  1. i have a Sanyo DP26640 HDTV LCD which my RX 480 is hooked up to via hdmi 1. the tv sees the hdmi port on the gpu as a dvi connection the screen is stretched even tho the gpu set the screen res to 720p and the tv manual says HDMI (INPUT1 or INPUT2) An all digital AV interface that can accept uncompressed video signals for the very best picture possible. NOTE: A DVI conection is possible via the HDMI (DVI) INPUT1 using an appropriate adapter and connecting the audio to the Stereo Mini AUDIO jack. please help me sort this out i know this is a know issue on older sanyo tvs im just wondering what my options are as i dont have a monitor only my tv i got it sorted using the amd hdmi scaler option i set it to 8% and its fixed
  2. @jaslion @Needfuldoer @Blue4130 i feel like an idiot turns out i forgot that i connected a 1TB HDD to the sas controller card hence why windows is showing 2 drives lol
  3. @Blue4130 this is what i see under disk management drive is set up in MBR
  4. so i have a dell perc H700 with a 3TB sas drive connected to my gaming pc. the perc H700 sees the drive and allows me to create a virtual disk using the full capacity of the drive, however when i initialize the drive windows 10 sees two separate partitions instead of a single partition with the full empty drive capacity im confused any help forgot to add the drive is in a RAID 0
  5. @thrasher_565 i got it sorted im gonna use some thin metal sheets to cover the gap will make a new post when the build is 100% finished along with pics
  6. so picked up and early to mid 2000's atx case for 10$. to use with my core i7 4790 gaming setup im building. it looks like the previous owner filed down one of the side panels with a dremmel or sand paper, no idea why they did that tho. im going to assume maybe they had trouble getting the panel to close properly. anyhow what are my options as far as filling the top of the panel to make it level with the top of the case below are some pics i took to best illustrate the issue im thinking maybe some kind of putty to fill in the gaps so that when i close the side panel it doesnt look like theres a huge gap between the top of the case and the side panel when you close the side panel the gap is very noticeable electrical tap was placed simply to show where it was sanded what are my options quick edit i should add that i added some glue to the side panel where the seam was coming apart
  7. @Blue4130 since i have never used epoxy before is there anything i should know so i dont go into the situation blind? i.e. cure time application method etc
  8. @Blue4130 i have never used epoxy plus i have severe asthma and idk if i feel comfy using epoxy got any other suggestions
  9. So I got my computer up and running but one of the metal bracket that holds the side panel in place came loose without using welding or soldering because I don’t have a soldering iron or a welder looking at the pictures below what’s the best way to glue it back together so it’s sturdy enough to be able to close the case Sorry those are the best photos I could take im wondering if this will work along with some claps to help it cure properly https://www.harborfreight.com/gorilla-glue-precision-glue-pen-with-fast-cure-97330.html i dont have any tools for solder brazing welding etc quick edit i have never used epoxy before and im not sure if i would feel comfy using it
  10. @RONOTHAN## thats good info thank you i built this i7 4790 non k gaming system for fun and this was the fastest memory i could find
  11. @RONOTHAN## odd i thought for ddr3 at least to reach 1600mhz you needed xmp on my ddr4 sticks to hit 32000mhz i would need to enable the 25600 XMP profile i guess i thought all DDR3 sticks had an XMP profile oh well at least my ram runs at it's advertised speed
  12. @RONOTHAN## can you clarify im a bit confused on what you mean
  13. i have a gigabyte GA-Z97-HD3 (rev. 2.1) with an i7 4790 non k cpu and HyperX FURY (2 x 8GB) 16/32GB HX316C10FBK2/16 DDR3-1600 PC3-12800 Desktop Memory when i go into the bios the option to enable XMP is greyed out why? https://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/GA-Z97-HD3-rev-21#ov
  14. @aisle9 thanks having never used an msi card before this is the one im looking at its 60$ including shipping thoughts https://www.techpowerup.com/gpu-specs/msi-rx-480-gaming-x-4-gb.b3739
  15. so im looking at buying a used RX 480 for my i7 4790 gaming setup. and i cant decide if i should opt for a reference cooler design or a dual fan design will be buying an AIB model and i see msi and xfx both have reference cooler gpus heres some pics of my case just in case it helps you figure out which cooler design is better for me as you can see my case doesnt have much room for case fans lol
  16. @smthclever thanks but a 6600 is a bit to new for what im goin for
  17. @kitnoman im in the usa im torn between an rx 480 8gig or an rx 570 4gig
  18. @leclod yeah im pretty happy with the top fan so we shall see how it goes for now i will leave the top fan as intake and see what happens while monitoring temps
  19. so im building a pc based around the i7 4790, and im using a Thermaltake Smart 700W 80+ White Certified PSU. i know not the best psu but its all i could afford at the time. im looking for a high end gpu something era appropriate meaning a 1080Ti or an RX590 is about as high as i wanna go i plan to buy used off ebay doom 2016 and doom eternal and stray are the 3 most demanding games im gonna play screen res will be a 17 inch TFT display with a resolution of 1280x1024 this is the only monitor i have and i cant afford a 1080p display if it matters for the more demanding games im thinking medium-medium high settings below is a link to my psu if you wanna scope out the specs what do you all recommend budget 120 max for a used gpu https://www.amazon.com/dp/B014W3EAX8?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details&th=1
  20. the dremel was all i had and i cant really afford a hole saw
  21. @Needfuldoer yup local computer shop had it for sale for 10$ so couldnt pass it up i do plan to get a fan guard soon will have a 4790 i7 in it
  22. so i picked up a used early 2000's atx case that has barely any airflow doesnt even have any fan mounts. so i used my Dremel to cut out a whole for a 120mm case fan in the top of the case. however as you can see in my photos the fan is sandwiched directly between the psu and a bracket that i assume is there for structural stability will the vibrations from the fan cause any issues? the fan literally touches the psu like its wedged in there tight one last thing should the fan be intake or exhaust?this will be the only fan aside from the fan on the cpu cooler if it matters
  23. i use the phanteks enthoo primo it was built for airflow it has loads of room and is fully dust filtered but if these are your only option the corsair for sure
