Thanks all for replying I will run some tests to see what the GPU and CPU usage is like on max and low settings. I'll also keep an eye on 6700XT prices - what brands/models have the best reputations? I think I will upgrade sometime in the next couple of months.

Thanks for your reply. It never crashes or force restarts when playing games on low settings and previous advice I've received from the forum has suggested that my GPU isn't really sufficient for gaming at medium/high settings at 1440p. But if there are specific tests I should try I can give it a go!

Hi , I'm looking to upgrade my GPU as my current one (1660 super) is just not powerful enough for 1440p gaming (even in sim games like Planet Zoo I have to play on low otherwise it crashes). I would like to play other games like Baldur's Gate 3 too. My budget would be around £300 if possible. What do you think the cheapest "good" option is for 1440p gaming? Would I need to upgrade my PSU too? These are my current specs: CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 3600 Mobo: MSI B450M MORTAR MAX mATX RAM: Corsair VENGEANCELPX16GB (2x 8GB) DDR4 3600 C18 GPU: MSI GeForce GTX 1660 SUPER Case: Fractal Design Meshify C Mini Storage: Samsung 970 EVO 1 TB PCIe NVMe M.2 PSU: Seasonic Focus GX 650W Power Supply, Fully Modular, 80+ Gold Display(s): Acer Nitro 27", 165Hz, 1440p x2 Thank you!

Thank you for your replies. I think you're right in the sense that since it only does it with a significant load it may be power/gpu related. I don't have easy access to a different power supply but I might save up for a better GPU... What GPU would you recommend for my current PSU? Also how come if I have games on higher graphics settings and I'm getting like 60fps it still crashes? Why won't it use the 6GB of VRAM and lower the fps? (if you get what I mean) Thank you!

Hi, I noticed around 1 year ago when I was playing more games that around 20 mins into playing Planet Zoo or Phasmophobia, my PC would randomly black screen and go through the restart cycle, and load as if nothing happened. I stopped playing games and mostly used the PC for work/school/browser and didn't experience the random restarts. Recently I've gotten back into games and the cycle happened twice with Valheim. Since lowering the graphics settings to almost the lowest, it doesn't suddenly restart. Does anyone have any idea what could be causing these random restarts? My graphics drivers are updated and my temps rarely go above 70. I'm using Windows 11 Pro 64-bit. Many thanks PC specs: CPU AMD Ryzen 5 3600 Motherboard MSI B450M MORTAR MAX Motherboard mATX RAM Corsair VENGEANCELPX16GB (2x 8GB) DDR4 3600 (Pc4-28800) C18 1.35V D GPU NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 SUPER (driver version 531.29) Case Fractal Design Meshify C Mini Storage Samsung 970 EVO 1 TB PCIe NVMe M.2 PSU Seasonic Focus GX 650W Power Supply, Fully Modular, 80+ Gold Display(s) Acer Nitro XZ272UPbmiiphx 27", 165Hz, 4ms, WQHD Curved, Freesync Cooling AMD Wraith Stealth, Noctua NF-P12 redux-1700 PWM, Noctua NF-P12 redux-1700 PWM

Unfortunately I'm in the UK in a pretty rural area where there are no computer stores... Also, I don't know anyone close to me with a desktop PC (COVID means I wouldn't be able to try on a friend's PC). I think I'll just order two new DP cables and hope that works. If not I'm not sure what to do - I wish 2070's were still being sold. Thanks for your suggestions!

Hi, I built my PC in November but only got the chance to play games after Christmas, and since then I have had sudden graphical glitches every so often, but over the past few weeks it has progressively become impossible to use as the black screens will appear for 3 seconds every 20 or so seconds, until there is eventually no output and the monitor states: "Input not supported". By the way, I don't think the monitors are faulty as I have tested both with HDMI connected to a Macbook Air and a PS4, respectively. I have tried some troubleshooting: restarting my PC updating Windows (everything is up-to-date) using the AmdCleanupTool and then installing current recommended, current optional, and previous drivers changing settings on Radeon software (i.e turning Virtual Resolution, AMD FreeSync Premium, and GPU Scaling on and off) Here are my specs: CPU AMD Ryzen 5 3600 Motherboard MSI B450M MORTAR MAX Motherboard mATX RAM Corsair VENGEANCELPX16GB (2x 8GB) DDR4 3600 (Pc4-28800) C18 1.35V D (I have set the XMP to 3600) GPU PowerColor Red Devil 8GB 5700XT Case Fractal Design Meshify C Mini Storage Samsung 970 EVO 1 TB PCIe NVMe M.2 PSU Seasonic Focus GX 650W Power Supply, Fully Modular, 80+ Gold Display(s) 2x Acer Nitro XZ272UPbmiiphx 27", 165Hz, 4ms, WQHD Curved, Freesync The only thing which makes my PC work with no problems is using one monitor connected by an HDMI cable. If the GPU had 2 HDMI inputs I would be able to test a dual monitor setup with various 5700xt drivers and settings, however the GPU has 1 HDMI and 3 DP inputs. I am using the DP cables provided by the monitors, by the way. Would there be any troubleshooting steps recommended at this point? Or should I just buy 2 new DP cables to see if it had something to do with the bandwidth of the DP cables? P.S I don't have MSI afterburner installed, so that couldn't be causing the problem. Thank you very much

Hi, My new PC that I built a few days ago has started having weird fan behaviours - the first 2 days it was not audibly changing like it is now. I downloaded MSI Afterburner and Riva Tuner to check out my temperatures and then it started doing the weird 5 second low power-high power fan cycle (and you can hear the fan noise go considerably higher, very noticeably). No matter what I'm doing on the PC it stays the same. I've tried putting the fans back to smart mode via the BIOS and uninstalling MSI Afterburner and Riva Tuner but it doesn't change anything. I'm convinced it's a software issue - what do you think it could be and how could I reset the fan curve? (I don't know much about fans, sorry) Thanks, see specs below B450M MSI TOMAHAWK MAX Ryzen 5 3600 with stock heatsink 2 of Noctua NF-P12 redux 1700PWM 1 case fan from Fractal Design Meshify Mini PowerColor Red Devil 8GB 5700XT 16GB Corsair Vengeance 3600mhz Seasonic Focus 650w 80+ Gold

Don't worry, you just copy your link for the system build and it automatically adds the list

What's the best Gen3 NVMe 1TB for around £100-£150? Thanks
