  1. Hi all, I am getting some strange results with my RTX 3090 and Im not sure why or where to start in finding out. I am a fairly handy PC builder but don't know much about troubleshooting this sort of thing. In Warzone at 1080p I am getting around 120-140 fps which I used to get on my RTX 2080 SUPER. I understand Warzone isnt a particularly optimised game so I decided to try time spy to see what I got and the GPU score came out at 10,936 which I understand is rather low for a 3090. Can someone advise how I should start troubleshooting this? https://www.3dmark.com/3dm/52607270 System Specs: CPU: Ryzen 9 3900X CPU Cooler: Corsair Hydro H150i MoBo: ASUS ROG CROSSHAIR VIII HERO GPU: NVIDIA RTX3090 FE RAM: 32GB Corsair DDR4 LPX 3600 PSU: Corsair SFX SF750 Storage: 500GB Corsair MP600 SSD Case: Lian Li O11 Dynamic
  2. I removed the cover yeah, I really don't think the issue is with the card. Just seems like some poor design but I could be wrong.
  3. Thanks for pointing that out about the pins, I realise now it was the “Supreme FX” plastic cover on the other side of the board causing the error. The card did not work until I did this. Seems silly of ASUS to put such a large shroud right where the graphics card goes, but equally silly of me not to notice! Thanks for the help and advice. Hopefully this post will help out anyone else who finds themselves confused by this.
  4. Really sorry for the delay I had some things going on so put this on hold. Unfortunately the issue remains as you can see the pins on the gpu will not go into the slot and I believe the reason is that it is impacting on the motherboard, circled in red. this is a top of the line ASUS X570 gaming board, surely I can’t be the only person having this problem? any advice or help appreciated
  5. Hi guys, Not sure if Im being silly or if the card really doesnt fit. I have a 3090 FE and using my ASUS ROG HERO X570 I cant get the card to fit in the top slot? It does fit in the middle slot but it looks a bit silly and means I cant have bottom fans in my case. The card seems to be impacting against the cooler shroud around the M2 slots/southbridge. Is there anything I can do to raise it slightly?
  6. Hi Everyone, Im considering building an ATX watercooled system in the 011 Dyanic (maybe razer edition). build will be: CPU: Ryzen 9 3900X MoBo: ROG CROSSHAIR VIII FORMULA (AMD AM4) DDR4 X570 CHIPSET ATX MOTHERBOARD GPU: NVIDIA ASUS ROG STRIX RTX3090 RAM: 32GB Corsair Vengance Pro RGB DDR4 LPX 3600 Storage: 500GB Corsair MP600 SSD Case: Lian Li 011 Dynamic Water cooling: Corsair Hydro X CPU Block GPU Block TBC EK 011 Dynamic distro plate 2x Radiators TBC 6x Corsair QL120 RGB Fans My question is: Would it be acceptable to have a run like this using the motherboard DISTRO PLATE>>CPU>>MOTHERBOARD>>RAD>>DISTRO PLATE Or is it more hassle than its worth? If so I would go for a Motherboard with standard cooling.
  7. Hello everyone, I am (like everyone else it seems) considering an upgrade to an RTX 3090 for my rig. Currently I have a full Corsair Hydro X water cooling setup, which I like because of the RGB controls etc. My question, or rather request for opinions is, Do you think Corsair are more likely to make their first blocks for founders edition (non reference) or the reference design? My plan was just to buy a founders edition and run it on air cooling until a Corsair waterblock was released, feeling comfortable that it would be the reference design and all would be well but I am now unsure after hearing the Nvidia card is non ref. Appreciate nobody knows but keen to hear opinions, I could go for an AIB card that is thought of as being reference. Thanks, Mark
