  1. The printer? Just search online, the Cr10 S5 is very popular and there are several big Creality facebook groups, theres also a very helpful Luban group too If you wanted someone to print it for you? I don't know, i've never done it before sorry and it also depends on your location
  2. Im very close to pulling the trigger on an Alienware AW2518HF and I was wondering if there where any new 240hz monitors coming out soon which I should consider? (doesn't have to to be gsync or freesync)
  3. Ouchie, that is really bad as 3d printing is pretty much dirt cheap except the cost of the printer but you can get a Creality CR-10 S5 for a reasonable amount these days. You can use a program called Luban to chop up 3d models and then put pegs in (automatically), obviously you'll need to glue it but if you put time and effort into it. You could achieve something nice.
  4. design something in fusion 360 and get it 3d printed?
  5. ahhh I see, well that makes allot of sense, thanks for explaining it to me!
  6. I've watched/read a whole myriad of 1080 Ti vs Titan Xp benchmarks and the general consensus is that the Titan is slightly faster (just outside of margin of error). However i've seen some benchmarks with the same game/resolution which put the 1080 Ti ahead... The question is, which card is faster and are there any settings/models...etc which without overclocking outside of shipped spec upset the balance? (For example is there a particularly fast 1080 Ti and a particularly slow Titan Xp which could have upset the balance?) Also is there any Titan Xp cards which are based on custom PCB, I seem to remember Nvidia doesnt let 3rd parties play with the Titan designs?
  7. The question needs to be made relative to the OPs definition of outdated, since you cannot apply something as black and white as a dictionary definition because it doesn't take into consideration the context/scenario. If the question is; can this still play the latest titles with all applicable features enabled, the answer is that the 1080 Ti is now outdated and cannot do this because it cannot use DLSS/RT. If the question is; is this cards raw processing power still relevant in today's market, the answer is that the 1080 Ti is not outdated and can handle most tasks you could possibly expect of a high end consumer card. For me the OP hasn't made the definition clear enough for us to argue over it, IMHO.
  8. I've bought myself an old Mac Pro (pre 2012) for the case as I really love some of the things you can do with it as a blank canvas. Has anyone got any advice or tips/tricks for getting the most out of it? I found this place which has useful things like I/O&power button/ATX...etc conversion plates: https://www.thelaserhive.com/ Pics for inspiration would be awesome too
  9. Value wise, 8700K wins out for 1080p but i'd buy a used one if possible as already mentioned we are not far from a 10nm release for intel and 7nm for amd, we don't know how much of a difference it'll actually make yet though obviously. If you bought the 9600K used then i'd say sell it and get a 8700K, if you bought the 9600K new then it's not so clean cut.
  10. Oh okay, your earlier comment made me feel like that Master suffered if it wasnt running 4 dimms but if it's still better than the rest then im okay with that It's already been firmly established in the other thread that at 1080p gaming faster/more bandwidth...etc ram helps sorry and politely it's also not what I was asking
  11. Hmm... I don't really want to spend another £170 to populate the other dimms tbh, is there any other board I could consider that isn't any more expensive than the master? Also what CL17 timings like 17-22-22-40 or?
  12. I game at 1080p and im trying to push my system more to being 240 fps stable in Apex and OW with less lows so I can buy a 240hz monitor. I have this kit https://www.viper.patriotmemory.com/viper-steel-dram it arrived today and im really looking forward to installing it when I get home tonight but I have been told not to use XMP here: So what settings should I use to get the best FPS boost out of it? I have a relatively weak Z370P D3 motherboard right now (I am looking at replacing it next month with one of the Z390 Aorus Master boards) and a 8700K which clocks to 5ghz with daily use stability.
  13. Did you watch the video jstudrawa posted, clearly shows an fps difference at 1080. Also I disagree that it has nothing to do with it, the memory controller is in the cpu and it has to handle extra data so it is more likely to heat up.
  14. What ram would you recommend? (Link or kit name plx)
  15. Thats disappointing I bought this RAM as a part I wanted to carry over to the next generation if zen 2 is as good as its being hyped
  16. This is a really good video and as I game at 1080, that is the sweet spot at 4133Mhz. I mostly want it to help with the FPS low drops.
  17. Thank you jstudrawa and Jurrunio for answering my question
  18. But im not really asking this, i'm asking if having fast ram has a measurable impact on stable cpu overlock?
  19. https://www.guru3d.com/articles_pages/patriot_viper_steel_4000_mhz_cl19_ddr4_review,14.html Im sure I could find more
  20. Im not sure that is what I asked? Also i've read a few articles which directly contradict what you're saying, i'll see if I can find one...
  21. Ive just been told that faster ram limits overclocking, is this true? Would I still be able to hit 5ghz with 4133mhz ram on a 8700K?
  22. Im afraid I don't have another one for this socket, I have been thinking about getting an 9900K... *strokes chin*
  23. Ahhh okay, if the CMOS trick doesnt work, is there anything else I can try?
  24. I thought the memory channel would be the second furthest from cpu and then furthest as per the manual? I have tried a single dimm in each slot, its how I came the conclusion which ones weren't working.
