  1. Hi, I bought a gigabyte aero 15x9 (i7-8750H with rtx 2070maxq)last year and the thermals were pretty crappy. But I found that with a nice undervolt and capping the max clock freq at 3.3GHz (instead of maximum 3.9GHz), I could very easily get good temps (80C cpu maximum, 78C gpu maximum). But slowly, over the course of one year, the performance has degraded so much that now I am unable to play games without cpu AND gpu staying peaked at 90C (and this is with cpu now manually capped to 2.2GHz by disabling turbo boost!) The cpu frequency even goes down to 1.9GHz which is awful and rtx card is pinned at base freq of 885MHz (I don't notice much because I game on an external 2k ultrawide monitor with G-SYNC.) Oh and my cpu can only pull 17W I have even tried thermal pasting but that didn't improve temperatures at all. Any suggestions on what I should try? Any help appreciated because gaming on my laptop is the only way I stay in touch with my friends back home.
  2. Where can I find this display overclocking software?
  3. @GeneXiS_X 3.7Ghz sustained with temps as shown in graph. I don't understand why people say it's thermal throttling. If anything, I find power limit throttling a bigger concern!
  4. I think the thermal issues can be solved with a simple thermal repaste. I used kryonaut and here: CPU max 85C, GPU max 63C on a burnin stress test... Is the performance delta between 80W and 90W huge?
  5. AMA dead? I have a few Q's too, if y'all don't mind!
  6. I just bought an aero x9. Anything issues/tips that I should be aware of?
  7. @Oblivion181 could you check GPU-Z and let me know if the 2070maxq is the 90W version? Apparently there are 80W and 90W variants of this gpu!