  8. Thank you! Do you think then that even the 600 would be enough or should I definitely make the jump to 750?
  9. Hi all. I currently have a custom water cooled rig with a Corsair SF600. I have gone with an SFX as space is at a bit of a premium with all the tubing and cable management. with the impending release of the new cards I would like an RTX3090. I have two questions 1) Is the SF750 likely to be enough juice (I think this is the most powerful SFX unit). I want to power the rig and Overclock. 2) assuming it is, can I swap the modular cables only at the PSU side or will the cables be different gauge wire? For reference this is my full build: CPU: Ryzen 9 3900X MoBo: ASUS ROG Crosshair VIII Impact X570 GPU: NVIDIA RTX2080 Super (to be swapped for 3090) RAM: 32GB Corsair Vengance Pro RGB DDR4 LPX 3600 Storage: 500GB Corsair MP600 SSD Case: Corsair Crystal 280x Water cooling: Corsair Hydro X CPU Block Corsair Hydro X GPU Block Corsair Hydro X XD5 Pump 2x Corsair Hydro X Slim 240mm fans 6x Corsair QL120 RGB Fans thanks, Mark
  10. Hi all, I am trying to setup my audio for gaming and its getting a bit complex and Im struggling to work out how to set it up in Windows to work how I want. Devices I have are: Astro A50 - Connected via Optical cable and USB The A50 then shows up in sounds settings as: Astro A50 Game (I dont want to use this as using Optical out for game audio) Astro A50 Voice + Razer Seiren Elite What I want to acheive is Game Sound Output - Optical to A50 Chat Output - Astro A50 Voice (So I can do Game/Voice Mix) Chat Input - Razer Seiren Elite The game sound seems to be working well so all good on that. Its trying to get chat in and out to be a different device I cant quite get. Any help much appreciated! Thanks, Mark
  11. Hi all, I am planning to do my first custom water cooling loop and have been doing quite a lot of research. I have settled on my build and am going all corsair with the water-cooling/fans as I like the idea of all the RGB etc being controlled via iCUE. The only concern I have is trying to buy the correct fittings as the prices here in the UK for Corsair fittings are very expensive. Is it possible to buy compatible fittings elsewhere? Ideally I would have preferred some kind of "multi-pack" so I could mix and match as required. Otherwise, could someone give me some idea of an approximate number of each fitting type I would need? For reference I am looking to replicate this build: Appreciate this is not necessarily a straight forward question but any help is appreciated Thanks, Mark
  12. Hi all, I recently built a new rig, its a lot of power in a small case so I thought temps may be an issue but I thought it would be CPU that would be the issue, not the chipset. When gaming the chipset temp shoots up to 88-90C and when I stop it does drop but not very much and not very quickly! Can anyone think why this would be? The motherboard is ASUS ROG and is meant to have onboard cooling.. really surprised and confused. Specs: Specs: CPU: Ryzen 9 3900X CPU Cooler: Corsair Hydro H80i MoBo: ASUS ROG Crosshair VIII Impact X570 GPU: NVIDIA RTX2080 Super RAM: 32GB Corsair DDR4 LPX 3600 Storage: 500GB Corsair MP600 SSD Case: SUGO SG13B MINI-ITX PSU: Corsair SF600 Thanks, Mark
  13. @5x5 @Mateyyy Hi both, Have been looking into the temps and while the CPU seems okay I notice the chipset temps in HWINFO64 are very high. Playing warzone I notice the chipset is sitting at 89C sustained.. really surprised and confused - any thoughts on what could be causing thiis?
  14. That’s really disappointing as I love the look of the case, but I also love the board so will need to the one that got away I think
  15. Hello, I currently have a rig built in a silverstone Sugo with an ASUS ROG Crosshair impact Mini DTX. I am thinking about picking up a Phanteks Enthoo Evolv Shift Air but I see it is only rated for mini itx, with DTX being a newer form factor but very similar to mini itx, can anyone advise if it will fit in this case? thanks Mark
  16. Looks like my batch number isn't affected by the recall so all good there. I will try running those stress tests
  17. Oops that was silly! I have added it above and for reference its a Corsair SF600. I have looked at temps and the CPU temp occasionally goes into high 70s but I have been using core temp - perhaps that's not the best software to use? I am using the latest bios and drivers and don't have DOCP on.
