  1. I don't remember exactly what the motherboard platform is, but I do remember checking and whatever it was this was the highest end CPU on the platform. Plus, since it's a Dell proprietary PC you still run the risk of incompatibility even with a CPU that should be compatible. When I get a chance I'll check what exactly the CPU is.
  2. Hi, So I've been working on setting up a PC to livestream at my church (think $69 Gaming PC-esque - Old Dell Vostro) and it seems like it should be compatible with the Arc A38, but just becuase I can, should I? Would it actually improve encoding performance on a CPU that's already quite old? We are streaming to YouTube only, so AV1 should be possible. I don't have immediate access to the PC right now, so I can't provide specific specs at the moment, but I can at request and with some time. (For context, the PC also runs a PowerPoint which is advanced during the church's service. As well as OBS to Record and Livestream the service.) (Currently, low-bitrate streams work fine, but if the bitrate is raised to even a moderate amount, the encoding gets overloaded.) (It would also be nice to have more than just two display outputs, that way we can have an actual presenter view for the person running the PowerPoint instead of using a splitter, as we are at the moment.)
  3. Not sure if this is completely the correct place but I will put it here anyway sinceore appropriate threads are locked. Regarding the LMG Sponsor "Do Not Work With List," are dietary supplements intentionally left off of the list. I seem to recall this being Linus' personal policy and he said so here in this thread that he would talk to the business team and follow-up next week. However, there was no follow-up that I could find. But, I may have missed it depending on where it might have been posted. In the recent interest of transparency, I was wondering if LMG would be willing to share the official policy regarding dietary supplement sponsorships (or make it more visible if there was already a policy posted somewhere since I was unable to find it.) Edit: I will be more than happy to make a separate thread in general discussion or some other sub-forum if that is perferred.
  4. Does anyone know if Jasco/Enbrighten/GE smart switches work with a Phillips Hue Hub? I have heard conflicting information about this and the ZigBee spec seems to be very flimsy when it comes to compatibility. As well as Phillips Hue hubs seeming to be selective with what they will work with.
  5. I really hope @LinusTechand/or Luke talks about the Pixel 7 broken camera issue on WAN show because it seems like Google might be refusing to cover this under warranty as it was "the engineers deliberated about this issue they decided NOT to include this as a part of the warranty." (Source) To be clear, I do have a vested interest since I have this same issue and am awaiting a "email from their escalation team'" (See Here).
  6. Running out of ideas I see... @LinusTech
  7. BACK TO SCHOOL LAPTOP + BACK TO SCHOOL PC Question + Idea: Question: Will there be a back to school laptop video like previous years? Idea: Maybe this year since many are staying home you could integrate a section about building a back to school PC into the laptop video or even create a whole separate video.
  8. Idea for Channel Super Fun (Courtesy of Roobierut's Comment On THIS YT community post): 2 teams should try to shave a side of linus beard with 2 different sponsored shaving methods. Yvonne + the kids judge which team was best... Of course, that is after COVID-19 is over... Again, Full credit goes to Roobierut's Comment On THIS YT community post... As stated on his second comment, "Also, anyone who wants to post this to the video suggestions topic on the forum, go ahead! I can't register for some reason"
