IPS suck in darker rooms? That is just not true for any monitor type. The tvs will have higher input lag and since they aren't really reviewed we do not know how bad the input lag is for the tvs. If this is to be used as a desk monitor I do not see those big tvs being comfortable to stare at for long and you'd also loose a lot of usable desktop space as you only have a limited viewing range when those big screens are close to you of the whole monitor. I would just go for the lg which isn't the best but should do you better. For 27 inch 1440p is plenty and would allow you to get a higher refresh rate monitor at the price too.
