Hello, I'm sorry if this is the wrong thread but I couldn't find one that made sense for my question. I hope everyone's is doing good I have 2 desktop pc's and 2 monitors, I am able to use only 1 mouse and 1 keyboard for both systems, which is great, but here is my thing; I would like to be able to also use both monitors as dual screen for only one of those pc's and to be able to switch back and forth between each pc using its own monitor and both monitors as dual for just one of the pc's. Hopefully I'm explaining myself well. PS: both monitors have only one input socket (hdmi). Thank you in advance.

I've never done an event as a photographer, but I would like to start to look for small gigs asap. Does anyone here have experience in terms of arranging an event photography with a client? Like going to an event and photographing it. If you could help me know which are the questions I should ask my future clients when it comes to things like photos size they want, their format, how to deliver the photos to the client, and such? Basically a short run down as to how the conversation should go (overall) when asking the client for what they want when it comes to the photos I will be taking. Basically what are the things I should ask the client and the things I should know when it comes to doing a professional job at an event photography gig. I have searched the internet, but I can't find anything clear. Thank you in advance.

I have a very slow system and I was thinking adding 16gb more of more RAM could give it a kick. HP pro 6300 SFF i7-3770 (non K) It's a very old system so this is the fastest CPU my mobo can use. GTX 1050 ti 4gb 16gb DDR3 Ram 500 gb SSD So, is 32gb RAM an overkill for this? Thanks I mainly use it for 1080p video processing, but some gaming here and there. Currently playing Destiny 2. P.S: Question, other than cpu, gpu, and ram, what else can give a system like this a bump in performance? Thanks in advance.

I'm new to the gaming side of PC's. I used to play video games as a kid but stopped playing right around the time the PS2 came out. I'm looking to play pc games to kill time before bed, but every game I try are so complex to me. I really like that games have such high graphics nowadays, but the mechanics of the games are too complex for my limited understanding. Can you recommend games that are first person and open world but that are simple. My main set back with nowadays games is that they require you to learn so many different stuff just to get through the game. No 2D or retro games please. I want to get into advanced games, but I need something easy to start off with. Thank you for any suggestions.

I have an in integrated graphics card in my motherboard and a dedicated graphics card as well and I use two monitors, both are plugged to my dedicated graphics card (GTX 1050 ti). Would it be less of a load on my dedicated graphics card if I plug one monitor to dedicated graphics card and one monitor to the integrated graphics card? Or would it not make a difference? I'm looking to upgrade the CPU in my pc and I wanted to make sure it's compatible before I buy it. The PC itself is a custom built I bought off eBay. It's really confusing to me because when I look up the CPU that is currently in use in my motherboard is a i5-3470 and when I look up the socket type for this on google, it says it "sockets supported: FCLGA1155" Link for this https://ark.intel.com/content/www/us/en/ark/products/68316/intel-core-i5-3470-processor-6m-cache-up-to-3-60-ghz.html When I look online at the manual for my PC model, which is HP PRO 6300 SFF, it says the processor socket is a "Intel LGA775 processor socket" http://static.highspeedbackbone.net/pdf/HP Compaq Pro 6300 Series Business PC Quick Specs.pdf The CPU I want to upgrade to is a i7-4790 and it says it uses a FCLGA1155 socket, which is the same socket that my current CPU uses. Maybe it's not the stock original motherboard? Does it makes sense that if my current processor uses a FCLGA1155 socket that I could buy any processor with that socket? Something does not add up. Can someone help me with this? I don't want to buy the i7-4790 and then have to return it, pay for shipping etc. Here is a screenshot of my mother board specs

I'm running a i5-3470 on my pc with a gtx 1050 ti 4gb and 16gb of RAM. Will upgrading the CPU to an i7-4790 help with faster video render times? Will it make that much of a difference? Thank you.

Thank you for that. I benchmarked the four cards combine and the 2x8gb separatedly and I get a lower FPS when I combine the 4 cards than when I just use the 2x8gb only. Is it safe to assume that I'm better off using the 2x8gb cards alone?

How can you tell? I'd like to learn how one can know.

