  1. Budget chair, but I managed to get my home office setup to almost working state, just need to overcome this final issue and I am set. The one I have has the shape I am looking for, just need to overcome the material issue. Home office is quite popular these days. You should give it a try.
  2. The pad uses polyester cover to wrap around plastic bag and polyurethane foams . It's very comfortable in the first 10 minutes or so, but every minute after that is unbearable. Even when I use this on a mesh back chair, it doesn't breath at all. The layering goes like this: The plastic fabric outershell Plastic bag (this is necessary to help the outshell slip on to the foamed frame, otherwise they will get stuck) Polyurethane foams Polycarbonate frame I need a way fix the heat issue, anything I can add on top of it to help? Using the chair without this add-on will hurt my back. Have tried putting bamboo mats on top of the pad, the effects wasn't very significant with the one I got, and pieces of it keep peeling off. Any better bamboo mats? Or better head dissipating fabric to put on top of the backsupport pads? This is the piece I am using https://www.amazon.com/ObusForme-Adjustable-Cushioning-Portability-Hypoallergenic/dp/B000FJUA8S/
  3. Just a one time revisiting the nostalgia and then call it a day instead of the trend actually reviving and actually becoming viable again? I had hoped my next phone would be a medium range waterproof flip phone, but that will require the hinges to be perfected before the threat of water can be considered. I would have to wait another 5 years at least before my dream phone would become reality but that's under the premise that flip phones actually become mainstream again.
  4. We are about 10 posts in, any recommendations for those remailer services? I know American Walmart doesn't ship its own stuff to Canada. I was planning to use temporary border mailbox service, but that's out of the question at this time. So now I am just looking at remailers now.
  5. I am basically wondering which middleman services LTT trust enough to use their services to ship tech products across the borders.
  6. The product selection in some categories are rather poor in Canadian Walmart, so we know LTT didn't buy the laptops from them. What was the process like for LTT to buy stuff from American Walmart and ship to Canada? Which middleman services did they use?
  7. Right when I accepted the download, my computer blue screened twice and event viewer couldn't tell me what happened. I was using computer like I normally would, so might be because my computer ran out of memory trying to run the installer while my browser chewed up the reserves. After running the updates, seems okay so far, will needs to try memory intensive usage again to see if it happens again.
  8. It was about the addon certificate checking that Firefox just decided to enforce overnight. It didn't just affect Firefox, but also all derivatives of Firefox like Palemoon, and they didn't even give you the option to disable the checking in the official version right away, only in the nightly version, because of this, ublock origin was disabled, plus a bunch of my other browsing essentials. https://www.engadget.com/2019-05-03-firefox-extension-add-on-cert.html It was that day that I really decided to give Vivaldi a look.
  9. If you use Linux, there really isn't any option other than Firefox, but on Windows, Firefox cut one of my favorite addons, plus they had that screw up that disabled my addons all at once so I decided to take a break from them. That's beside the point though. I am mainly wondering how Edge fares against Chrome, just these 2.
  10. Saw the notification in Windows update about this, and I am wondering if I should go ahead or wait a bit longer. What says you?
  11. I have been running Vivaldi for a while now, and I think Edge might be more stable than Vivaldi and am thinking about giving it another chance. I always use Chrome at work, but might start using just Edge once the workstations get them. I haven't really been using Google integration with Chrome very much anyway, only used Chrome as a browser instead of an interface for Google accounts. Haven't checked the full list of what I will miss out though.
  12. Can gamecube run on monitors? I only have a computer monitor that takes vga (or something older? I need to dig it out of my storage first)
  13. Some months ago I sold an old 4x3 LCD monitor because I had no use for it, and the market rate was only like $10 dollars for this thing. So I was also looking into getting rid of my old CRT monitor. I was looking at the price people were selling this and I was like wtf? This thing could fetch a couple hundred dollars? What's going on? Is there still a use for this hulking beast of a monitor beside vintage? Why is demand so high that this could fetch the same amount of money as an mid-entry level graphics card?
  14. I am looking for a case where I can (easily mod the case and) mount a proprietary front IO panel to the case some how. Or failing that, some way to connect the case IO connector cables to male USB and audio plugs and act as extension cables to the proprietary IO panel I was reading the thread on the case transfer process for Dell optiplex 790 and newer, and the amount of work required to convert dell IO panel socket to use regular pc io panels just seems way too much. So I was thinking the next best thing 1. Either connect the case IO connector cables to male USB and audio plugs, and then plug them into the Dell IO panel and hide the Dell panel inside the case, OR 2. Simply mount the Dell IO panel directly to the case I think 2 would be easier because the diagnostic lights are also on the IO panel, but whichever works, but I don't know if the cable is long enough. I think the USB 3 plugs are actually compatible with Dell motherboards, so I could ignore USB2, but I still need the 1/8" headphone and mic jacks
  15. But Archive.is doesn't use cloudflare. Ah, never mind, I forgot to flush the dns cache, after I flushed it, it worked
  16. I have not been able to access Archive site for some years now, and the error I get is Error 1001 Ray ID: blahblah time stamp DNS resolution error What happened? You've requested a page on a website (archive.fo) that is on the Cloudflare network. Cloudflare is currently unable to resolve your requested domain (archive.fo). There are two potential causes of this: Most likely: if the owner just signed up for Cloudflare it can take a few minutes for the website's information to be distributed to our global network. Less likely: something is wrong with this site's configuration. Usually this happens when accounts have been signed up with a partner organization (e.g., a hosting provider) and the provider's DNS fails. I have tried using Shaw's own DNS, tried Google DNS 8.8.8.8, and also Cloudflare DNS 1.1.1.1, but they all give me the same error. Why is it that I am getting cloudflare error if I am not using Cloudflare DNS? I can access archive.is main page itself, but I can't see any of the actual archived pages
  17. Which one is UGREEN 40234? What does it look like? Can you link me to it? Any one else has any success?
  18. There are quite a few cheap hdmi switches on Amazon, but they they all look very similar with similar ratings. Some of them have the same button layouts and same specs. Wouldn't be surprised if these are all the same circuit boards with different shells around them. A common theme about the switches I read is the 1 star reviews all mentioned these not lasting for more than a few months. Any of you bought any cheap hdmi switches that have lasted for more than a couple years and are still kicking? Can you recommend me one? My tentative budget is less than 30 dollars and I only need it for 2 devices(for now). 4k or 60fps would be nice but not musts.
  19. Whoa, hdmi to display port is an active connection? I didn't know that. I had thought it's just a passive conversion, maybe I will just try a hdmi switch as suggested above then.
  20. Hmmm, I see some cheap hdmi switches on Amazon that's only a few dollars more than a hdmi display port cable, but that's a full circuit board compare to a simple passive cable. Not sure about the durability of such a cheap switch, but I suppose it's worth a try.
  21. So far I have only found display port to hdmi adapter, but never the other way around, and these adapters never say if they are bidirectional conversion or not. My laptop only has a hdmi port, but the monitor's only free port is display.
  22. Does your monitor have audio output? The consoles can send the audio and video together to the monitor through hdmi, and then monitor can use audio jack to output to speakers. Otherwise your consoles may have to use another adapter to output audio through RCA.
  23. On the older operating systems they lock you out after 6 months. I wonder if they one kept unactivated Win 10 running longer than that.
  24. I have been hearing that Microsoft doesn't lock out unactivated installs of Windows 10 like they used with Windows 7 and 8. How true is this claim? Does anyone keep an unactivated install running till this day to prove it? What changed their mind?
