  1. Aaahhh well it looks very cleverly organised to me. Why are the UPS's necessary? Do you have problems with grid outages where you are?
  2. @Gorgon Damn, that's impressive! Is that in a cupboard or garage? Presumably you can run high fan speeds as noise isn't an issue?
  3. There's a lot to be said for well designed apartment complexes (although not suitable for absolutely everybody). Warmer, more energy efficient, better for transportation/city/town planning, less destruction of habitat, less encroachment into productive farmland, better for transport, better for the environment, low maintenance, often great shared facilities.. etc etc Continental Europe does it the best, and has been for the last century. I wish my country would learn...
  4. It turns out you may have been correct. It seems that with WU's that have a higher utilisation (over 95% of GPU), that it drops down to 1500 Mhz quite frequently and for long periods, regards of what software is open. I dropped it down from 1965 Mhz (stock boost) to 1890 Mhz, and now it seems to sit there nicely. Seriously contemplating RMA on the card now for the coil whine issues I've been having. Would wait until after folding month though ?
  5. Oh man that sucks ? Was folding an important consideration with the build? Is it possible to return the card?
  6. I'm seriously considering just using the web app for spotify..
  7. So an update. It only seems to do it when I open spotify (which I discovered tonight). I've been opening every combination of other programs I can think of, but it seems to be just spotify. Very confusing... But at least now I guess I don't have to restart, but just close my music.
  8. I'm presently having an issue where my 1660 Ti just randomly stops boosting (1950 MHz down to 1500) every 12 - 24 hours. A restart corrects the problem , which is great, but means I have to watch out for it, which is annoying. Has anyone else experienced this?
  9. It's.... It's beautiful.. ? (also... love the RGB on those EVGA cards)
  10. I don't think Navi cards work with F@h yet. Something about OpenCL if I'm not mistaken, driver issue.
  11. @Syaoran, Agree with Spotty. That's too hot for sustained running, so best to just run the GPU. And you can bump up the GPU and case fan speed to lower your GPU temps. If you hadn't figured it out already, here's how you delete the cpu slot:
  12. As GOTsprectrum said, look at your Extreme OC'ing stat page to see more accurate results (whatever you are getting over and above what you were before), but it'll take a day or two to give you a proper idea: https://folding.extremeoverclocking.com/user_summary.php?s=&u=830593 Unfortunately until they update all the F@H work servers, the client will show the points without the quick return bonus (dramatically lower than the actual total points earned). A 2070 super should pull over 1.2 mil ppd most of the time (there will be variation between different WU's).
  13. If you are also referring to the actual F@h web control page, I find it's quite temperamental, and best not to use it. The advanced panel is much better. Right click the folding icon in the system tray, then select 'advanced control' from the menu. Edit: Oh snap! just saw all the other posts saying the same thing!! My bad!
  14. I also just noticed that my folding badge link (when clicked), links to somebody else's EOC'ing stats. Is this something we can change ourselves? Or does it require an admin?
  15. This may be a silly question... But is it normal for a GPU to be a little short of 100% utilisation when folding? It's always run like this since I bought it, and it has multiple cores and around 45% of the CPU available in reserve to serve it.
  16. Yeah I've always thought for some people with hot running laptops, or people who are super concious of their power bill, an 'off timer' type thing would be great. I.e. you could just tell it to fold for 2-4 hours then stop (so you don't need to remember to stop it yourself).
  17. You can also just right click the f@h icon in the system tray, then select the advanced client thingee (somewhere near the top of the pop up box).
  18. @Elektra57 Just remember to get that passkey from the F@H site, and enter it into the 'configure' menu in the F@H client (if you haven't done so already). Once you get to your 11th work unit you should see your PPD bump up a bit. ...and check your stats here : https://folding.extremeoverclocking.com/user_summary.php?s=&u=831236
  19. Nice! That card should be producing at least double what the 480 would have anyhow (similar to a 1660 Ti). Which style cooler does it have?

    Nice Alinity profile pic. @PCGuy_5960

Ahhhh he's got a fluffy fleece... He'll land just fine ?
  21. Dammit... Why don't these forums have a sad reacc for ol' Straya? ???
  22. You just need to copy and paste it into the client (in the 'configure' menu).
