung 860 QVO 2 TB 2.5" Solid State Drive $288.50 @ Vuugo Case Thermaltake Level 20 GT ATX Full Tower Case $229.99 @ Memory Express Power Supply Asus 850 W 80+ Platinum Certified Fully Modular ATX Power Supply $269.99 @ Newegg Canada Prices include shipping, taxes, rebates, and discounts Total $1869.42 Generated by PCPartPicker 2019-11-23 02:02 EST-0500 The only ones I wont compromise on are the PSU, because seeing the voltage is a QoL I personally desire. Thanks in advance for any constructive criticism. Please be merciful.
  3. Didn't find a thread with the information. Basically why is the price of 2 sticks of ddr4 from some companies almost 70% less then 4 sticks of ddr4 Crucial Ballistix being 1 such example https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/product/gLGxFT/crucial-ballistix-sport-lt-16-gb-2-x-8-gb-ddr4-3200-memory-bls2k8g4d32aesbk https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/product/KZprxr/crucial-ballistix-sport-lt-32-gb-4-x-8-gb-ddr4-3200-memory-bls4k8g4d32aesbk Now obviously not all companies and increase prices to such an extreme, but for those that do. I don't understand the methodology behind it. Is there some special property that the 4 sticks have over 2? that the 4 sticks or more expensive? Yes I know you could literally just buy 2 of the 2 set, but that defeats the purpose of the question. Hope someone could give me more insight into the subject!
  4. Aren't those scripted in to be more just funny or witty interactions, while not the most refined in it's own sense have a relative humor to them.
  5. Waiting for a processor that will more then likely have teething issues for the first 6 months of it's life, since it's a new architecture and will need various bios updates for that time span, does not sound like a fun time to me. I do appreciate the suggestion though. Looks reasonable. Would you surmise that I would also be able to stream off the set up you suggested? otherwise I was thinking I would re-purpose the pre-built I'm currently using as a streaming PC
  6. 1. Budget & Location Nothing more then 1.5k Canadian. Canadia. 2. Aim Gaming, video editing, and digital 2D drawing. The most strenuous game I will most likely be playing BDO, I'd be fine with 75 up to 100 FPS at high setting at 1080p. 3. Monitors Current monitor is Asus vg245h, 75hz, 1080p, I'm looking to get more monitors but not any time soon. 4. Peripherals None necessary for purchase. 5. Why are you upgrading? The laptop I'm currently using has slowed down significantly and the performance of the placeholder pre-built desktop is disappointing, yes I know I could simply upgrade the pre-built I simply don't want to. 6. Additional A few questions, does 3200 ddr4 out of the box work on x470? or do I need to fiddle with the BIOS? and does anyone have or has used PSU's from PC Power & Cooling? im very interested in getting their Silencer Mk III series of PSU's for ascetics. I don't plan to OC but it is an option. Lastly this is my current build on pcpartpicker.
