so i have a gt 1030 and its in a x16 pcie slot but for some reason it reads as a x4 im so confused on how it change can someone help me with this

I have a dell optiplex sff with it only allowing 50 watts through the PCIE So no i can't get a better video card and i play gta alot and it runs great

So A few weeks ago i had made post on how when i put my ram in it wouldn't but i took the cpu today and put it back in put the ram in the slots that weren't working and tried to bootup And it booted up and the ram slots were both working again now i can add my other 2 gb and have 8gb of ram ;D i'm literally crying right now and it fixed alot of other issues too Stuttering Screen , lag in gta 5 , ram issues , boots quicker , This literally fixed all my issues i've had with this computer Thanks to whoever told me to reseat the CPU... You saved my fricking life

i see but the Psu did have a issue about 4 months ago but i fixed it with taking it apart and fixing it it was a bad wire inside the psu

So There was a thunderstorm and lightning hit the power line down the ally and it scared me but it made my computer go out the power went out as well and when the power came back on my computer wouldn't turn on i got so scared so i left it unplugged for a few hours and i tried again and it semi turned on i mean like it turned on for a second then shut off so i gave up and cut to now just tried it and it turned on and booted and everything seems okay but why did it survive and why wasn't it working before??? Thanks

Power cycling if it lost power then it will not work seem broken Power cycle it
