  1. My system works as is but when I got to upgrade the R5 2600 to a R5 5600X (Officially supported by MOBO) The computer locks up at the "American Megatrends" Screen and the VGA light is stuck on. I've swapped the system back and fourth about 3 times and the 2600 never fails to boot, while the 5600X always locks up. I've tried without the GPU, Reseating the RAM, only one stick of ram. I'm out of options. Full System Specs: Gigabyte B450 Aorus M (Updated to latest BIOS) Ryzen 5 2600 GTX 970 16GB Vengeance RGB Pro 3200MHz 600w EVGA BR WD Black SN770 1tb Windows 11
  2. Budget: $350 ish Country: USA Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Rocket League, Cult of the Lamb, Cities Skylines, Horizon Zero Dawn, Overwatch, Cyberpunk 2077, GTA V, Minecraft (w/ shaders), Premiere Pro, Photoshop, (maybe Blender) Other details: I'm noticing a reasonable bottleneck with my Ryzen 5 2600 on a B450 Aorus M Motherboard. This is after I upgraded from a GTX 970 to a RTX 3070. Sure, there's an upgrade path that could let me squeeze out another 10-25 fps, but first: - Idk if my poor entry level VRMs can handle a 5800x3D - Board is PCIe 3.0 and is bottlenecking my SSD and GPU - 5800x3D costs as much as an entry level board and intel i5 13500 Should I just get a new board and CPU? Are there other less pricey ways to upgrade? I built this system new in 2019 so it's due for an upgrade. I just can't afford much atm. Specs of what I have are as follows: Gigabyte B450 Aorus M Ryzen 5 2600 w/ Hyper 212 Black Cooler 16GB 3200 MT/s Ram DDR4 RTX 3070 Founder Edition EVGA 600 BR Power Supply WD_Black SN770 1TB I'm not against using DLSS, but I do like playing in high refresh rate on my Samsung G8 3440 x 1440 175hz OLED
  3. Settled on the M3 Pro 18GB 512GB SSD for $1800. Appreciate the help
  4. I scored (or so I think) a base model M3 Pro 14" MBP for $1800 on a recent sale at Best Buy. I would prefer to find something cheaper. I'm considering a refurbished M2 Pro instead that I've found for $1600 on Apple's website. I don't know if I'd be missing out on features though. I tried so many different Windows laptops, but none fit the bill with build quality, speakers, screen, and overall non-gameriness. I prefer glossy screens over matte screens ideally OLED or Mini LED, and of course 120hz+ is a preferred option. I can find plenty of performant options from the Windows side but most fall short especially with speakers. In an ideal world, I'd love to occasionally pick up an eSports title like Rocket League and play on my 3440x1440 175hz OLED, but it seems thats wishful thinking. I've kind of given up the idea of gaming just because the MacBook Pro M2/M3 Pro are such compelling options. Also, why does no one offer a haptic trackpad in 2024? Diveboard trackpads are so BAD. I would really love some recommendations of video editing laptops around the $1600 mark that might be able to game. The feel of the latop is very important to me. Windows is fine I'm just very in the Apple ecosystem. Thanks!
  5. Never happens in overwatch or Battlefield 1 only Rocket League my GPU only gets used about half so I wouldn't think its overheating.
  6. Specs of my rig are below So I have an issue it only happens on Rocket League. My screen will go black the sound of the game continues, but its just extended of the same note, and come back, but it goes to the desktop and it takes me a good 15-20 seconds to get the game going again although it will resume right where I left off so not a full crash. I want to fix this because it hurts my competitive rank when stuff like this happens.
  7. you can go on ebay and get a license for $6-9 its "grey market" but it activates
  8. LGA 775 was a weird socket i agree check the compatibility list for that mobo
  9. Are you sure that isn't Fahrenheit? the CPU or literally anything should power down above 100 C
  10. Do i just have a really good chip? I feel like a 140W CPU at 4Ghz would kill my H80i V2 because my 2500K at 95 watts(4.2 GHz) ran the thing at 80-85 under load
  11. Because it's IPS it has better viewing angles and better color representation which could be good for photoshop and such
  12. Ah I see I didn't know it was soldered. To be honest I don't really know the limits of this cpu temps aren't really a problem (idles at 35 and under load it maxes out at 58) just wanted to know if i can push past 4GHz on all cores in a safer way
  13. Acer makes really good cheap IPS monitors for around $100 and they have about a 5ms latency https://www.amazon.com/Acer-R240HY-bidx-23-8-Inch-Widescreen/dp/B0148NNKTC
  14. I haven't had any leaks and tbh I've been quite rough with it moving it between 3 computers. Also correction it's the H80i V2. I am not familiar with the policies of coolers.
  15. Best looking/ performing AIO would have to be either the NZXT Kraken X62 or the Corsair H115i. I have the H80i on my 140W tdp i7 6850K and it maxes out in the low 60's
