  1. Did some more messing around and I can't boot if I have any DIMMs in B1 or B2. Definitely a bad mobo right?
  2. So I bought a new motherboard Gigabyte Aorous B550 Pro AC today and now my ram won't work in dual-channel. I know these sticks work because I was using them hours ago. Both sticks work individually and in any slot, however, once I insert 2 sticks, I get no boot and the leds on the motherboard signal a DRAM problem. On the latest BIOS version. Any help?
  3. Why Dark Rock Pro 4 in tier 3 and H115i in tier 1? Is it that much of an improvement?
  4. should add that CPU and 3080 are overclocked. CPU temps are cool, it's really only my 3080 that has gotten as hot as 83 degrees Celsius.
  5. Included photos of my build. Using same exact fans except for keeping the rear fan in the new case, but essentially same exact setup. Fans are 2 Silent Wings 3 and 2 Pure Wings 2, along with 1 stock Corsair fan. Room is 80 degrees, but I still don't see how a completely closed off case (Silent Base 601) had equal or better temps than a case designed for airflow. I'm clearly doing something wrong here, just not sure what.
  6. Got an airflow case and somehow my temps got worse. anyone use a 4000D airflow? Right now I got 2 intake and 3 exhaust. What am I doing wrong? 10 degree temp increase from Be Quiet Silent Base 601 to Corsair 4000D airflow. This is a case that is supposed to have rather good airflow and for whatever reason my PC is nothing but a mini space heater right now. Seeing my GPU get as high as 83 degrees C. I've tried multiple fan configurations and adding the 2 exhaust fans on top have absolutely zero impact on temps.
  7. So I'm having some trouble with my headset (PC38X) and speakers (Logitech Z623). For whatever reason, I can't seem to run the both of them if they are plugged into my B450 Tomahawk. If I plug the headset into the front IO, everything works fine but I'd much rather prefer plugging them into the motherboard to reduce as much static as possible. However, if I plug both into the motherboard Realtek doesn't separate the sources. It just acts as if only the speakers are plugged in. And if I move the speakers to the front io and leave the headset on the motherboard, the volume doesn't reach the same max level it does when my headsets are plugged into the front io. I have a DAC coming on the way, but in the mean time if anyone has had a similar issue or knows some trick, please let me know.
  8. Hello, I'm currently thinking of going from a 3600 to 5800x but want to make sure I am making a smart decision. If I understand correctly, the higher the resolution I'm gaming at, the less the CPU matters? Because if I'm primarily going to be gaming at 4k and 1440p, would I be throwing dollars down the drain by getting a 5800x for minimal return? It'd only be costing me about $300 to get the 5800x and I'll be pairing it with a 3080. My primary games are Warzone and Cold War. Thanks for any advice!
  9. Just got the PC38X headset and am looking to pair it with a DAC but there are just so many options. Should I go with a X3? G6? Fulla 3? Hel? Just trying to get a bit more volume and clean up some microphone crackle that I think is due to my B450 Tomahawk.
  10. I have a very peculiar issue and could use some help. Recently, I've purchased multiple headsets trying to find the best fit for me. Razer Blackshark V2 Pros (which are wireless) never had this issue. Only my wired headsets (SteelSeries Arctis Pro and Sennheiser PC38Xs) have this issue. When I'm playing Warzone, even if my mic is muted, the in-game symbol still goes off and shows as if I'm talking. Similarly, even if my mic isn't muted and I'm silent as a mouse, the in-game symbols flashes as if I'm talking. Currently, my PC38Xs are connected through the front panel of my case. Now when I use this headset on PS5, I absolutely have zero issues. Mute the mic and it stops showing that I'm talking. It's strictly something to do with my PC that is causing some issue with any wired microphone. I've been thinking of buying a dac to solve this issue but I'm not sure that will even do anything. Motherboard is a MSI B450 Tomahawk and I think that along with the Realtek audio drivers is my issue here.
  11. The 12pin is like way smaller than where its supposed to connect on the gpu.
  12. Hello all, recently I purchased the Corsair 12-pin GPU power cable thinking I would solve some cable management issues and go from having to run two pci-e cables (one daisy-chained) to my 3080 into one simple cable. Problem is, I have absolutely no idea if I can use the cable. How are people using these micro fit 12 pin connector cables? Does this only work if I have the Nvidia 12pin adapter that comes with their founder's edition cards? Am I a total idiot and missing something? Tell me I'm not crazy and that I totally can't use this cable without some sort of adapter. (I have a Corsair PSU and a EVGA FTW 3 Ultra 3080)
  13. Thank you! Needed info like this. Article definitely convinced me it isn't worth upgrading for maybe an increase of 10fps.
  14. Very interesting. Thanks for the info! Definitely gives me something to think about.
  15. So I have a 3080 paired with a 3600 and I have gotten interested in the idea of upgrading to B550/Ryzen 5600x. However, I never realized how little CPUs seem to matter when it comes to trying to increase performance when gaming at 1440p or 4K. Unless I'm looking at the wrong videos, the benchmarks I'm seeing show best case scenarios of an increase of maybe 10fps in some games if I was to upgrade from the 3600. Would a move to 5600x be pointless if I'm gaming at 4k? Also, what about the people who say to not buy 6 cores headed into this new console generation? Would a move to 5800x make more sense? Thanks for any advice!
