  1. Hi all, I currently play BF 5 Online primarily on my desktop i5 10400 + 1660 super. However I plan on travelling and gaming on a laptop. Currently torn between Asus F15 11400h a 6 core 12 thread and Asus Dash F15 with a 4 core 8 thread. The Dash F15 looks like it's better built, asthetically pleasing compared to the cheep plasticy looking F15. I am also eyeing a MSI GF65 10750h + 2060 also better built than the plasticy F15. (I don't mind the cheap looking plastic, my main concern is the durability of the hardware) + (I plan on playing the new BF 2042) + (I don't mind the lower FPS of the 2060, I just need a laptop that won't have a part that fails) + (I'll only need my laptop to last 2-3 years) Of the three models the 6 core Asus F15 seems like it would be the best performer, however it would cost more than the other two, but would it last nearly as long? Could the WiFi fail? Could the motherboard fail? As I am new to the laptop world I am not well versed in the durability/ reliablity of brands and their various models, help appreciated! 2. @JonoT Hi, International candidate here, didn't win, but chances were very low to begin with lolz, would appreciate if anybody check this video out: For all those who lost lol; including me; here's a fitting video:
  3. I am glad it fixed your problem, sadly I couldn't find any startup items that might be causing this, no win update service, nada! My issue of chrome freezing still persists!
  4. HELP ME!!! I don't know if you've been having the same issues i've been having but.....my Chrome is constantly freezing at random, there's no knowing when it will freeze, but when it does, it only does that between 1-5 seconds max, when it starts working 5 seconds later, it runs fine for another 10mins or so, honestly there is no discernible pattern to this. *I have no idea what to do, but here are some things I tried:* 1. Uninstall/Re-install 2. Update 3. Remove all extensions 4. Moved to Firefox; but I like Chrome more My desktop is an i5 4460, 8GB RAM, GTX1050, SSD, HDD Something funny: I have Chrome installed on a 2014 bottom of the line HP laptop, this thing is SLOW, (AMD E1- 1500 CPU) , Windows 8. Google Chrome on this machine NEVER freezes, I'ts also running the latest version. TLDR: Chrome freezing for 5secs on desktop, but not on slow laptop.
  5. My desktop takes 30 seconds to identify network..., happened suddenly for no reason. Normally it would connect instantly as my PC booted to the desktop. I tried testing it on my laptop, thinking that it might have been a driver issue, but my laptop too took 30 seconds to connect to the internet as well. Tried turning on UPnP on and off, didn't help, installed all the latest drivers, didn't help. Changed Duplex speed thing to 100 Full and Half, didn't help, tried setting up a static IP, didn't help, restarted modem and both PCs, didn't help. Again...this problem began last week, hasn't gone away since, and I didn't make any changes to the modem either. Using my ISP's modem.
  6. Hi, I have a Windows PC that has started to give me trouble ever since I reinstalled the OS, I had a virus in my system (adware) so I decided to format the SSD (850 evo) and reinstall the latest Windows 10 from MS's website using my 8GB Transcend USB pendrive. Upon restarting the system I noticed a few random things, my network adapter takes 30 seconds to identify a network, I keep hearing a windows USB disconnection notification noise every now and then (get's annoying sometimes), and this has happened twice already but when I turned my PC on and left the room, my PC was stuck on a black screen, it wouldn't boot. I have installed Windows properly a couple times since then but to no avail, making me wonder if it's a hardware issue. I live in India which by default means I am on a tight budget. (LOL) could my motherboard have been effed up? Since it's already potato quality (h81) Thank you for taking the time to read this! - I bought all this junk in DEC 2015 i5 4460 Asus H81MCs DDr3(4x2) GTX750ti upgraded to GTX1050 in 2016 Seasonic ECO430w Samsung 850 eco 120GB WD Blue 1TB
  7. The network adapter restarting issue is actually gone (bec it hasn't happened so far, i think i might have previously installed a bad driver). However, when PC wakes from sleep or from a state of shutdown, the network adapter takes 30 seconds to identify. The reason I believe that it might be a virus (adware) is because I did accidentally install one before I formatted windows (logically it should be gone, I am sure it is so I don't really know what's causing it) I have installed windows on this machine in the past without having to meddle with the drivers at all, and the network adapter has always functioned as it should. I am using a desktop, Asus H81m/ 4460 i5/ Gskill (4x2)GB DDR3/ Samsung 850EVO/ WD Blue 1TB On a side note: Windows has become extremely buggy and unreliable, I was trying to get Origin to remember my password to play BF5 but it straight out refuses to. I have had multiple bugs annoy me in the past, and I think I am not alone in assuming that Windows has certainly gotten buggier ever since that Indian guy became CEO, and being an Indian myself I can tell you that the people here are not quality conscious at all....... I mean just look at the darn UI, you have settings AND control panel, and it's impossible to find control panel without typing it out in the search bar. You either have to be a freaking genius or a god to know how to operate this OS, I would buy Apple but you can't play games on it, and it costs an arm and a leg specially for someone living in this god forsaken country! If you know a way I can play GTA Online and Battlefield 5 Online on Linux or whatever, please do let me know that it is possible, I have quite frankly wasted too much of my life trying to get windows to work as it should, and I HATE the UI! HATE IT!