  18. Hi all, I recently finished my new RIG, Its a lot of power in a small case and Im very pleased with it but I'm having an annoying intermittent issue, specifically when gaming (Warzone). When playing, on occasion the whole PC will freeze, die and then boot up again. It shows no error or notice about why this has happened. Could someone advise some logs or something I could check out? Specs: CPU: Ryzen 9 3900X CPU Cooler: Corsair Hydro H80i MoBo: ASUS ROG Crosshair VIII Impact X570 GPU: NVIDIA RTX2080 Super RAM: 32GB Corsair DDR4 LPX 3600 Storage: 500GB Corsair MP600 SSD Case: SUGO SG13B MINI-ITX PSU: Corsair SF600
  19. Thanks a lot for this! Will try the GUI first as I had a look at the bios but was a bit confused. If the GUI doesnt get the results Im after I will try and research bios a bit more. Thats cool we have the same board, This is by far the most expensive board Ive ever bought but Im hoping I can use it for a long time. Did you change your CPU voltage settings similar to this video from Jayztwocents?
  20. I will pick up an H80i, I wanted this to be a pretty no compromise build so want cooling performance to be excellent for its size. Dissapointed I didnt realise before? Thanks for this Could you explain how I can setup a fan curve as at the moment my fan is continually spinning up and down and its rather annoying!
  21. Ah okay, Reason I was concerened was that watching a youtube video by Jayztwocents he seemed to suggest that 40 was high? I didnt realise the H60 wwas considered a bad cooler, is there a better 120mm AiO you can reccomend?
  22. Hello all, I am having some issues with my newly built mini ITX Rig (D-ATX). Im not sure if this is a CPU settings issue or some kind of cooling problem but decided to post in CPU. I just built the machine and it is my first ever small form factor build. Here are the specs: Here are the full build specs: CPU: Ryzen 9 3900X CPU Cooler: Corsair Hydro H60 MoBo: ASUS ROG Crosshair VIII Impact X570 GPU: NVIDIA RTX2080 Super RAM: 32GB Corsair DDR4 LPX 3600 Storage: 500GB Corsair MP600 SSD Case: SUGO SG13B MINI-ITX My issue is that on idle my CPU jumps between 44 and 54 degrees, each time it jumps the fan spins up then back down. I stress the word jumps as it does not steadily climb it is a straight number switch. It worries me both that the idle is so high and that the temp is jumping around. I ran a Prime95 stress test set for max heat and the CPU topped out at 67 which seems like a good number on load so really not getting why it is idling so high. Can anyone help out?
  23. Thanks everyone for the replies - given that my computer likely can't run the 4K I have gone for the 1440
  24. Thanks! Appreciate the advice and saves me some money
  25. Hello all, I am looking for a new high end monitor for gaming and have narrowed it down to two options. 1440p: 27" ASUS ROG Swift PG278QE Monitor, TN, 2560x1440, 165Hz, 1ms, G-SYNC, 1000:1, 350cd/m², HDMI/DP/USB 4K: 27" Acer Predator XB273KGP Monitor, IPS, 3840x2160, 120Hz, 4ms, HDR, 1000:1, 400cd/m², HDMI/DP, G-Sync Compatible Is the 165Hz worth giving up for 4K? Also would my system be able to drive 4K at high settings? This is my build: CPU: Ryzen 9 3900X CPU Cooler: Corsair Hydro H60 MoBo: ASUS ROG Crosshair VIII Impact X570 GPU: NVIDIA RTX2080 Super RAM: 32GB Corsair DDR4 LPX 3600 Storage: 500GB Corsair MP600 SSD Case: SUGO SG13B MINI-ITX
