  1. Hi Guys! My setup is: MSI z690 Pro DDr5 i5 13600k 32GB DDr5 Patriot 6000MHz Ram When I go afk and come back sometimes my desktop is still active but my mouse and keyboard don't do anything. Their lights are still on but don't change anything on the desktop. I have to unplug and replug them to make them do anything again. The desktop stays awake the whole time. I believe it might have something to do with USB-controller going to sleep but I'm using the ultra power plan. Any ideas? Mobo dead? cheers
  2. My RAM comes with three XMP profiles. Right now I'm running the highest profile with 6000MHz and CL36, as it's rated. The other ones are slower. I could try the other profiles, basically underclock the modules. But if the modules aren't capable of their rated speeds, I would rather return them. I also doubt that's the case although I have no experience with Patriot. I think they are usi g DRAM from SK Hynix. 1) Alright will do! 2) I will try that on the weekend, sounds like a good idea.
  3. Hi Noah! Thank you for the help. I'm using brand new Patriot DDR5 modules. Do you think changing the XMP profile might make a difference? I will try to reseat them aswell tomorrow. What I don't understand is: Memtest gives 1000+ errors right away but everything else runs perfectly? Is that error correction or just luck?
  4. 1) I will! Can you tell me where to find them? Is it memorydmp.dmp? 2) I ran the test, here's the log file: I don't have any antivirus active except for Windows defender. I also tested sfc/scannow already, forgot to mention it sorry.
  5. I could easily mount the fan of the Noctua NH-D15 a little higher to make enough room for the Ram! Happy end!
  6. Hi! I get this BSOD often when playing Far Cry 6 or COD MW2. They run for 1-2 hours and than crash or BSOD. What I did so far: Updated my GPU drivers Updated windows Installed missing device drivers Ran Windows memory diagnostic (no errors) Ran Windows ressource protection (no errors) Checked both games for errors Sometimes just the audio of the game is gone (but audio from chrome for example still works), sometimes the game freezes but windows still works (although I couldn't get the game to unfocus). Sometimes it completely BSODs. I just upgraded my system to a i5 13600k with Patriot DDR5 6000MHz CL36 Ram. I did a clean Windows 10 Pro installation on the main NVME SSD. I have more hard drives connected that are not freshly formatted. Please let me know if you need more info in order be able to help me. I would be very thankful for any assistance!
  7. Interesting, thanks! I think I will get the NH-D15 regardless and see if I can nudge the fan up. If not, I'll replace it with a 120mm. Should work right?
  8. Hi! I bought a set of Patriot Viper Venom DDR5-6000 CL36 kit and I am worried about Ram clearance. According to the specsheet it's 43mm high. That means the NH-D15 is out of the question already with it's mere 32mm clearance and the Dark Rock Pro 4 is just not tall enough with 40mm clearance. Is it safe to remove the heatspreader from the Ram modules? Is it just for show or do these modules actually produce enough heat to need cooling? Can you recommend any other cooler that might work for a 13600K?
  9. Would not get a single stick because most motherboards support dual channel mode, right? Also I have 4 slots available.
  10. My point is that I will probably actually leave about 10% of performance on the table if I keep my 2400 Ram. Buying into DDR5 is not a money saver but might make more sense than buying new DDR4 now. Not sure though. Do you have a source for that?
  11. Hi! I'm currently thinking about upgrading my CPU and surrounding components because I got a great deal on a RTX 3070 and now my system is a little one-sided. Currently I'm running: Intel i7 7700 non-K RTX 3070 16 GB Crucial Ballistix Sport 2400 CL16 500W BeQuiet Straight Power Planned upgrades: Intel i5 13600K MSI Pro z690 or z790 Wifi (depending on price and availability) BeQuiet Straight Power 11 1000W I was already planning to upgrade the PSU even though the system runs fine atm. Now, the only component left is Ram. Do I keep my old one or buy new? 2400 is really slow and might actually make a difference and upgrading down the line to DDR5 is not possible. I'm thinking about going DDR5 because I only need 16GB now and saved on RAM previously. Should I get used DDR4 3600? What do you think?
  12. If you spend 500+ on a VR headset you really should be able to safe a few months more and get a better GPU. Linus just made a video about that btw
  13. Hi guys! So I got a 4k TV for couch gaming and movies in february and I hooked it to my PC via HDMI. My main display is Samsung WQHD connected via DVI. My GPU is a GTX 1060. I've set the displays up to mirror my main display, so 2x WQHD, 60Hz. This works fine overall but I noticed that video playback gets choppy as soon as I enable fullscreen. I seems like audio and video get desynced. This happens on my main display when the TV is off, using my soundcard AND using TV for picture and sound, main display and soundcard turned off. Drivers should be up to date. How do I fix that? Second question if anyone knows Samsung TV's: The TV automatically configures for the PC everytime I restart the PC. This takes about a minute, but it does it every time. Can I save the device somehow in the TV so it remembers what was connected previously? Thanks in advance! Stay safe! -acoustics
