  1. Really excited to see where's gaming gonna be in the next few years. Hardware as well as software
  2. 8GB, another 8 will come the next year or so when I have some money around. I have a 24" right now, my future desk will be wider so more space between me and the screen, so 27 is perfect for me. Haven't thought about OS? which one is the best for gaming? Windows 7 pro 64-bit? most likely. Dont like the 8.1 too much smartphone-like. I want a desktop experience on my desktop
  3. I thought going with 1x8GB because I will be buying another one shortly after it. Then dual-channel 16GB
  4. Hello everyone, The idea is to create a 1080p gaming machine, that is also gonna serve for multimedia, web browsing, music, and some other low-demanding tasks. Budget is around $1000. The color scheme of the build is going to be Black/Yellow with a lot of custom modding I will do. It will look pretty nice and gonna post some HD pictures once it's done. So the complete PC right now in my head is impossible, I wanted to build a nice gaming rig, and then, slowly upgrade. Let's start with the parts of upcoming machine: CPU: Intel Core i5-4670k - thought going with the common, great all-round 4770k. Not much games use hyper-threading (if any) so i saved a nice $100 (my country pricing) going with the 4670k which is still an awesome CPU. GPU: MSI R9 270X HAWK Edition - An awesome 1080p budget graphics card. Very silent and cool. Awesome benchmarking results as well. More than enough for now - planning to upgrade the GPU later, once more demanding games come out. MOTHERBOARD: MSI MPOWER Z87 - A great looking, solid feature-packed motherboard that is also not expensive. I don't use ALL the bells and whistles so figured out I could save a little - still has everything I need. Trusted brand as well, good over-clocking abilities and I wanted a z87 chipset. CASE: Phanteks Enthoo Pro - This case is just released, it is a perfect full tower case. No compromises at all. Incredible release at just $99. Also wanted a full tower due to a lot of future upgrades I'm gonna be doing. Also comes with a 200mm fan, PSU Bracket. Sweet for modding. Gonna mount some 360mm radiators and other cool stuff over time when I get more money. PSU: Thermaltake Smart-SE 730M - Had to save a bit here. Still a trusted brand, 80+ Bronze certified, very quiet, 140mm fans, modular. Nice black cables. Maybe will order custom-sleeved cables (will see). Gonna put some stickers on it to match the wanted color scheme. Very cheap in my country. STORAGE: Western Digital 2TB HDD - for now, gonna buy a 120GB SSD later for the OS, few apps, and a few games. SSD comes later. May add another HDD later but for now 2TB is enough for me. RAM: Corsair Vengeance 1x8GB 1866 DIMM - RAM is also gonna be upgraded to 16GB later. Common 8GB will be just fine for now, also Corsair is a trusted brand. Kind of standard here. COOLING: Phanteks included 200mm front and 140mm rear will be painted black/yellow. Other fans will be Corsair AF140mm painted black/yellow also. For the CPU Cooling i'll use a cheap air cooler for the beginning, later i will probably build a custom cooler myself. 360mm rad, EK/Swiftec Water-block...Gonna look very cool (pun intended). PERIPHERALS: Display: 27" professional gaming monitor. Haven't decided yet, but aiming at BenQ/ASUS. I need 1ms/144hz refresh rate. 1080p of course. Keyboard: Most likely Corsair K40 Mechnical. Considering some others as well. Mouse: Most likely Corsair Raptor M40/Steelseries Sensei. Maybe this will change but I don't think so. Headset: Most likely Corsair Vengeance 2100. I really want headset to be wireless, so considering anything wireless. Speakers: NO_CLUE 1 Mouse Matt: Corsair XL CUSTOM: A killer very large & long desk which is already done, will post pictures soon. Cable Box to hide all the cables in need of clean look and minimalistic feel. Headphone Holder Ikea Organizers Mini Fridge with Cold Drinks and other stuff (silent) That's it guys. Tried to make it to satisfy all my needs while on a budget, awesome gaming performance with the aesthetics I want, also a minimal look on the desk. What do you think? Please recommend anything. Peripheral/watercooling component advises will be appreciated!
