    Acer cg437kp looks amazing

Sorry. I forgot to write my question. It's leaked that this will cost around $1299. That seems like a pretty good price when compared to the Asus pg27uq. The only real advantage that the pg27uq has is g-sync. Why is the Acer cg437kp so 'cheap'? Is there any drawbacks I haven't noticed?

    Acer cg437kp looks amazing

This “monitor” looks perfect! I’ve been waiting for the xg438q from asus, which is 4K, 120hz, HDR 600, and freesync 2. The Acer cg437kp is 4k, 144hz, HDR 1000, and has freesync. The Acer one seems better in every way, AND it's (supposedly) cheaper than the estimated price of the xg438q. The only downsides I can see are that it doesn't have wall mounting, and it only has normal freesync, not freesync 2, which doesn't matter for me because I have a Nvidia card.( Nvidia cards can't take advantage of freesync 2, right? If you use a freesync 2 monitor, it won't be any different than a normal freesync one, right? Please correct me if I'm wrong. I would like to know. ) So hyped for this monitor. Right now I'm using a 43" 1080p 60hz with RTX 2080 ti. I love the size. Can't go smaller.

    Quick RT question

    Ok thanks.

    Quick RT question

So, I've been seeing things everywhere about the 'raytraced Minecraft'. And everyone arguing that it's path tracing, not RTX. Even though it isn't part of the official RTX brand, would these path tracing games/shaders utilise the RT cores in a RTX card?

iphones sucks because of the notch

Honestly, the notch isn't that big of a deal. I have an XR and thought the notch would get anoying, especially while playing games or watching videos, but it's really no problem.
  6. Any word on the release date of the Asus ROG XG32VQR and the ROG XG49VQ? The were supposed to be out by the end of January. Or at least a word on pricing?

Does Nvida also support FreeSync 2 (HDR)

I have been wondering this too. From what I have discovered, all Freesync 2 monitors also support normal Freesync. And in the big Google docs with a growing list of Freesync monitors, all Freesync 2 monitors seem to work flawlessly (after some firmware updates). I guess that because Freesync 2 monitors have better standards and bigger VRR windows , those higher standards are also used on the normal Freesync on those monitors. This is just my observations but I don't think Nvidia officially supports Freesync 2. Link to the VRR google docs. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1Ej9mOe5NamLldpfyFfXrqvLMZP-aG2Zi1su7QzPRNJY/htmlview?usp=sharing&sle=true Edit:. I have no idea how the HDR will work

    is va really that bad

Ok thanks. I did read the other posts, but a lot of them seemed to disagree on the quality of VA

    is va really that bad

What about VA panels used in high end monitors? Like the ones Asus will release later with 4k 120h hz HDR and Freesync 2. https://rog.asus.com/articles/gaming-monitors/the-43-rog-strix-xg438q-does-big-screen-gaming-with-freesync-hdr-2-at-4k-and-120hz/ Will this be fine for gaming? It's obviously directed towards gamers. BTW: Im posting this as a question not as a monitor recommendation.

    Asus 43" price?

Thanks again for all the info. But I have one question that I asked in another thread that was never answered. Can Freesync be used with display port 1.4 DSC ? And how exactly does the DSC work? Is the compression always on or is there a way to activate it? If the graphics card and monitor support DSC, is it on by default? It can't be used with G-Sync monitors because the module dosent support it. I want to know because without DSC, Displayport can't do 4k/120hz/10-bit/4:4:4. It will max out at 98hz with HDR on.

    Asus 43" price?

Ok. Thanks. Even if I'm not getting the 43", I'm probably going to wait for spring to buy a new monitor anyway.

    Asus 43" price?

Yeah I agree. 1440p is the sweet spot with todays hardware, but I need a 4k panel for photo editing.

    Asus 43" price?

Well, a single 2080 ti struggles to get Monster hunter world at 60 on 4k ultra. There are of course some useless stuff that can be turned off like motion blur *gag*

    Asus 43" price?

what kind of rig can even do 4k 144hz

    Asus 43" price?

well, better than a BFGD I guess.
