  1. Did this temperature issue start before or after replacing the thermal paste? Comparing to my 5600x your idle power is within 10 percent, so it doesn't appear something is running unexpectedly in the background. This has to be a cooler mounting issue. I'd try removing and re-mounting the cooler. Can you add a picture of the cooler/CPU area?
  2. What are you expecting to see? An SD card would be expandable/portable storage so I'm unclear what other options you would have.
  3. For all intents and purposes those two kits will perform the same. 3200 CL14 or 3600 CL16 would be improvements, but there almost nothing in it between the two options you're looking at.
  4. That's pretty annoying of them, since you can watch other Youtube videos in 4k all day long in Chrome. I just checked the one movie I had in my video library and sure enough, it's capped to 480p. I originally bought and watched it via Chromecast which allows 4k playback.
  5. I'd wrap the bare wire in some electrical tape or shrink-wrap, but functionally it's fine. No different than an off-the-shelf fan splitter... if a bit more janky Motherboard headers are typically rated for up to 1 amp, so two fans are fine.
  6. Wifi card = adapter. They are different names for the same thing. Seems most should be able to support it, but you might have to do a manual driver update from the card's manufacturer's site.
  7. The aluminum center maybe be soldered/welded/whatever to the aluminum fins whereas the variants with copper might be just press-fit. Just a thought. Otherwise try throwing the whole thing in the freezer to cool down the slug and then carefully heating up the outside fins might work.
  8. Have you tried switching back to the GPU now that they have fixed the aforementioned glitch? If all versions of Photoshop are having the issue then I'm inclined to believe it a driver or hardware issue. Any other programs acting strange? Can you list the hardware in the system?
  9. Have you done the basics such as re-installing photoshop and making sure all driver's are up-to-date? Kind feels like a video driver glitch.
  10. How about the two monitors? What are they?
  11. Listing the laptop and monitor models would help a lot.
  12. As long as Blender can use both devices you will not have an issue.
  13. Depending on how the lens assembly is built you can also run the risk of compressed air blowing dust inside somewhere. I just use a lens pen to brush away dust and then some lens cleaning wipes for anything like oils that needs to be cleaned off.
  14. Totally depends on the system hardware. Can you post up your full parts list for a better recommendation?
  15. Yep, that's coil whine. It's caused by the electrical components physically vibrating and can take on all sorts of different sounds.
  16. Have you verified the AIO pump is functioning and plugged into the correct motherboard headers?
  17. I'd be seeking a return and refund. Not worth the headache IMO.
  18. Perhaps you could try installing Steam on the same disk as your operating system, if you haven't already tried that?
  19. Are you re-installing the games from an existing library, such as on another hard drive? Or is it truly a 100 percent new attempt to download the games?
  20. This appears to be a combo wifi access point and router. You will still need a modem to access the internet. If you are just looking for connectivity within your LAN then it can function stand-alone.
  21. Are you re-using your game library after the re-installation of Windows? If so, did you try verifying the integrity of the game files? EDIT: In addition, searching Google for "steam 0xc000012f" yields a ton of different sites with various suggested solutions. Have you tried following some of those guides?
  22. Are you using DDU in safe mode with networking disabled? If I recall correctly that's the most complete way to remove old drivers and get new ones installed without any auto-update whatever in the background screwing things up.
  23. I see the same behavior. There's a lot going on behind the scene with GPU Boost so fluctuations are normal.
  24. I've never researched them so I don't know enough to make a recommendation.
