  1. They are PIA associates, they get paid if someone buys through one of their links (same as amazon, they have mentioned it in their videos before and are quite open about it). But its a shame that unlike amazons associate program, the "kickback" to ltt comes at the added cost to the viewer. Although it is disappointing, i feel like this is more of a PIA problem than LTT. Maybe by next year they can work out a better deal with PIA, and i will use their link. Edit* After thinking about it more, the 29$ usd price may have been a result of me renewing a past subscription. When i look back using incognito, both options give me 39$ as the price.
  2. I actually just got a one year pia subscription yesterday. it was 29$ USD without LTT code and 39 with it. Sorry LTT! ill watch your ads and eventually get your 10$ to you that way.
  3. That is a good point. Since i mostly play open world games, im sure ill see it holding me back more and more. But thanks for your imput! I mean technically it is still proper vram, the last 512mb just goes like 1/4th the speed though right? ? I will definitely try to find some 2nd hand memory when im back home, but time is limited, so might be stuck buying new. And that is true, it should help a bit with resale. Thanks for both of your imput!
  4. Good Morning! So i know this question has been beaten to death, but! I have a twist that makes it a little different. So this is more of a what would you do in my situation sorta thing. But first, my current specs: Intel i5-6500 3.2 ghz EVGA GeForce GTX 970 4GB Kingston HyperX FURY Black 8GB 2133MHz DDR4 ASUS LGA1151 ATX Motherboards H170 PRO GAMING I game on 1080 without streaming and tend to have mostly everything closed in the background. Although its getting out dated i still play high-ultra on most games. However, i noticed in AC odyssey my system was starting to show its age (my gtx 970 onboard 4 gbram was maxed out most of the time). Now i know i would see improvements if i doubled my ram, i mean right now chrome takes a healthy 4gb just in the background. BUT here is the twist. I plan on selling this PC this time next year. I am currently down in the Caribbean with my partner while she pursues her med degree, and i dont plan on taking it back to canada with me after. Computer resell value here is solid, and i might be able to get fairly close (relatively) to retail value on my system. So knowing this, would you invest in the 65$ USD stick of ram for the boost, or would you save that 65$ and put it towards your new system next year? P.S Yes currently i am running single channel ram. Me three years ago did not know it made such a difference!
  5. Just started two weeks ago, cpu folding on an old mac laptop most of the day. Fold on my main desktop for a few hours a day when im not gaming (gtx970). Wont make the leader boards with it i know, but every bit helps!