Thanks, that makes me a happy puppy. I decided to benchmark it, and I got very similar results. But by the way, I am using two monitors as one 3840x1080p with a MSI GTX Geforce 1050 ti Low Profile and an i5-3470 right as I type this. Blessings.

One quick question. When using dual monitors, which of these two activities is heavier on the GPU? Using the two monitors as a duo but in 1080p each monitor or using both monitors as one in 3840x1080p resolution? Thanks.

Hello. I need advice on choosing the right CPU. My setup is a base HP Pro 6300 SFF with a GTX 1050 ti 4GB, 16GB of RAM, and an i5-3470 in it; so I guess I'm limited to Intel CPU's? I'm looking to upgrade the processor for the purpose of faster video editing and processing. I record my videos in 2.7K and render the video in 1080p, and I use Vegas Pro 17 for that. What would be a good CPU to upgrade to from my i5-3470 that is in the $100-$150-ish range that would allow me to get faster rendering speeds editing 4K video for example? Hopefully I'm not asking to much of you. My other question is, within that budget, is any CPU really worth upgrading to? Would it make that much of a difference? Thank you.

I just tested that and yes, both monitors look equally bad when plugged by VGA. Anything else I could try?

I only tried 1 VGA cable since I only purchased 1, but I guess I could buy a better one? Not sure. Yeah, I tried disconnecting the HDMI monitor altogether from the laptop and the VGA monitor still looks the same, blurry and with shadows everywhere. The monitor using VGA shows 1080p under the "display settings" in Windows 10. I tried many different resolutions including resolutions lower and higher than 1080p and they all look as blurry and shadows everywhere. The native resolution of the monitor is 1080p. I'm pretty sure it's outputting the 1080p resolution. At least it shows it's at 1080p in the "display settings" of Windows 10.

Do you mean how bad do I think 480p looks? If so, then yes. Both displays have a native resolution of 1080p. Thee monitor running on VGA not only looks very blurry but also everything has a shadow.

I connected two of the exact same model monitors (HP VH240A) to my laptop. One monitor is connected through HDMI and it works and looks flawless. But the second monitor is connected to the same laptop using a VGA cable (since the laptop only has 1 HDMI port). But the monitor using the VGA has a very blurry image. I installed the VGA software that HP recommends for monitors using VGA, but it doesn't make a difference. I did a Google search and the only thing I can find is to "unplug the monitor and plug it back in" I tried it but it didn't do anything. I tried connecting the blurry monitor to the HDMI and the image was as clear as the first monitor. They are both using the same resolution, which is 1080p and both are being used as an extension of the other. Anyone has any other suggestions how to fix this? Any help will be very appreciated.

What stops me is Vegas Pro. I tried every video editing that works on Linux, but nothing renders as fast as Vegas Pro for windows. Honestly that is all that stops me from switching to Linux 100%.

Agreed. But also over time people are finding out that at 8/10 they can fix the issue by doing a Google search on how to fix it, which has saved my butt quite a few times. This path may be more prominent if you work for very large IT companies though.

Hello. I have a question, and hopefully this is the right thread. I have a really old Asus G73jh laptop and I am using an external monitor using the HDMI outlet of my graphics card. I would love to add a second monitor to my laptop, which would use the VGA outlet. The question is could my system handle it? The main use of the second monitor is for following photo editing video tutorial using Gimp. Here is my laptop's specs: ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5870 SERIES 6GB of DDR3 RAM 500GB SSD DRIVE Can my laptop handle a second external monitor? Thanks in advance.

I am looking to purchase a new pre-built computer desktop but the one I have my eyes on comes with 8 GB of DDR4 ram. I am also a content creator on Youtube and I edit videos on a regular basis. But the key thing is that with this new PC I want to be able to edit 4K video at 30 fps (and eventually in the future at 60 fps.) My question is what is the minimum amount of ram I should have on my desktop computer once I buy it? I know probably by common sense that the higher the RAM the better, but I'm on a low budget, so money is sort of an issue. But I also don't want to cheap out too much. What are your suggestions?
