I've recently got a new NVME ssd for my dell poweredge r420. I've got it sat in a Startech 3 port PCI-E card. It works great, I can create datastores etc in ESXI and virtual machines are extremely fast. However, when I run a crystaldiskmark benchmark on it the disk errors and shows up in ESXI with 0B. Rebooting the host resolves the problem. Something I've noticed is that If I run just two tests on Crystaldiskmark, it doesn't stop working and shows the expected speeds (Excess of 3000MB/s). Except for the server all the kit is new so I think a faulty part may be rare in this case but I'm not sure if anyone here has had a similar issue. Here's the hardware I'm using inside the R420. Peer to Peer ethernet link vlan query
computerwiz123 replied to computerwiz123's topic in Servers, NAS, and Home Lab
Actually, I didn't think about that that'll work much better, thanks! Then in this case, I can specify a block all and specify what my friend can access on 'MyLAN'. -

Peer to Peer ethernet link vlan query

I've currently got PFSense working on that server but I'd like to pipe both my two LAN networks down that single cable and wondered if it's possible to simply define vlan 50 on each end if that makes sense. -

Sorry I didn't make that clear. It's VMWare ESXI. -
Hi, So essentially, I've got a server co-located at a datacenter at the moment my plan was to create a virtual switch so I could effectively daisy chain off the back of my server (meaning I won't pay additional costs). Would it be possible to create a port group for example with vlan 50 and another with vlan 60 and do the same on another host and have seperate networks? Would this work? Unfortunately, I don't have the hardware to trial it yet. TIA

I'd go for an i5 4690k and a decent z97 motherboard. Ooh and i'd recommend a hyper 212 evo for air cooling too.

Basically i didn't take pictures of my build but i will put some pics in this post. Bottom line is i used to run an i5 4670k and i wanted to watercool it. At a lan in the uk (Insomnia 52) me and a couple friends picked out some parts for liquid cooling because we could get the parts delivered to our LAN Desks on the same day at no extra cost. So we bought a monsoon reservoir thinking it had a pump in.... How wrong we all where! Thing is... It kept leaking out of the back of the res and (Supposed pump) We then realised that it didn't have a pump inside it :L. The next day i went to the overclockers booth and told them what had happened and they re-funded my reservoir and said it was absolutely fine. We then ordered a new reservoir with a pump this time!!! The main parts such as the block, radiator etc where leak proof and after we got the new pump res combo installed it was all up and running. I took the system back to my desk and the cpu was sitting at 30 degrees. A man then came over with an intel id and said. "Are you that guy with the watercooling leak?" And i said. "yeah....." Then the guy from intel said "Oh we felt sorry for you so we gave you a FREE i7 4790k." *hands me the box*" I then stand up in horror and think this guy's gotta be joking.... Then i opened the box and saw the chip i then put down the box and i shook his hand and hugged him. (Best. Iseries. Ever.) So here's my system now. I still need to update it on my profile remember i still needed to get a new mobo that's installed now. i7 4790k 4.00ghz 8gb's ddr3 ram 1600mhz (Oddish ram) 120gb ssd samsung 840 evo Casecom cs-13 (Love this case they don't make it anymore ;( ) Nvidia GTX 770 2Gb Asus Z97-Pro [WiFi-AC] CX600M Here's some sexy pics. All on this directory on my web server. https://solidsquad.co.uk/watercooling

SSL Cert applied locally but not on domain.
computerwiz123 replied to computerwiz123's topic in Networking
Oh wait i've fixed the problem. I didn't forward the right port i had the ip address wrong lol. My bad sorry. -
I've started a previous thread but no-one replied so i'm starting a new one where i should've posted in the first place. (Lol) Here's my post I've bought an ssl certificate and i've installed it. It's installed correctly because when i connect to it locally (https://192.168.8.6) is comes up with an error saying url doesn't match certificate and comes up with certificate info etc like comodo. But when i try to access the website externally it has an error and the cert is assigned to localhost not the cert i was using locally. If anyone can help honestly thank you! I've been playing with this all day and if i fix this everything's sorted . Thanks
