  1. there is good chance that msi has integrated their hub into their dragoncenter app, which also works with their mobos and other hardware, but i would look for reviews or on the webpage if that is the case, there is only one hub that i personally know of that isn't software controlled, so i would assume that hubs from big names are all accessible from software level
  2. this can be caused by quite literally anything, give more details, any specific games have this issue? have you been tinkering with settings? do other applications that use gpu perform poorly too? have you tried different gpu? best i can do rn is to tell you to update drivers
  3. 1. if your mobo has sufficient amount of fan headers you can use these, but this will probably require software for that mobo, hub is more elegant and might not need software, depending on your choice (they usually plug into reset button cables and you choose the color/pattern using this button) 2. you can use any fan hub that you like and that suits your needs, as i said, both software controlled and softwareless options are available, if you take mobo and fan hub from one manufacturer there is good chance that software for them will be bundled into one 3. have all the rgb components from one manufacturer. also there is signal rgb, but i haven't had much luck with that. also some manufacturer's parts can be controlled with asus aura (i think?) but you would need to do your research here, if the components you have are compatible 4. afaik, yes
  4. currently have vengeance, rgb would malfunction on occasions, probably due to icue and the fact that i wanted the lights turned off (random LEDs would decide to shine random color and software knew nothing about it) i would personally go tridentZ from g.skill, don't know of their software, but they use high quality memory modules and are generally considered good overclockers, and rgb option should be pleasing for you if you like the looks of vengeance
  5. I'm thinking about my next monitor upgrade, only knowing for certain that the must haves are 27", 1440p, 16:9 straight IPS panel and 240hz (or greater) refresh rate, and as of now I've settled down on these two: Asus PG27AQN and Alienware AW2721D. I've done (modest amount of) research and it is clear that these two do different things better, namely the Asus display has 360hz panel and better pixel response times, while Alienware beats it at color accuracy and HDR performance, while also being cheaper. This alone should make the decision easy in theory, just decide what is more important, gaming or content, and pick the better one for the job, but I still have doubts about either, so I have following questions: -is pixel overdrive bad enough on either that it could be a deal breaker? and if not then is one remarkably better than the other? -is alienware HDR good enough to at least consider using, or just good enough for a sticker on a box? -does either have noticeable problems with backlight bleed? -this one might sound weird, but does 360hz of the Asus in gaming outweight the color accuracy of Alienware for content or the other way around, or are these equally overkill? This should be a one for me to answer, but I've never experienced either such refresh rate or color reproduction, so having a second opinion would be helpful. -which one would you pick personally, can ignore pricing for this one. My questions are directed mostly to owners and ex-owners of at least one of these, but opinions from people who have experienced them (even if for a short time) or who understand more from the reviews than I do are also welcome. Also my decision is not final yet, I am open for propositions, the only requirements are pretty much what I said in first line + availability in Europe, and g-sync ultimate would be nice to have (and while I am willing to spend quite some cash, don't go bonkers with the price, I don't exactly need a cinema grade color calibration screen or anything), so if you have interesting proposition, I am listening.
  6. So i had it installed on my laptop and after some time passed (maybe because of updates idk) it started showing in system when i used fn+F shortcuts (it was always showing something like volume change in windows, but after some time it started also showing stuff like changing profile or switching on/off the touchpad). Sadly i have screwed my system at one point and had to make a recovery with saving files, but it meant that i had to reinstall armoury crate, and showing fn shortcuts in system has not worked ever since. I have browsed trough entire armoury crate and installed everything from asus website that made sense to bring this functionality back but nothing worked. Also for some reason I am now on Beta version (or at least I think I am?) of this software and if there is a way to download previous versions, I failed to find it. It's nothing crucial obviously, but it's a quality of life improvement that I enjoyed while it lasted so it would be nice to bring it back. What makes no sense is that on dualboot linux this functionality exists and works, without armoury crate obviously, since there is no version of this software for that system. I am deeply sorry if it's explicitly shown somewhere in software as a toggle or something like that, I just couldn't find it, and yes, I have tried googling it before posting here. Asus FX505GT Intel Core i5-9300H, 2x8GB 2666 CL19, GTX1650 Max-Q / BIOS Version 310, Armoury Crate UWP App 4.0.8.0, ROG Live Service 1.2.5.0, Armoury Crate service 4.0.12
  7. So basically my friend has shown me a phone that to my surprise i couldn't find anywhere online, seems old (he claims it's from '60) on top of it has written only "cordless telephone, model 129sp FCC ID: " and front sticker claims it was made by "comandare" (unsurprisingly when you look for it you're more likely to find commodore) honestly at this point it's about pure curiosity, i'm hardly ever seeing something that isn't first result in google
  8. do you have hardware acceleration on in chrome settings? no idea if it's gonna work but it's worth a try settings>advanced>system should be 2nd from the top
  9. on both computers there are 2 users with same settings: "admin" with same password and "guest" with no password
  10. So i shared a folder from my pc in local network, most stuff behaves like you would expect, except my laptop which can access this folder from password protected administrator account without authorization but can't at all from a non protected user account (other machines in the network can access it with authorization). Windows prompt says that the cause may be lack of permissions to access this network resource, but it is not true since other account on same machine has no such problem (folder permissions are set to allow read and write to everyone). Next line says "Account limitations are not allowing this user to log in. It may be for example: disallowed empty passwords, limited hours of login or enforcement of rules restrictions" (translated by myself from my language, probably not 100% accurate but you should get the idea) Is the fix just setting the password for this user in windows or is it a bug/problem that needs a checkbox somewhere in the system to work or something? To be clear, I'm not sharing folders very often, I might've screwed something along the way of setting the folder.
  11. don't care for rgb either, if anything i would disable it right off to save on battery then again, i can't tell the difference between $100 and $1000 headset, to me audio is audio and that's it also, when i said features i meant something like aforementioned sound daizychaining of arctis 7, not simulated 7.1 present in pretty much any gaming headset
  12. So i am looking for wireless gaming headset (obviously) and i can't decide between these 2 I already had arctis 7 pre2019 (sent for repair, didn't come back, i get refund) and i more or less know what to expect from them but i just don't know if virtuoso isn't just straight up better so i am looking for 2nd opinion. I am no audiophile, so don't bother telling me about sennheiser + mic, i mostly care about features, and arctis has 2 that i care for specifically, namely sound daizychaining and separate channels for system and voice communicator tracks. On the other hand from what i've read and heard so far virtuoso are more comfy, have better mic, lower latency, better software (i already use icue for keyboard) and ever so slightly better sound (also i find them looking better, not that it matters) My primary use cases are gaming at home, laptop on the go (study purposes + occasional casual gaming), music from phone and parsec hosting (just this alone makes me care about arctis's dual track) On the one side virtuoso seem to be a better overall product, on the other arctis are more feature rich, i honestly can't tell which i value more. Also in my region prices are comparable, so getting cheaper one isn't really a viable option.

  14. It hit me when I was watching 12k ultrawide video, when linus said that nvidia asked him to explain what quadros are meant for. And now I wonder, why does it matter to nvidia all that much what people are buying which graphics card for? It's not like it matters, it's more money for nvidia since quadros are more expensive than gtx/rtx and after installing geforce drivers it performs good enough. So where's the problem? If someone wants to game on quadro, then why not?
