  1. I bet I will. The train I commute in is painfully loud, and I'm not using that word lightly. Where I work a similar level of noise mandates the use of hearing protection.
  2. I'm not buying new earbuds for the tip size, I need anc and my current earbuds don't have it. But thanks for the recommendation anyways.
  3. I have rather large ear canals, to the point that even the largest eartips can barely create a seal, and I'm struggling to find earbuds that won't fall out. My current daily drivers are the Soundcore Life A1, which are perfect thanks to the rubber wings and the low profile, and if it weren't for the lack of anc I wouldn't be thinking of replacing them. So here's what I'm looking for: - ANC - low profile, must not stick out much - must have rubber wings For some reason I'm struggling to find something that'll fit me. In the past few months I've returned countless models because I wouldn't trust that they wouldn't fall out all of a sudden. I'm basically at the point that I'm not even concerned about budget anymore. I need some anc earbuds to protect my hearing, but I can't find a model that fits my ear as well as the Life A1 do. I'm rather desperate at this point and considering going back to wired earphones. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
  4. Hi, my budget is around 500 USD, but I'm somewhat flexible as I don't mind saving up a bit if it means getting a better one. I'm one of those people that runs their smartphones into the ground. The only reason I'm thinking of replacing my 3a is that the USBC port is getting finicky and sometimes struggle to charge it. I'd say the 3a's camera is...ok. At best.
  5. I never really considered a smartphone's camera to be a major selling point. But I grew tired of carrying my mirrorless camera in my bag all the time and since I'm probably going to replace my Pixel 3a soon(ish) I thought I'd ask if there's anything worthwhile in the mid range in terms of camera and photo processing quality. So, if I were to buy a mid range smartphone, which brand of series would give me a better photographic experience? Thanks
  6. I'm currently daily driving a pair of soundcore life A1, but the lack of anc is bothering me and i don't want to damage my hearing by turning the volume up excessively. Is there anything in the $100 range (or less) with ANC? I can push my budget to $150 if it also has transparency mode and a small enough case. Edit: also, be able to connect to multiple devices would be great.
  7. thanks for the explanation. So far it seems to be holding just fine, if I get another BSOD i'll lower the undervolt. Cheers
  8. Thanks, those options were indeed unchecked. I'll see in the next few days if it worked. One thing I don't understand, is that I had the same undervolt values for years and never before I had a similar issue. Why would it happen now?
  9. Twice now in the same week I've experienced a BSOD with MEMORY_MANAGEMENT error and in both cases it happened upon waking up my laptop from sleep (by opening the lid) after some light gaming. I wonder if this issue is related to one I had posted about some time ago when I was seeing a number of WHEA PCI/PCIE Bus Errors: https://linustechtips.com/topic/1347284-whea-pcipcie-bus-errors-what-are-they-and-should-i-be-worried/ So far I tried investigating with Windows Memory Diagnostic, Dell's Hardware Diagnostic and checked my SSD health with CrystalDisk Info, all of which returned no issues whatsoever, but besides that I don't know what else I can do to diagnose the problem or even how serious of an issue this is. Specs: Dell XPS 15 9560 i7-7700HQ (undervolted with Throttlestop at -120mV offset) 16GB RAM DDR4 NVidia GTX 1050 4GB PM961 NVMe SAMSUNG 512GB SSD Bios v1.18 Windows 10 Home 64bit (21H2) Can anyone shed some light on what's goign on and if I should be worried? Dump files.7z
  10. I have a need for some external storage devices (HDDs, SSDs and USB flash drives) to be compatible with both Windows and Mac OS because that's the nature of my job. The machines in question aren't mine otherwise I'd solve the problem by installing the appropriate drivers, so exFAT being cross compatible with almost every os out there seems the right way to go. These storage devices would be used for short term storage and transfer between systems where a network connection isn't viable. I've heard however, from people who couldn't provide more than personal anecdotes, that exFAT isn't as solid as NTFS or HFS+ and that there are concerns about performance or even data corruption/loss. Is this true or is it an unfounded rumour? Is exFAT a good choice for my use case scenario? Thanks
  11. I just checked both and I think I'll go with Bitwarden, will use it for a while and see how it goes. At first glance it seems more user friendly than Keepass.
  12. I've been a LastPass user for a year, but I find hard to justify the cost just to be able to access my password from both pc and mobile (I don't care about the other features). So, I'm here looking for an alternative. - Safe and reliable (duh!) - Free or low cost (up to 30€/year maximum) for use on 2 devices simultaneously - Must work on Windows and Android - Must have fingerprint support on mobile - Must have a Firefox browser extension - (Optional) MacOS and iOS Support - (Optional) Family plan available Thanks. Edit: just to specify, this is for personal use, not in a business. No need for over the top security or anything like that.
  13. I'm writing this just in case anybody has my same problem. I eventually found some that I actually like: Anker Soundcore Life A1. They are normally 60€, but I found a good deal for half the price. They sound pretty good and even have three EQ settings, fit easily and securely in my ears, the charging case is very compact. I don't know why the previous ones I tried at the same price range sounded so dreadful (unless I was so unlucky to have received defective products), but I'm finally happy with my purchase, and at a discount too. Thanks everybody.
