  1. Is it normal that my keyboard is non responsive the first 3-4 seconds of booting up my windows 11 pc? It's just before I can type my password on the locked screen.
  2. My current build is 3 months old but within the last week or so my pc has begun giving me a black screen and when this happens the fans on the GPU goes to 100%, it has only happened in League of Legends so far and not in any GPU heavy title such as Hogwarts Legacy, RDR2, Witcher 3 or R6 which leads me to think its not the PSU since when playing League the power usage is really low, it happens randomly, sometimes I will be ingame and sometimes I will be on the menu when it happens (I think it has happened 3 times now) Relevant parts of the build: CPU: i7-10700K Motherboard: Asus Strix Z590-F GPU: Msi 4080 Suprim X PSU: Asus ROG Loki 1000 Watt I am not running and overclock on the GPU or CPU and I'm on the latest BIOS firmware and the 12vhpwr is plugged all the way in on both ends. I found a video posted by someone that seems to have the same issue as me on Reddit, however none of the replies to that post were helpful. Could this be because of a bad Nvidia driver? I heard something about one of the latest drivers being buggy, I just updated to the newest one and has yet to have another crash all though I'm not sure if it was driver related and I'm unable to test it as the problem occurs randomly. Any help is appreciated
  3. Correct me if im wrong but aren't the 4 tiny pins on top of the 12VHPWR there so the GPU can "talk" to the PSU because the 4000 series could have some serious power spikes. Without the native 12VHPWR support your PSU and GPU wont be able to talk to each other.
  4. Currently planning on doing a new build with an rtx 4080 and I was thinking of going with an ATX 3.0 compatible PSU this time. I know that the choices are limited right now but I wanted to ask anyway, are there any brands I should avoid? I've seen Asus, Gigabyte and MSI PSUs that are in stock already, however I've always been a corsair guy when it comes to PSUs but seeing as they haven't released one yet and from the looks of it they wont put the 12VHPWR connecter on their upcoming units but include an adapter cable instead I was thinking that maybe I should find one that has the 12VHPWR connecter on natively since I'm going to use a 4000 series GPU. So so far I've been looking at the Asus Rog Loki 850/1000 watt, there aren't really any reviews on this unit yet, I heard that in the past Asus made a collab with Seasonic so they could put their own name and design on some of Seasonic PSUs but they were really overpriced (not sure if this is true but it would not surprise me), wondering if the Loki is a Seasonic PSU as well and if so, is it a good power supply or am I better off waiting for Corsair or some other brand to see if anything better comes out? Thanks!
  5. Hi, before I order a custom cable from cablemod I was curious if there is any advantages to having a psu that has the new 12 pin adapter or is it just fine having the normal 8x3/8x4 to 12pin? Will it effect fps?
  6. is it really tho? Looking at AMDs own graphs and comparing them to hardware unboxeds 4080 testing it doesnt look like the 7900xtx is gonna be faster, just cheaper?
  7. lots of tax where I live so prices are a bit higher here, I can get 695 USD for my 3080 right now and the cheapest 4080 goes for 1560 USD which means I have to pay 865 USD for a 4080 tuf.
  8. but if the 4080 was cheaper I wouldnt be able to sell my 3080 for as much as i am?
  9. but if the 4080 was cheaper I wouldnt be able to sell my 3080 for as much as i am?
  10. Hi, I wanted to upgrade to the 4080 but after seeing the price I was thrown a bit off, but now that I think more about it, is it really a bad deal after all? I got a strix 3080 which I can sell for msrp (already have serveral people text they want to pay this much) and use the money I get from selling it towards buying a 4080, but is it still bad value?
  11. I want to install a new m.2 sdd as boot drive but leave my old sata ssd in the system so I can store games on it. I was planning on reseting the pc but windows will surely stay on my old SSD when I do, how do I go about doing this so I can install windows on my new m.2 and stop my pc from booting on my old ssd? Not sure if this post belongs in Operating Systems or Storage devices. Thanks in advance!
  12. Hi, I think my current external HDD is dying cause whenever i view videos on it they flicker like crazy and sometimes it wont even load them. I think I got it in 2016-2017 but im not so sure. I want to buy a new one, I will primarily use it to store important photos and videos. Should I go for an external SSD or HDD and do you have any recommendations? I read somewhere that external HDD's can be powered off for much longer than external SSD's but I have no idea if this is true or not, I just want it to last for a while. Thanks
  13. Hi, I've come across a really good deal on a Samsung 980 Pro NVME SSD 500GB and I thought I could maybe replace it with the intel 660p ssd I currently have, but is the samsung drive even gonna make a difference when it comes to booting up windows? I have an i7-10700k so I cant use PCIE 4.0 but I saw the Samsung 980 Pro had dram where as my intel 660p doesnt.
  14. Hi, im looking for some opinions on this, currently I have 3200mhz dual channel ram, is it worth upgrading to 3600mhz quad channel ram if I have an i7-10700k, will I gain any noticeable performance?
  15. Alright thanks, do you by any chance know if custom cables made for the RM1000X can be used on the 1000E? I’m asking cause I’ve found some used cablemod cables that were made for the 1000x in my area and since new cablemod cables are quite expensive I thought of buying these instead.
  16. Hi, just a quick question, does anyone know the difference between these two power supplies (Corsair RM1000x and RM1000e) is it just the size or is there anything else I should know before deciding on which one to buy? I cant seem to find anything on Corsairs website that tells me what the difference is other than the size.
  17. The only fans pulling air out are the ones in the top on the radiator and the one at the back, the 6 front fans are shooting air in.
  18. Is it normal for a 3080 Strix to have a vrm and hotspot temp hovering around 50-55 degrees celsius at idle? My case is a 5000D airflow with plenty of fans mounted, room temp is around 25 degrees.
  19. Push pull on AIO and the rest is just mounted on the front, sides and rear.
  20. Hi, I’ve been looking at the Fractal Torrent Full tower for a long time cause I really like the design, however I’m curious as to how much better the airflow is than the Corsair 5000D Airflow which I currently own, I’ve watched GNs video on the torrent however they only test them with the stock fans and the 5000D airflow comes with 2 crappy fans from factory where the torrent comes equipped with a full set. I’ve mounted 13 fans in my 5000D, wouldn’t the performance of the torrent be equally as good or maybe slightly better because of the huge 180mm fans? I certainly don’t want worse performance.
  21. Hi i want to change the timings of my ram, currently they’re running at 16-20-20-38, is it possible to change them to 16-18-18-36 or is that likely to make them unstable?
  22. I switched the current ones in my pc to match the new ones I’m getting so they’re currently at CL16-20-20-38. As far as I can see on the website everything else is the same, 1.35v on both. Both have SPD - 2133mhz at 1.2v - CL15-15-15-15-36, no ECC, the only difference is at 3200mhz where one has CL16-18-18-36 and the other is at CL16-20-20-38, so there shouldn’t be any problems now right?
