  1. Hi folks, I'm weighing up between 2 laptops: The Zephyrus GX701GX (RTX2080 Max-Q) and the Zephyrus S GX502GW (RTX2070 - Non Max Q) The computers are interesting to me because of their gaming chops, both have 240hz screens, and can be used with USB-C PD for general productivity work - which is helpful in not having to lug the power cable to the office each day. At work it would be a mix of using it with the lid closed to an external monitor, and presenting on the main screen (in Optimus mode). At home again, generally with an external Ultrawide as my primary (only) monitor. For travel I'd definitely be using the laptop screen and would appreciate its capabilities at that point. Both laptops achieve the above handily, however the GX502 is a fair bit smaller and lighter. My question is really in relation the GPU choice. I'm unsure as to why the 2070 non max Q was opted for over the 2080 max Q. The power draw on the 2070 is higher than the 2080 maxq -does this translate to expected higher performance? Or just hitting a thermal wall sooner? I found the following page to be helpful for comparison of their performance: https://www.notebookcheck.net/GeForce-RTX-2070-Laptop-vs-GeForce-RTX-2080-Max-Q-vs-GeForce-RTX-2070-Max-Q_9551_9621_9611.247598.0.html It appears the 2 GPUs are effectively neck in neck with one coming out ahead of the other in some but not all games tested - assuming the Laptop variant of the 2070 is what is going into the GX502... The 2 laptops are of comparable price, but the GX502 is 15.6 inches, which is preferable for me. Does anone have any experience with the laptop variant of the 2070? Is there a risk of any sort of battery life hit with the 2070 while running in Optimus? (My understanding is the discrete GPU is totally bypassed when in Optimus mode so I'd expect not?) Just curious if anything aside from size would be noticeable between the 2 in gaming/general usage. Thanks!
  2. Hi all, loved the review, picked up a GX701 here in New Zealand from a local retailer- no webcam!! they say they have no idea about any webcam being included. any ideas? If it’s a regional thing it seems like a way to screw the international market?
