  1. Can you recommend a good starting voltage/clock speed to start off at? Should I just go stock clock and then up it until the voltage can't handle it then go from there?
  2. I'll check out Linus' video, thanks! I just copied that because I'm not familiar at ALL with any of the settings in the BIOS related to overclocking, so I felt like someone with a similar motherboard/cpu was a good base starting point.
  3. Hey, so I'm trying to get into overclocking my CPU which I've had for a while and after following der8auers https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CoUtA7DKXhU guide step by step I booted into Windows and immediately downloaded Prime 95 with "CpuSupportsAVX=0" put in the local to disable AVX I'm hitting 90 degrees within minutes of starting it, this isn't normal is it? My specs: Case: Air 540 with two extra Fractal R3 fans up top Motherboard: Z370-A Prime CPU: i7 8700k CPU Cooler: R1 Universal GPU: EVGA 1080 TI SC RAM: 16 GB DDR4 3000 MHz PSU: EVGA 750W Gold Out of the whole year owning my CPU I've never bothered to overclock and I've watched two video tutorials so far on it and have not managed to have success following either one. The other one I followed was this: https://youtu.be/bD1Ze80GpLo by Boosted Media and copying those settings from his BIOS and trying to emulate it led me to failing the OCCT test with over 400 errors. I went back in and tried raising the voltage but to no prevail. If anyone can end helping me get this working stable I will literally PayPal you $25 LOL, I've built PCs all my life with my Dad teaching me since I was young but when it comes to overclocking I honestly feel like I have a mental deficiency. My idle temps: https://imgur.com/a/xdUnH2Q 5 Minute OCCT Test: https://imgur.com/a/hVVSMt2 Some BIOS pics: https://imgur.com/a/4kc5zj4 let me know if you need ANYTHING.

  6. Thanks, dude! Appreciate the GPU recommendation.
  7. No way, thanks guys! Just saved me $50-60... Solid fuckin' move, really appreciate it.
  8. Would a 450W PSU (CORSAIR CX Series CX450) be enough to power this system I'm putting together? Specs: CPU: R5 3600 MOBO: ASRock B450M Micro ATX MEMORY: G.Skill Ripjaws V Series 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3200 Memory STORAGE: Samsung 860 Evo 500 GPU: EVGA GeForce GTX 1660 Ti 6 GB SC ULTRA CASE: NZXT H510 ATX Mid Tower PSU: CX450
  9. Haha he says: "Jacobtechtips you the man, tell him he's a God" LMFAO - he's ecstatic right now, thanks again homie.
  10. Bro you did it! He put it in a different SATA PORT (he's new to computers and this is his first build he's doing all by himself) he says thank you so much!
  11. Thanks buddy, I'll have a look - appreciate the assistance.
  12. I appreciate the help Jacob, haha - it's all good. When he takes out his NVMe the drives show again.. any solution?
  13. They aren't showing up in his Windows either, even during the initial Windows installation.
  14. Nope, any other info you need I can reply with immediately - I'm on a call with him. They were showing up before he put in the NVMe - but I don't know if that would interfere with it.
  15. My friend is having issues with his PC he just put together, everything is running good but his HDD and SSD are not being recognized, although is NVMe is. Any help boys? Appreciate it in advance
  16. This is a temp case he's just going to be using for 2 days til his official one arrives, is it okay if the standoff screws are not mounted to the case as we don't have them? It shouldn't make a difference so long as we don't move it, correct?

I'm going to be building a PC for my buddy as a gift for his birthday, and I was wondering if this is a good build? He's going to be buying his own 144hz monitor, and I'm buying him the PC so I just wanted to make sure I'm getting the best bang for my buck here. Thanks in advance!
  18. @Constantin My bad for the question after the question lol, but do you think this is an optimal air flow setup? The blue markers are what I already have - I just plan on adding two more to the top.
  19. @ConstantinThanks my man, didn't even know that was an option! Just ordered one.
  20. Hey guys! Looking to squeeze one more fan into my air 540 case, and I seen a slot on my Z370-A Prime called: EXT_FAN, could I plug a case fan into there? It's 5 pin and my fan is 3. Sorry in advance if it's a dumb question LOL
