  1. Thanks, really appreciate the response.
  2. Hey everyone, I have built a number of PCs for myself and friends in the past and am reasonably good about picking parts. However I have a friend who is looking for a new gaming computer and specifically wants one that is all black with red accents. I pretty much always get cases with no windows and aim for silence so never had to include the colour of a mobo or GPU let alone cables from cablemod. Nothing but gaming and not worried about large quantities of storage. Gig internet means re-downloading games is quick enough. We are located in Canada and my friends budget is $2,000 to $3,000 CAD for the rig plus monitor separately. Haven't decided on the monitor yet, but probably a 1440 @ 144hz or similar. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
  3. Kivy for Python is pretty good but C# generally has a lot better support for building desktop Windows clients. Basically, I agree with everything Mira said above.
  4. Oh man, you really want to start a religious war don't you. About the only think worse to ask is why someone would use Vim... Personally I can use either and I actively do. For development though I do prefer Mac. Windows just doesn't have a good terminal. Straight-up doesn't. iterm2 on the Mac is a god send. Windows has gotten better with Windows Subsystem for Linux but it still doesn't have a good terminal client. Mac also has a much better package manager with Brew. Windows has been getting better with Chocolatey but still has a long ways to go.
  5. Thats what I figured. Glad you were able to figure it out.
  6. Let me see if I understand right: You want to make a request to "<host>/<endpoint>" and you want the application receiving it to see the URL as "<host>/#/<endpoint>"? Other question: any chance this is an HTML application such as Vue/React/Angular?
  7. I really like the Ubiquiti gear. Getting something like the UniFi Security Gateway, adding in a POE switch, and then APs as required. Leaves lots of room to upgrade individual parts in the future as required. It's a little more expensive but I find it to be well worth it. I run the Unifi gear at home and at a number of family members houses.
