I agree with you here. Between a desktop and laptop for gaming, you will spend more time on a desktop. Also, laptops overheat, the keyboard is usually not that great and screen size is smaller.

First off why would you get 2 of those monitors if you're only gaming on 1? If symmetry is very important to you or you're planning on adding a third one in the future I understand, if not, here's your solution: Buy only 1 of those BenQ monitors and buy something like this for your secondary monitor. That'll save you 150$, now add that 150$ onto your 500$ video card budget and you have just enough money to buy a gtx 780! Which will get you a LOT better performance than that 760 you're looking at.

EDIT: sorry I just saw you were looking at SLI 760s, not just 1. I would still recommend the single 780 though, you won't have to worry about any SLI issues, you'll have kind of similar performance and a lot more head room for upgrading in the future. A higher end single card will almost always be better than SLI lower end cards.
