  1. Just had the same exact error happen with myRTX 2080. What cleared mine up was uninstalling the drivers, then shutting down and unplugging your system. Then I removed my GPU then reinstalled. Started my system, then I did a clean install of the drivers. Rebooted and it was fine.
  2. This is the thread called off topic, where we can talk about non-tech stuff. Says it right in the title. But I have been apart of two threads which were locked and told it was better in a status update which is confusing because how do you talk to someone back and forth in a status update? So please tell what we can talk about here? It seems very arbitrary, ambiguous and very subjective. So as I write this is asking advice as to where they should move. Is that ok or will it get locked? If it was anywhere other than this thread I could understand it. But, in a thread called Off Topic. None of the posts are counted and added to our post count. So as long it is polite, and civil discussions I do not understand why we cannot talk about pretty much anything here as long it is polite and legal. ( redundant I know) .
  3. Take my word for it a lot safer getting them that way. ?
  4. OK cool, I hook up a Molex to the PSU..Again thank, I let you know if I blow up my case.
  5. Yes usb3.1 and usb 2 but I have them already accounted for.
  6. I'd agree with you that would give the best FPS for the dollar.
  7. Putting my new rig together and I found this mystery going to the front panel, nothing in the manual about it. It looks like a 2 pin Molex. I have no clue what it goes to. Anyone got any ideas?
  8. If you look on Amazon, they have a lot of what I would call everyday/family computers in their refub page, ranging from 160 USD and up. Maybe what you are looking for and save you some time and maybe money. https://www.amazon.com/s?k=refurbished+desktop+computers+with+windows+10&crid=2ICONZG6OWD48&sprefix=reburbished+%2Caps%2C479&ref=nb_sb_ss_sc_7_12
  9. That is really cool. I have some from the DRC, Sudan, and Ivory Coast plus a lot more from Aisa and S. America. Even have a couple 1/2 pennies. DId you get those in Zimbabwe?
  10. AH, then that explains it. I travel a lot so it was confessing me. I have a large collection of money from different countries, not worth a lot but neat to look at.
  11. I have a Corsair 780t and like it a lot. Good AF and easy to work on and cable manage.
  12. I am getting a different value for the conversion from ZWD to USD ANd if correct they are worth a good deal. https://www.xe.com/currencyconverter/convert/?Amount=2%2C000%2C000%2C000%2C000%2C000&From=ZWD&To=USD Maybe I am missing something here.
  13. Was wonder what fand and RGB controller folks use? Also, any recommendation on good RGB fans for use with rads and a large case. Thanks.
  14. Never played those, but I like the original take on this trope. Sadly do not have a console, hard to get the wife to approve with as much as I have in my gaming rig. lol
  15. Don't know if this has been brought up, but Darkborn an indie game looks very good.
  16. Question, do I put the OEM PCB screws back in the card especially the four around the GPU chip? All that Alpha Cool has me put in only 4, the ones they sent. After put it all together it does not look like the GPU is touching the cooling block if I look at it from the side. Thanks.
  17. Agree. Can re-use some of the tape from OEM but a big part of it just crumbles when you try and peel it off. Lol I cannot do a project and not have a SNAF, sigh. Thanks.
  18. WIll do. Got a request into Alpha Cool for clarification. I will take you advice and wait for info from Alpha Cool. Thank you.
  19. Guess that would help. The GPU with Red marked on it is a 2080 ti, red marks where Alphacool said to apply thermal tape. The other is what the thermal tape coverage OEM is. Hope this helps.
  20. I am trying to find Alphacool support, and am not having any luck, even with a wife who is fluent in German.
  21. I am a latecomer to the water cooling party when it comes to water cooling GPUs. And last night was my first time putting a water block on a GPU and Iran into an issue that I am not sure about, so I stopped and came to ask you fine folks for some help/advice. I am wanting to put an Alphacool water block on my RTX 2080 ti FE. When I got to the part where I was putting on the thermal tape I ran into an issue. first, the parts that Alphacool told me to put thermal tape on are not the same as what was on the card OEM ( the OEM covered more places), they called for less. And second, even at that, there was not enough thermal tape given with the water block to do the job, if I tried to cover what was OEM and (even if I did not), the pictures of where to put the tape were right up into the part were it was an RTX 2080 just not a ti FE. The block itself fits and is the right one, just not the amount and placement of the thermal tape. So, my question do I trust where Alphacool said to place the tape and not worry and if not it is easy to see where the OEM had tape so putting more on is not an issue, but what thickness of tape do I use, because the OEM used 3 different types looking at the front and back of the PCB. Sending it all back is a huge issue for me seeing how I have a 1k GPU in pieces on my workbench and second and the biggest is I live in the great white north and getting it sent back and getting another would/is going to take a couple of weeks if not more. Thanks for reading this, and any help would be greatly appreciated.
  22. Well, I took them out of SLI mode and uninstalled the drivers, then I shut down the system, turned off and unplugged it. Let it sit for a minute or so, fire it back up and then installed the drivers, clean installed them. ANd it worked like a charm.
  23. Ordered some custom cables from CableMod, first time I have. I got them to pimp out my new rig. Well got an email saying they were shipped. I looked at the tracking number and to my surprise, it was DHL, hence overseas in my neck of the woods. I ran the tracking number and they are coming from Taiwan. For some reason, I thought they were based in the US. Guess I will wait a little while longer to finish my new rig.

  24. That 8+4 pin at the top of your MB is the power to the CPU, that is if I am understanding you correctly. SO you do need it.