  5. Would love this phone Linus...i have been supporting you for YEARS and Can't afford this phone and I would really use it
  6. Multiple shops really...Prices very similar to the ones you see on PCPartPicker or so, reasonable pricing...Money isn't a problem that much everything left to decide right now are PSU and GPU
  7. I've done a bit more research today, what do you think about AX860i? I know it's double the price but it is fully modular, 80+ gold, high quality, should be way more silent, plus in matches my color scheme. Also i think power supply is overkill now but that's basically the part I'm never going to change so its good to have a strong PSU. Opinion?
  8. 16 is what I plan at least for around 2 years. 32 gigs come later as i want to keep this upgradable as possible. 16 is more than enough for now, and thanks i also think 120GB is a solid option. It's not much in difference, but r9 290x has a bit more stream processors and especially uber/quiet mode (this is why i even consider it) Thinking im not going to buy another GPU soon It makes sense to got with 290x just because 290 is hot enough and loud and quiet mode is very nice to have here. Plus later i can get another GPU and CrossFire it or whatever, CPU i think will work for several years to come. Also, is the AX760i from Corsair worth the extra money? It matches my red/black color scheme but it's double the price of CX750 so I'm curious. I can also save up and buy AX860i, Overkill i know, but for the future expansion
  9. Thanks for all the information. I have some contacts in Switzerland where I can get all parts with free shipping. So availability is solved. I am very satisfied with my other components. I don't plan on replacing anything soon (Later i would replace a GPU, eventually a CPU/Motherboard if thats needed) But at least 2 years of work is what I expect. My first choice was strictly 290. Performance is very similar. But it's hotter and louder. I like those uber/quiet features a lot. For example, I would put it on Uber when I'm playing a highly intensive game. The price isn't all that much different. Also for other things it would be on quiet and with certain mods it doesn't require any other cooling. In therms of SSD, I never had one. I should be impressed with the speed. I do think 120gigs is enough? I plan to install my system (haven't decided which one yet) and some major programs there. 120 should be fine. Also, i see you are using Corsair 750watt power supply. Experience? I don't know which 750 Corsair power supply to get, there are 3 series...
  10. Can't wait to see the end result of this build! Really a nice idea and cool that you went with custom sleeved cables!
  11. I live in Serbia, pretty much a third-world country. No Corsair or motherboard here. I think this is a budget for a high end PC (I am not saving on the graphics card as you can see but Titan is still a bit too much) Budget is somewhere around $2000. I will add stuff later (RAM and High-End Peripherals). I could spend a little extra on a R9 290X.
  12. Hello everyone, I am a new user here, I'm planning to do a gaming oriented build that can also handle video editing well. I've done some research and looked over LOTS of parts, and I've decided something like this: Case: CORSAIR OBSIDIAN 750D MotherBoard: ASROCK FATAL1TY KILLER 990FX CPU: AMD FX-8350 8-CORE PROCESSOR CPU Cooler: CORSAIR H100I GPU: AMD R9 290/AMD R9 290X RAM: KINGSTON HYPERX BEAST CL9 2x8GB 1600MHz DDR3 PSU: CORSAIR CM750/RM750/AX760 SSD: SAMSUNG 840 EVO 120GB HDD: 2TB WESTERN DIGITAL My main questions are: The differences between 3 corsair power supplies (CM750, RM750, AX760) and the advantages of R9 290X over R9 290. Please have in mind that this is a budget build, so I don't have unlimited budget, but still want to have a high-end PC (this is mostly for the graphics card) Is the R9 290X worth the extra money? Considering I really like Uber/Quiet modes as well as software controls. Also, I chose 1600MHz RAM because I don't plan on overclocking the RAM, however, another 16 gigs will be added later (total 32GB 1600MHz RAM) I appreciate any answers. Thanks in Advance
