  1. I am not sure if I understand correctly but there wasn`t any external monitor plugged in when we tested it.
  2. Hi, Not sure if that is the right thread, please move if not. Here is the story, one of my colleagues has got a problem with her Lenovo company laptop. Her mic is very quiet during Teams calls (tested on Zoom and Teams Web and it`s the same issue). I was trying to troubleshoot it with her over Teams with shared screen, checked everything I can think of and nothing seems to work. We tested her Bluetooth headset too, to rule out the laptop mic, but it was exactly the same problem. She joined the call on Teams on her phone too, and guess what, it was still very quiet! But when I called her on that phone directly, the volume was perfectly fine. I checked all known settings in Windows and mic volume was at max, tried the mic boost setting too, and again, didn`t work. Tried all settings in Teams and Zoom too, and all of them seem fine. I asked her to record something on "Windows Voice Recorder" and she says that it seems to be working fine in the program but I wasn`t able to check it myself. The only thing I wasn`t able to do, was to uninstall mic driver and try a different one, as it is a company laptop and that option isn`t available. She will try some USB mic which I think might work, as USB mic will most likely install it`s own drivers. Have you got any suggestions? I am running out of ideas really. Cheers!
  3. So I cleaned old drivers with DDU and let Windows install it`s own driver. It ended up to be some 1 year old one. And surprise, everything is working perfectly smooth now. I see that this driver hasn`t got Adrenaline Software from AMD which was installed with the latest driver from AMD site. So I presume it might have been some option in this software that was causing problem.
  4. Hi Everyone, So up until now I was connecting my external monitor (HP x24ih) via DP (HP) --> USB-C (Zephyrus) and everything was working fine. No stutter at all, no issues. But since USB-C is using nVidia card and most of the time I am just browsing, I thought that I might actually connect it via HDMI-->HDMI, so iGPU is used instead and the laptop can stay cool while browsing. And this is when the problem starts, when connected over HDMI, I can see a very often stutter (like 0.5-1s) when I minimize/maximize window, open new chrome tab etc. on my Zephyrus screen (when on HP screen it`s flawless). What I mean is not a lag, it`s like a total freeze for 0.5-1s and it doesn`t happen all the time, just quite often. Have you got any idea what that might be? I can think of only about some issue with different screen resolution as Zephyrus has got QHD when HP has got FHD. EDIT: Now when I turned on some youtube video, it freezes for couple of seconds completely (no mouse movement, no video movement) but the sound is fine. And again, it happens only on Zephyrus screen, once moved to HP screen, everything is fine. Cheers
  5. I follow this guide to unistall - https://itsfoss.com/uninstall-ubuntu-linux-windows-dual-boot/ - and it is very strange, because I can`t see any Linux partition under Drive Management:
  6. Hi, So I have got Windows 10 and wanted to install Linux Mint to have a dual boot. I left 120GB unused partition for Linux. The problem is that during installation of Linux, I chose "Install Linux Mint alongside Windows" option instead of "Something else". As a result, I didn`t have any option to select partition so I assume that Linux installed itself on C partition "alongside Windows"? I have got dual boot, but I wanted to install Linux on this 120GB partition, so I would like to uninstall Linux now and install it again. The question is whether there is such option available at all because I don`t want to mess with my boot manager and lose C partition with Windows. Thank you for your help. Mike
  7. Hi Everyone, I just installed Samsung 970 Evo Plus 2TB in my new G14 2021 and something is not right with transfers. It gets spot on 1800mb/s for both Write and Read in CrystalDiskMark test and Samsung Magician, so it seems like the drive is stuck at Pcie 2x if I'm not wrong. The thing is that both HWInfoz CrystalDiskInfo and Samsung Magician are showing that the device works as Pcie 4x, not 2x. I installed Nvme driver from Samsung site but it changed nothing. Would much appreciate some help. Cheers EDIT: Strange, after I plugged in the charger, the transfer got back to normal. The thing is that for some strange reason, my Advanced Settings under battery icon is very limited, there is nearly nothing there, when my other laptop has got processor, SSD etc settings there. Where can I turn off SSD power settings that I believe this drive is under when on battery?
  8. Thanks for all replies! I asked WD Support, but it seems like they haven`t got a clue lol. If 1TB has got 12GB, then how is it possible that 2TB has got 8GB as they claim. There is a sale on Amazon.de for 970 Evo Plus 2TB - 167 Euro, phenomenal price and I think I am going to pull the trigger on that. I am just worried about temperatures, it will be installed in Zephyrus G14 laptop and I read that 970 Evo Plus tends to get hot Thank you for contacting Western Digital Customer Service and Support. My name is Selena Y am one of the level 2 technician. I really appreciate your patience. This email is in reference to inform you that in order to fetch the information about the SLC cache size, We had forwarded your case. Therefore, As per the response ,The WD Blue SN570 2TB has a Static SLC Cache size of 8GB.
  9. I'm thinking to buy 2tb model but looking at 1tb (the one reviewed everywhere) it seems like 1tb has got a very small SLC cache of around 12-14gb. Was wondering if 2tb would solve this issue eventually by having a larger cache? I cant find any info about that unfortunately.
  10. So SN770 2TB has got pretty much the same price as 970 Evo Plus 2TB. I don't really need PCIe 4.0, as its for Zephyrus G14 which supports 3.0 anyway but since it's the same price, I thought that its better to be ready for the future. But what about Idle power consumption of this model? WD usually has got higher Idle consumption than Samsung and they say that this is the most important factor for laptops. And what about temperature as 970 Evo Plus can have high temperature in laptops they say?
  11. Hi Guys, Any update on that story? I've just bought this motherboard and have the same issue, X5670 is on its way to me but I don't know if my bios will recognise this processor. I've attached the version of my bios, can't even check anywhere whether it's the latest one as Intel deleted everything from their site (shame on you Intel).
  12. Hi Everyone, I am planning to change Dell 7490 to HP 845 G7 as I bought a used one really cheap. The thing is that HP has got terrible display, it`s 250nits 60% sRGB. I thought that I might actually try to swap Dell`s screen to HP, as Dell has got a nice 300nit nearly 100% sRGB. The question is whether Dell`s screen will fit this HP model? Is there any way to check it before taking everything apart? Dell`s screen is - https://www.panelook.com/N140HCE-G52-Innolux-14-IPS-LCM-19201080-300nits-WLED-eDP-30pins-CMN14D3-detail_59402.html HP`s screen is - LG Philips LGD064E - unfortunately I can`t find any details anywhere. Google picks up only this HP 845 G7 review where this model is mentioned so I don`t know it`s dimensions and depth. Thanks in advance!
  13. It is 16gb DDR4, so plenty of ram. Not sure how exactly DRAMless nvme works, all I know is that it`s better to have DRAM rather than not
  14. 500GB no doubt. You won`t notice a difference during standard usage of computer.
  15. Hey Guys, I have currently got Intel 660p 2tb installed in my Dell 7490 but have never managed to fill it up to 1TB so I thought to replace it with WD SN550 1TB I just bought for my PC. Is DRAMless WD fine as a system drive? I know there are faster drives like P5 but I have already got these two and they are both pretty low temperature drives which is important in a laptop. What puzzles me is my ATTO score I got which you can see below and compare it to WD drives I linked. https://www.servethehome.com/wd-black-sn750-500gb-review/2/ https://www.legitreviews.com/wd-blue-sn550-1tb-nvme-sdd-review_216104/4 https://ibb.co/Sy3GS3B - how is it possible that 660p on QLC has got so much higher low size files transfer than WD drives I linked above? Thanks in advance!
