  1. If you don’t care for price and have a fully modular psu get custom sleeved from a person who does this... that will be best quality. If non modular get extensions from a name brand.
  2. Used... generally safe join a community for this and ask lots of questions, and be patient you will get a full pc for that
  3. What currency? I think a cpu and ram upgrade will do you really well that gpu is pretty good so I would consider a r9 3950x aftermarket cooler and 16 mor go of ram
  4. Yo here offers rob fans with wireless controller https://www.amazon.com/upHere-Wireless-Airflow-Adjustable-Radiators/dp/B07DHM6SW9/ref=sr_1_2?crid=DURRAWOUNMX1&keywords=uphere+rgb+fan&qid=1581360396&sprefix=Up+here+%2Caps%2C215&sr=8-2
  5. Flash bios go to motherboard manufacturers website find boon under ur mobo and look up guide, chances are it has no cpu flash
  6. Or u can try getting a cheap r3 1200 and then sell it lol idk that’s a tough position.
  7. No problem but be careful what office pc you get, if you find a optiplex go for that
  8. Could be the gpu I would try running out of the mobo if you can for setup
  9. Probably wanna ring some pc with an i7 2600 or better and then put in a RX 5500 which iirc doesn’t need any power besides what the motherboard gives so essentially no psu swap. However this would I’m sure over due your budget by maybe £50 so here is the 2nd option (bear with me): find a £90 used office pc like you said look for an i7 in it and the cheaper you can get an i7 in a pc the better as it will for sure allow for any decent gpu that can run modern titles not to mention HT (hyper threading) whisk modern titles seem to crave. Get a £50-60 rx 570 used (requieres power connection) so before you buy this look into the pc and see if there is a misc pcie connector in there (preferably in the gpu there then perform the swap and there you have it a gaming pc on a budget. But I have more to say in this post, it’s more involved but bigger risk bigger reward get a dell optiplex mid tower or MT and this time cpu doesn’t matter because we will replace it. Hopefully find one with 3000 intel cpu then get a 20 dollar 4c8t Xeon and out that in there, the replace psu with 500w psu and them get the rx 580 4 or 8 gigabyte versión and there you have it a beast 5hat will last you for 3+ Years of solid aaa games. That’s what I would do
  10. just looked at the x58 mad lads WOW thats some cool stuff is it worth me going into x58 territory? the 1680 v3/2 is out of my price rance ive set my self a hard cap at 350 trying to keep it at 300 USD just because im not doing this for any other reason than to learn the ropes of older tech and squeezing juice out of cpus. anyway im pretty set on a xeon, and my hope is that all will go well and i can sell the rig that i make for 400 usd to one of my friends. u seem to know a lot about x58 and x99 i think x99 might be a little outside of 300 usd however looking into x58 and x79 i can see it doable in my budget of 300usd. that being said from what ive seen the x79 would yeils more bang fopr the buck if i cant get good deals on them. any suggestion of where to start for this budget?
  11. I’m not planning on becoming an addict but ya know thing may go south or north depending on how you look at it ?. Anyway what would be the best cpu for x78 1680? I really don’t know I’ll spend some time on my pc tonight looking around but maybe you can give me a place to start.
  12. @Zando Bob this is more about the experience of working with older hardware. I’ve very new to the pc building scene maybe 4 years ago is when I built my first rig Ive built 4 in total a 2nd one for me recently and 2 for my friends. This project is seeing how fast I can get only tech to go and see if I can make a decent photo/video editing rig for 300-400 usd. My first question regarding the motherboard has been answered... my next question is about the cpu for a decent photo editing and gaming rig what Xeon would be good for me I am personally thinking about: e5 1650, or if I change to a x58 probably muck cheaper a w3670. Or even moving into the x99 range. What cpus would you guys recommend. (Bear this in mind I’m not doing this to get a really good pc it’s for me to build and my friend will be buying it from me if I get it all to work. All suggestions welcome.
  13. Are the cheap x79 boards from China good or ok at overclocking? Would it be worth getting a p9x79 or rampage motherboard for over clocking, any suggestions are welcome I’m trying to make a good gaming workstation for 300 usd so yeah that’s my goal. Anything will help especially people who know more about the China boards etc thanks in advanced
  14. Yeah so it seems not doable however probs not worth unless u want to any ways thanks
  15. yes that is the other optin its for sure doable if i cut and mess with the bracket but in the vid where it details how it works its using inner holes so im not sure why they say its not compatible?
  16. Alright, so i've made a few posts and seen a few posts related to this. however i wanted to explain the problem i'm faced with because there are multiple websites saying that the g12 bracket and 2060 s are compatible but the NZXT website states that a "known incompatibility" for the G12 bracket is the RTX 2060 (super) . so here is my evidence compiled: https://www.nzxt.com/products/kraken-g12-black https://www.google.com/url?sa=i&source=images&cd=&ved=2ahUKEwj_yOfQtIvnAhUMr54KHalBDQMQjRx6BAgBEAQ&url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.reddit.com%2Fr%2FNZXT%2Fcomments%2Fbxz76n%2Fkraken_g12_working_unmodified_with_rtx_2060%2F&psig=AOvVaw36SI8WxvlKDm9S4vkh94OD&ust=1579377180749160 with these two pictures i cant tell the difference from the holes closest to the gpu with i think are the holes used. so please help me i just need to make sure that it is fully compatible.
  17. Lol ok so bad idea haha I figured
  18. Ah thanks i barely know what an oscilloscope is and since they cost more than the gpu it’s self I may as well not lol thanks. As for a hoy I have a 2060 s but I want to water cool it so I may try that it’s not just wanting to get into modding
  19. It it worth buying a 1080 ti for 500 bucks used? Or getting a broken one and trying to fix it, if I did the fixing way what would I look for in a broken card like what problems are maybe not to do with the pcb?
  20. That post has a 2080 tho? Or wait... idk NZXT says not and this shows yes
  21. yes this is why i want the pcb of the 2060 super so i can compare them... i actually found it but still not sure if it will work https://www.techpowerup.com/gpu-specs/evga-rtx-2060-super-sc-ultra.b7028#gallery-7 here is my pcb and it looks like it might work
