    Solved. 
     
    I just had to update the bios using the USB Flashback 😅. 
     
    After that everything worked fine.

    Then I don't see why you shouldn't go for the 7500. It's supposedly 6-9% better.
     
    Nice build btw, I would add 8GB more RAM though. But that's just me, I'm a pretty heavy user.

    swap your GPU to the second GPU slot and monitor the issue if it surfaces again

    I'm willing to bet that I could easily create those example resolutions. Here are some of the resolutions I use for screenshots (all created in the nvidia control panel)
     

     
    The really high resolutions are only possible by reducing my framerate to 30hz. But I can create 5K resolutions @ 60hz easily.
    Monitor: QNIX QX2710 2560x1440
    Cable: Dual-link DVI
    GPU: 980TI 
     
    I could not create resolutions like that on this monitor until I switched to a maxwell GPU.
