Yea, the GPU market is an issue and I was gonna wait for that to calm down first. Can you be a bit more specific about what CPU cooler I should buy?

Budget (including currency): 500€, willing to go up to 700€ (not ideal) Country: Germany Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Games: For Honor, emulated Wii games (via Dolphin), Dark Souls 1 (PTDE) - 3, Skyrim, Manifold Garden, Maelstrom, CoD: BO2/3, Warhammer: Vermintide 2. Workloads: Virtual machines for sandboxing old Windows operating systems (on VMWare Workstation) Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): Current rig: AMD Ryzen 5 2600 w/stock fan, GIGABYTE B450m DS3h, Gainward GTX 1050ti, 16GB Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro (16GB Dual Channel, CAS Latency 16), WD Green M.2 SATA SSD (256GB), 500W Thermaltake PSU (80+ certified), Seagate FireCuda Hybrid SSD (2TB), Cooler Master MasterBox 5 RGB case (one front IO USB port broken). Extras which would be nice having, but are not a necessity for me: A quiet air cooling solution which would not need a lot of maintenance and an additional hard drive for mass storage. Looking towards an upgrade, possibly within that budget constraint. Please give me a recommendation within my budget and an "optimal" upgrade without concerning my budget. Please let me know if there is anything I can improve upon when making a similar post next time.

Budget (including currency): 350€ Country: Germany Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: 1080p gaming, mostly For Honor and Dark Souls 3, looking for the highest FPS possible on this budget. Preferably a future proof GPU Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): I would like to upgrade my GPU, upgrading from a GTX 1050 Ti. My use cases are listed above. My current PC has the following specifications: CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 2600 RAM: Corsair Vengeance Pro 2x8GB Current GPU: Gainward GTX 1050 Ti PSU: Thermaltake 500W OS Drive: WD M.2 SSD 128GB (SATA) Additional Drives: 2TB Seagate Firecuda, 1TB Samsung 870 EVO Any advice would be appreciated.

I need the best prebuilt system for under $50!
Max B. replied to AirSocial's topic in Laptops and Pre-Built Systems
Sup. One thing straight away: $50 are not enough by ANY means. The device yiu send the footage to has to be a system that actually has the system resources required to en-/decode 60fps. Quality not even calculated in. And also PCs under $100 (most of them) don't have Gigabit Networking. So unless you want your viewers to wait 5 mins (slightly overexaturated) just to render the next frame you better get a RAM (or CPU if you are willing to pay for it) upgrade. Get 2 more of the same that you already have in your build and you'll be fine for now. -
Go for it. The cable management looks like an old IBM straight outta the 90's. And the comment regarding the photo was irrelevant btw.

T450. The T450s is Way too overprized Not enough to be worth the prize upgrade; if a GPU would have been included, that was good enough, then maybe. Linux Mint doesn't require that much resources. Even a 32-Bit-CPU runs the 64-Bit version. Weird but true. I tested it. The T450 is just a better option. End of story.

I eouldn't say typo. You just can't "typo" the "RTX" Logo. It was created once and is just re-used now. BTW I found this on digitaltrends.com. It seems like there's something going on in that topic, but not for Laptops. Sorry, bud. Link to article: https://www.digitaltrends.com/computing/leak-reveals-more-on-geforece-rtx-2050-gtx-1150/amp/

Old system from 2006 "refusing" to post (shared system)
Max B. replied to Max B.'s topic in Laptops and Pre-Built Systems
Dunno. I didn't check that yet. Good tip though. Also Eastman51 the PC that you listed on PPP is WAY over my budget. I just need a PC that WORKS but also not pre-built. IF I buy a new one. Right now I am more looking for a way to repair that old one IF there is one. I hope there is. -
Old system from 2006 "refusing" to post (shared system)
Max B. replied to Max B.'s topic in Laptops and Pre-Built Systems
Nope, not even the BIOS starts up. And I've tried several Hard Drives (also SSDs) with different Windows versions installed (also a W2G drive) and well..... nothing But good idea. I'll think about replacing it but I will still try to get it working. I still have hopes for that machine. Thanks though. -
Okay, here's the thing: I have an old Acer Aspire T180 at home from 2006, came with a Windows Vista OEM, has an AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core, a MB with 4 DDR2 Memory slots, 2 occupied by a 1GB DIMM each, OS upgraded to Windows 7 Ultimate last year. The PC was working perfectly, until, somewhere last July, I rebooted it after installing a security patch, and then, after the reboot, where it was supposed to post, the CPU fans just stopped spinning and I had NO picture whatsoever on my screen. I tried pretty much EVERYTHING at this point (CMOS Battery reset, rebuilding the PC from scratch, switching up the CPU fan plug socket etc.), AKA I pretty much warranty voided every single part (not that it matters, no one produces these parts anymore). And since I am not the only one that uses this PC ( I only deal with hardware maintenance, software, drivers etc) and the other person uses it for office work, I am in a pretty bad hurry right now. Please help me! Thanks in advance!
