  1. Rather not say, lots of people refuse to help me because its old. And acording to them there will be no use in overclocking, that is for them, ive run this system for the past 8 to 9 years, as i do not have the money to spend on a new pc, so for me it is a big deal, and to me there is use in overclocking,
  2. This is my very first attempt on overclocking, so i'm thinking to take it easy, not like i can go out and just get a replacement if i do manage to pop something.
  3. Ok so after every value change, i boot into windows, and benhmark there?
  4. Hi guys When you guys overclock RAM do you run the full test every time to check for errors before changing the next thing, or is there a shorter test you can run to check for errors first and adjust, check for errors agian, no errors, run full test for stability?
  5. ok so it seems CPU overclocking is out, what about ram and Graphics card any use overclocking those?
  6. Good day guys is there anybody willing to help a overclock noob step by step with overclocking? I want to overclock my 8 year old system to get a bit better performance on gaming. I have tried to do it by myself but with all the settings and options i do not know what to adjust what to leave and where to begin. Cpu - Amd Athlon II x2 250 3GHz (stock cooler) Mobo - ECS Elitegroup a790xgm-ad3 (black series) Ram - 3x trancend ddr 3 1666 2GB and 1x samsung ddr3 10700 4GB (all 4 sticks rated at 667 but running 533.3)? If you need any more info on specs ect, please feel free to ask.
  7. no i ment like description I3 7100 to I9 7960x and Ryzen 3 1200 to Ryzen 7 2700x
  8. Nevermind, I finally found a good one over on Tom's Hardware https://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/cpu-hierarchy,4312.html
  9. can anybody please tell me were i can get a comparison chart for CPU from smallest i3 to biggest i9 and smallest ryzen 3 to biggest ryzen 7, everything i find is either a comparison of only 4 or 5 CPU or is more than 6 months old before the latest ryzen 5/7 x additions.
  10. Hi Guys Hope I'm in the right forum, if not, Please direct/move thread. I have a ECS Elitegroup A790GXM-AD3 motheboard, The header for the front panel audio is marked as Fig1. The conectors on the wires are marked as Line out FR - Red wire Line out RR - Blue wire Line out FL - White wire Line out RL - Yellow wire Mic in - Green wire Gnd - Black wire Mic power - Orange wire My connections are as follow 1 Mic in (Green wire) 2 Gnd (Black wire 3 Mic power (Orange wire) 4 nothing 5 Line out FR (Red wire) 6 Line out (blue wire) 7 nothing 8 No Pin 9 Line out RL (Yellow wire) 10 Line out FL (White wire) When nothing is plugged in, it register that a mic is plugged in, when i do plug my mic in, it does not pick up / work. if i push my headphone jack halfway, it cuts main sound and divert to earphones, plug in earphones all the way and it disables both mic and audio? Can someone plz help me?
  11. Thank you to everyone for their comments thus far, I am still looking for cheaper prices and i am only buying at around 1 Okt 2018, just doing my research so long. Will let you guys know of the final rig specs, or ask more advice, whichever comes first........

  13. Thanks Brob, I'll take the paste off Can you maybe recomend something GOOD to replace the psu (Preferebly Modular)
  14. Hi Guys I'm building my first game rig/workstation, my budget is R20 000 ((shipping included) I'm picking up at the shop, cheaper than delivery), it took me almost 2 weeks to compile the parts list after checking part compatabilities when I found PCPartpicker, (Their prices are WAY out) wich made my life somewhat easier but I am still over budget, I'll be using the pc mostly for gaming, but also for 3D Cad design. I am only re-using some of my current HDD, I will not be using any of my existing spares as they are all parts from my first build (8-9 years ago). I'm looking to overclock a bit but not too much as i still need to figuer out the whole overclock thing, I'll be running my current monitor 23" AOC e2352, 1920x1280 resolution. I am a big ASUS and Gigabyte fan as i Had no problem with them ever, the other brands, don't know.... heard about a lot of issues with specially asrock and msi. I need some help on similar or better parts at better prices to shave that R323 off I PLZ need is sombody who can tell me if there will be any space issues and all the parts will fit as pcpartpicker cannot check that, and i cannot return bought parts, so i need to buy the right stuff from the get-go. The other problem i have is that the mobo has only one rgb header, the psu, cpu cooler and case has rgb, I have a budget of R350 for some extra led's i want to install for asthetic purposes, how do i give power to everything without it looking like a backyard job? Looking forward to hear from you guys, Thanx