  8. Hi, accidentally installed an adware, wouldn't uninstall, and a random virus that made my network adapter take forever to identify.... a network, so I reinstalled windows 10 from their media creation tool (Microsoft Website - USB bootable) formatted my main drive. I did not enter a Windows key when prompted during installation, and when the process was complete, Windows showed that it was activated. I did not enter my Microsoft account either, why was it activated? The issue with the network adapter persists, and it's gotten worse to the point where it tends to restart at random. (and takes forever to identify...) can't seem to figure out why I am unable to get this crap working despite the fact that I've formatted & installed Windows 4 times today, why does it seem to remember my key? TY!
  9. Yep I've decided that I'll do exactly just that, I'll keep the HP tower (and peripherals) though lol, it's been my family desktop since 2003. It's kind of like a sleeper setup. Same stuff as in the image below, except I have the same keyboard, chassis, speakers, UPS. But a newer monitor and mouse.
  10. Why does it appear to run smoother when lowered from 1360x768 to 1280x720? Also my CPU is always running at around 99-100% all the time, and GPU around 60-70%
  11. Hi, I am thinking of purchasing an i7 4770 for $174. Cheapest used i7 4770 in my country. I presently have an i5 4460 and it has started to show it's age. I play Battlefield 5 and can only play at 1280x720p LOW to get an acceptablish framerate, 50-60 (sometimes even high 40s rarely 30s). I am sick of these random frame lags so I was wondering if upgrading to the i7 would at all help? I just want to be able to maintain 50-60fps at LOW 1360x768 (native). i5 4460 GTX1050 8GB seasonic 430w
  12. Hello, I have a piece of garbage HP AMD 1500 APU laptop that for some reason has 6GB RAM running Windows 8, I have managed to remove all the bloatware and the laptop runs fine for daily use as a word processor and a light browser/ youtube player. My issue with this piece of rubbish is that since the CPU is slow darn crap (300%+ slower than my desktop i5 4460) YouTube runs like absolute turd, forget playing videos at 720p, even at 144p because of the way YouTube has "evolved since 2014 (when I first got this thing)" videos on the sidebar take forever to load, and I get horrendous choppy playback at 100mbps UP&DOWN. I can see that the videos buffer just fine, but play in a laggy manner, which has led me to believe that it's the computer's fault. I installed a chrome VLC extension that lets you play any youtube video using VLC, and I get butter smooth playback at 720p. I gave Firefox a try, and the experience has been great so far, I can play videos at 480p now with very minimal lag (hardly ever lags), but the overall experience is still.......slow. I want to know weather there's an OS that uses so little CPU resource that you have enough juice to run a decent web browser. like lubuntu maybe, I don't really have any experience with linux based OSes, only ever used Windows my whole life?
  13. Yes I just learnt that lol, makes sense, I wonder why I even thought that my 4460 was drawing power from the 5V rail. Odd.
