  1. Regarding the whole Billet thing...it seems like the logistics and inventory team at LTT is....kinda terrible at their jobs? 1. Billet sends waterblock and 3090Ti, 3090Ti goes missing. 2. LTT is forced to shoot a video with a completely different GPU. 3. Billet asks for waterblock back, someone at LTT says they'll send it back, doesnt send it back. 4. Waterblock presumably gets misplaced, and someone mistakenly puts it up for auction. 5. Someone loses auction winner tracking sheet, forcing LTT to reach out auction winners by email. Just seems like a lot of this could have been avoided if 3rd party product inventory were taken more seriously and properly itemized and tracked.
  2. So I made a mistake last week. I had to disassemble my PC because I did a BIOS reset, and Im using a gen 3 riser cable with a gen 4 motherboard and GPU (RTX 3070), in a SFF case. Once the bios reset, it went back to gen 4 pcie settings...and my GPU doesnt fit inside the case. So I had to disassemble everything, and post it outside the case with the gpu plugged directly into the motherboard to change the setting back. Anyway when I was reassembling everything, I couldn't boot. I kept getting the motherboard post error regarding graphics issue. I tried for about 10 minutes, unplugging the pins and plugging them back in. It wasnt until after the 10th try that I realized....the 8 pin slot only had a 6 pin connector in it. I needed to plug in a 6+2 connector. How bad is this? lol. Once I realized, I plugged in the proper 6+2 and prayed. Booted without a problem. And I've been playing Diablo IV everyday since. No game crashes, boot issues, Windows crashes, graphical glitches, etc. But yea, just wondering how bad or dangerous this is for a GPU? Thanks.
  3. Hey man, just wanted to say thanks for the ho and info! Based on your post, I decided to look for bigger heatsinks. Also looked up some graphs regarding TDP's and appropriate heatsink volumes. Attached pictures of the fix I did using some double sided thermal tape. I think I did a pretty good job. Unfortunately I don't have an extra drive to test. Instead I've been running HWINFO during gaming and Cinebench (though I understand these tests won't actually stress the chip itself), but the temps for the chipset seem perfectly fine, sitting around 41 - 45 degrees (I believe the chipset shows up as PCH in HWINFO, please correct me if I'm wrong though). Anyway just wanted to say thanks a lot for the help everyone.
  4. Hey man, thanks so much for the info!!! I live in Canada, so I don't quite have as much as options. Would something like this work? https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B07Q8RW5Y2/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_i_5K0TCA1B86EDVWVEGCZC I was also wondering if I could just get any aluminum heatsink and some adhesive thermal tape from Amazon, and stick it on there. I measured and the chipset seems to be about 21 mm. Edit: I ended up going with this, https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B010ER7UN8/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_i_P7HVRC62V73JN6ARV95R?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1 Along with some double sided thermal tape. Hopefully this does the job. Thanks for the help everyone.
  5. Motherboard is an MSI B450i Gaming Plus Max WiFi. It's only about 4 months old. I bought it off Amazon so the return/exchange window has passed. I'm not sure how this happened. As far as I can tell from the manual the heatsink should come attached already out of the box, and shouldn't require any installation. So I'm unsure of why it has suddenly fell off. Looks like it's supposed to be screwed in through the back of the board. I'm guessing I'll have to buy special screws to put it back in. Anyone know what type of screws I need? Manual doesn't even mention the heatsink. Thanks for any and all help.
  6. Hey guys, just as the title says. My ISP speeds are 150 Mbps down and 15 Mbps up (cable). I currently have 4 devices connected by ethernet cable to my modem, and 2 android devices connected over Wi-Fi. I've listed them below: My PC Girlfriends PC Work PC Chromecast Google Pixel 4 XL Samsung S9+ I've tested every single device, and they all get the correct speeds, EXCEPT my PC. I've tried everything. I've uninstalled and reinstalled drivers, I've change the NIC settings, I've switched out all the wired ethernet cables, I've launched my PC in safe mode with networking, I've reset my modem to factory default settings, I've tried every single port on my modem and retested each time with different devices, I've even done a completely fresh install of windows. No matter what, my PC barely gets over 50 Mbps, whlle literally every other device gets the rated 150 Mbps. It's pretty clear to me at this point that there's a hardware issue with my PC. I built this PC myself around Feb 2018, and have been slowly upgrading it over the years. The one part I haven't upgraded yet is the motherboard. Could my motherboard be broken, and be giving me slow speeds? For the record, I have no MSI motherboard software installed. I hate that bloatware. Here are my specs MSI b350 Gaming Pro Ryzen 3600X Gigabyte RTX 3070 16 GB DDR4 ram 1 TB WD nvme ssd So is it my motherboard? Or could it possibly be my cpu or some other piece of hardware? I'm certain it's NOT my modem, as I've tried every port with other PC's, devices, and cables, and they're all getting 100% speeds consistently. Thanks for any help!
