  1. Power surge fried the ethernet port on my Asus 370-e mobo. I know it the motherboard port because plugging the same ethernet cord into a different computer will allow that computer to connect. My ethernet switch port light won't even light up. I bought a TP-Link TG-3468 off Amazon and I can't get it to show up in Device Manager, even after downloading and installing the drivers. I've tried restarts, reinstalls, and all I know to do and I can't get it to work. The light on the card indicating the Mbps lights up if that helps.
  2. UPDATE: I disconnected my GPU and used my onboard graphics to test if I needed to free up PCIe lanes. Sadly the M.2 is still running Gen. 3 x 2 and I did not make any progress into discovering the issue.
  3. https://www.amazon.com/EZDIY-FAB-Express-Adapter-Support-22110/dp/B01GCXCR7W/ref=cm_wl_huc_item I'll try this out. It's only $14 USD. The z390-e WOULD solved this dilemma ? but I'd rather save up for a custom waterloop (the 2080 DOES get really hot after all). If the adapter doesn't work, then I guess it might be time to upgrade after only 6 months lol.
  4. What a terrible design putting all the eggs in one basket lol but thank you for clarifying. I saw that when I looked through the manual but it didn't explicitly state x2 lanes so I thought I might get lucky. Oof is right. At least I can probably get an M.2 adapter and connect it to the x16 PCIe slot not being used by another graphics card... right?
  5. Hi everyone, I ran into an issue where my Samsung 970 Evo 1TB M.2 NVME is only using x2 PCIe lanes instead of the x4 it supports. As such I am only getting half the rated speed. Motherboard: Asus RoG Strix 370-e CPU: i7-8700k GPU: Nvidia 2080FE RAM: G.skill TridentZ 4x8GB Additional Storage: Samsung 860 2.5" Sata SSD 250GB (Boot Drive to be hopefully replaced), Samsung 860 M.2 Sata SSD 1TB, WD Green HDD 1TB I can't switch the M.2s around because only one port supports SATA. From my understanding and feel free to correct me, my chipset should support up to x24 PCIe lanes. My GPU uses x16, I have nothing else connected to the motherboard, and the other storage drives' interfaces are SATA which don't use PCIe lanes. I'm not sure if my NVME is defective or not. My only other option at this point to figure it out is to disconnect my GPU and connect my display to the motherboard to definitively free up lanes and see if that is the issue. Any other ideas as to what the problem is and how to fix it?
