  1. Hi all linustechtips.com users, I have this old monitor that I would like to use as a second monitor. I don't want to use full screen on both at the same time because they are both pretty different (different refresh rate, bezels are thicker) so I only want to use 1 monitor full screen at a time. Is it possible to have one monitor on full screen (such as a game or video) and the other at the desktop where I can browse the web or look in file explorer? I use both Windows and Linux so if someone could tell me if it's possible for that to happen on both OSes that would be great. Thanks
  2. Is there a free method to add a local account that has its data wiped every time you log off the account, in other words whenever you sign in to the account it would show the "Hi, Getting things ready for you" screen that comes when you sign into a new account? Tried adding guest account but that doesn't wipe data on log off, tried guest but that doesn't block the account from accessing other user folders and I've heard it doesn't let you add any more accounts to Windows.
  3. In Disk Management right click any disk then go to properties, then volumes and it will tell you if it is guid or mbr
  4. You can use a boot loader like GNU GRUB2 to boot to the operating systems. When you turn on the system it will give you the option to boot to Windows or Parrot OS. I don't know if Parrot OS installs GRUB though (I think it probably will, if Windows is installed first at least), I have never used it but you can install it manually (I can't tell you though because I haven't had to install it manually and I don't know how)
  5. I am going to try and dual-boot Windows 10 and MacOS Mojave (This isn't on a Mac). Does the installer wipe the disk, removing Windows and installing Windows after mac OS?
  6. Also make sure that the USB you're trying to boot into is prioritised higher than the boot loaders installed on the hard drive, or it will still try to boot from the hard drive if you haven't already. Is there any error you got when booting to the USB?
  7. Maybe try creating a local account or sign into a different Microsoft account (create a new user account in the settings) and try to install the app on the new account? If that works then it might be a problem with the account. I would also try a clean installation if that doesn't work (wipe hard disk and install windows fresh or just delete all windows partitions and install) if you are okay with losing all data on the hard disk that isn't backed up if windows is activated with a digital license (I don't know much about product keys and how they work, it might remove the activation if its activated with a product key but someone could correct me here) Edit: BTW don't try clean installing yet, someone else might have a different solution so do it as a last resort there isn't any more solutions.