  7. I disagree with you tbh. For me, the 3070 will be a good improvement over my current 1660 while also offering ray tracing and DLSS support. That alone is worth the price for me. But even if it's only marginally better than my 1660 and not worth the price, or maybe AMD comes out with a much better and more powerful card for the same price, then I'll just return the 3070. No money lost. Normally I'd wait until all info is in, but considering how low the stock has been and how hard these cards are to get, I think I'll try and secure one first and then just return it if needed. But I really doubt that it won't be a worthy improvement for me.
  8. Hey guys, was just wondering if it would be a good idea to go line up outside of a Best Buy or Canada Computers on launch day for the RTX 3070. I doubt I'll be able to get one online on launch day. But how likely is it that retail stores will have them in stock on launch day? Does Best Buy Canada even carry GPU's on shelves, or do they only sell them online? Is it even worth it or should I try my luck online.
  9. Dude...you don't wait 6 years after paying for something to start going "Hmmm, maybe I should do something about this". You don't even wait 6 months. I understand that it's a custom job and setbacks happen, but...6 years?!?! People get houses built in less than a year. A house. You've been scammed. They took your money and laughed at you. Be more responsible with you money man, and don't let people take you for a ride...
  10. Ahh gotcha, thank you! And yes I actually just upgraded the bios to its most recent firmware a couple days ago. What's PB? Thanks for this! I'll take a look and see where mine falls, or a possible mobo to upgrade to.
  11. That makes sense, I actually didnt realize they were being released so soon. Might as well wait. How can I find out if my current board has decent VRMs? I'll probably just upgrade my motherboard anyway. Thanks, yea I've actually slowly been upgrading it over the years. Started with just the 2400g, 8 gb of ram and the 1 tb hard drive. First I increased the ram, then I bought the GTX 1660, an SSD, and then most recently I added the nvme. So now I'm trying to figure out which way to go. I think I'll probably upgrade the CPU and get a new mother board while Im at it. And then maybe by 2021 I can grab a brand new GPU. Thanks for the help everyone.
  12. Sorry about that, was posting on my phone and accidentally hit the post button.... Should be fixed now!
  13. Budget (including currency): $300 Country: Canada Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: eSports gaming mostly (and probably Cyberpunk 2077) Other details Current build: CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 2400G 3.6 GHz Quad-Core Processor Motherboard: MSI B350M GAMING PRO Micro ATX AM4 Motherboard Memory: Corsair Vengeance LPX 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3200 CL16 Memory Storage: Samsung 860 Evo 250 GB 2.5" Solid State Drive Storage: Western Digital Black NVMe 500 GB M.2-2280 NVME Solid State Drive Storage: Western Digital Caviar Blue 1 TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive Video Card: MSI GeForce GTX 1660 6 GB VENTUS XS OC Video Card Case: Cooler Master MasterBox NR400 (w/o ODD) MicroATX Mid Tower Case Power Supply: EVGA 500 W 80+ Bronze Certified ATX Power Supply So that's my current build. I'm thinking maybe j should upgrade the motherboard and cpu to something more modern like Ryzen 3000 series. Thoughts?
  14. Ahh, I was unaware of this. Thanks for the response and the insight. Guess my CPU is acting fine then.
  15. Thanks for replying. I am using the stock cooler, but I may upgrade to a better cooler. I suppose you're right, there really isn't a huge difference between 3.55 and 3.60. I just find it confusing that it'll hold 3.60 for a couple minutes but then quickly drop to 3.55. I don't think it's thermal throttling issue either. Could it be a power throttling issue? I'm not familiar enough with wattage and power draw requirements.
