  1. Hell everyone, after some searching on google and here I haven't found really the right answer to my question. I am considering upgrading my system. At the moment I have a... Asrock Fatal1ty k6 Z270 i7 6700k 32GB Gskill DDR4 2400 (I know) RTX 2070 Super I know if i go with any higher GPU my CPU will bottleneck it. So I was considering upgrading for this reason. Even though the RTX 2080 super is only round about 20% better and the RTX 2080 Ti is about 50% better (gpu.userbenchmark) But either one will be bottlenecked my CPU. Most games and such I can run pretty well like Ghost recon wildlands I can run at ultra with 1080p no problem. Call of duty MW and CW I can run at 90-100 fps no problem at medium-high (With RTX turned off) unless I stream then I have to turn everything down but I don't really stream that much anymore, maybe once or twice a month. So is it even worth it to upgrade MB, CPU, RAM, GPU at all? I will probably at least upgrade the Ram to a higher speed. Thanks in advance for your help.
  2. I am sorry for reviving this thread but I figured it's better than creating a new one. I also have this card. Playing Warzone I have everything on high, no ultra. Setting the fps in WZ to 144 it would get hot. Junction temp between 80-105°C fan curve very agro, above 75° 100%. No over clock at all. If I put the fps to 100 everything is fine. My case is a Cooler master MC500 with 4 140mm fans. 1 CM fan in the rear, 1 CM and 1 be quiet 140 high speed up front and 1 140mm BQ high speed up top. Is it just a bad cooler? Can it be swapped? I am seriously thinking of getting a 3070 later anyway.
  3. Hello, I just found something interesting on ebay. A Intel Xeon Phi 5110P 60-Core 1.053GHz Coprocessor. . . OK. What is it and does it have a use in a Gaming Machine? I am not going to buy it but I thought it looked cool and I have no idea what it is really for.
  4. I bought an R9 270x for 56€ and I was also thinking about a Ryzen build. I found a Ryzen 5 1400 + AB350 Gaming 3 MB for 140€ I would just need to get some DDR4 ram
  5. PSU I have a few here that are pretty good and with PCIe connectors. The only reason it has 4gb of ram now is because the CPU can't support more. I will add at least 8gb if not 16gb. He would probably like to play some games. nothing top tier but Minecraft and so would be cool. He likes RTS games and so. Right now I downloaded Doom (1993), Fallout 3, Diablo 2 and Starcraft. Some of the older games are still great ones. An SSD is definitely being put in. and Worst case I still have my old Q9300 C2Q system which He might get anyway. I really love collecting older tech and still having them run well. The Q9300 was my fist setup that I upgraded over the years. Started out with that, 4gb of ram and a GT250 from MSI then a 560ti then 760 and finally over y few more years to my system now which of course I have swapped everything lol so it is no longer considered an upgrade except for the case. (i5 4690k, Asrock Z87, 16gb ddr3 and a 980ti.)
  6. Hello everyone. I just built a PC (Got the parts for free) for my Son. It is an Athlon 64 x2 4800+ (I know ancient) it has 4gb DDR2 and an Asus 560ti. It actually runs good with a fresh Win 7 64 bit. There are a few PCs local for sale that are better but I was wondering if they are even worth it. I found a complete system with an i5 750, Asus P7P55 LX, 4gb ddr3 1333, 1TB hhd, ATI Radeon HD5770 and an LC Power LC6550. All for 100€. If I get it I will add the 560ti or a 760 (all stuff I already have) and add an SSD with 128gb. Is it worth the 100€? Also locally is an i5 4670 setup with 8gb ddr3 on a Gigabyte GA-H87-D3H but no HDD or GPU with a Bequiet Straight Power E9 400w, for 150€ What would you guys recommend for the price? I am unemployed ATM so that is why my Budget is so low but I want to make the Kid happy with his first own PC.
  7. The header it is plugged into is not a temp regulated one. It's just, on. And when the original fan is in, it doesn't spin at all. I didn't check output voltages yet. I decided to use another PSU until I knew it was ok and safe.
  8. Just to be safe I installed a 3 pin 140mm fan and will attach it to a MB Header. Better safe than sorry. Afaik they have a low noise mode but not Zero RPM.
  9. I am exactly that. I have nearly 20 years Experience 110v, 230v and 12/24v systems. But thank you for being concerned.
  10. Hello and good day. I have a Cougar CMX 550w. The PSU starts up but the fan does not spin. When I test the fan with a 12v bench supply it spins up fine. Is this normal? I thought it would at least spin up at start and then slow down and adjust for load. Thanks in advance for any help.
  11. Yes it is old. but who cares. If you take care of them they will last a long time. My old system with a Q9300 and GTX 760 are still running fine. But I have noticed unless I have the best most newest stuff I'm just being insulted here.
  12. It still runs fine and it was an old system from a friend and it was free. He just wants something for older games. Minecraft, WoT, and so play fine. It would be his first pc do it doesn't need to be top of the line. It just needs to work for school stuff.
  13. Hello I am building a budget build for my son. Athlon 64 x2 and a gtx 560ti. I found a thermaltake psu but I'm not sure. Toughpower Qfan 500w. PSH500V-D and the TR2 S 80+
  14. Everything was perfectly fine. I repeated the cpu and all was good. Weird
  15. Hello and thank you for taking the time to read this. I am using an i5 4690k in an asrock z87 extreme4 with a gtx 980ti. Last night after a normal day I shut down my PC like always. I shut off the power strip and today I want to start up my PC and no display. After some troubleshooting and swapping GPUs I found that the Top PCIe slot isn't working. I put a 2nd gpu (gtx 970) and nothing. I put the 970 in the 2nd pcie slot and all is good. (My 980ti is too long to fit). Is there anything I can do or do I need a new MB? Thanks.
  16. Yes but I am using a Z87 MB and I am using Sata M.2 and not PCIe
  17. I have a Z87 Asrock extreme4 with an i5 4690k. I will upgrade later to an i7 4790k and next year i will go with my Asrock Z270 and an i7 7700k but that board has m.2 ports for both psie and sata. But right now I only have the board so I will stick to my 4th gen
  18. Hello and good day. I accidentally bought a Sata M.2 thinking it was a 2.5" SSD. It is a Samsung 860 EVO 500GB (Got it new for 54€) Should I go for a PCIE Adapter card or rather a 2.5" adapter? I sadly do not have any M.2 slots on my board. Thanks in advance for reading this.
  19. Hello and good day to all. I have searched a bit around and the only fixes I found are from 2014-2015. I just installed an Asrock z87 Extreme4. It will not boot at all (Dr Debug code 00) with the i7. It will boot with no problem using my i5 4690k. I updated the Bios with instant flash and tried to use the windows app because of the devils canyon update (I read about it on the threads from 2014) I find it odd because that update also included the i5 4690k and that works fine. I ran the app in compatibility mode for win 7 since it would not work with win 10. I am getting tired of swapping my i5 and i7 all day trying different things. Other than the fact it could just be a bad CPU what else can there be? Thanks in advance,
  20. Ps2 adapter worked but only with an older cheap keyboard
  21. Like ny post says. I tried all usb ports and 5 different keyboards. I just picked up a ps2 adapter to try that.
