  1. So I'm thinking of upgrading my computer and I'm thinking of doing some water cooling, since in summer it gets so hot that I'm worried about my temperatures and I think water cooling would be a better solution. I've gone through videos on youtube and from what i've seen it always gunks up with crud and corrosion and im just too lazy to deal with shit like that, seeing how much water cooling is recommended is it worth going through all this hassle, or is the hassle just some oddity of not replacing your water enough?
  2. My router has been slow lately, speeds have gone from the usual ~50mb/s to >1mb/s. Through heaps of troubleshooting i've found that the only way to bump the speeds back up is to use the setup wizard on the router browser page (192.168.1.1) to disconnect from the WAN and then reconnect, but after a few minutes the speed will drop back down to >1mb/s. I've emailed the ISP and they've said there's so maintanence, speed throttling or network demage on their end, so I assume its something in my network causing it. So is there a software or hardware out there that will let me monitor the network so I can see if its a device thats causing the slowdown? P.S. just wanted you guys to know that if I reconnect the router to WAN it also goes through a regular restart which explains why it's good for a few minutes because it takes a while for devices to detect the wifi signal
  3. So xmas finally came and I built my new PC and it works fine for the most part, only issue I'm having is my computer will turn itself back on after I shutdown in windows. When I click shutdown it acts sort of like a restart, the screen doesn't get a connection for a few seconds and then boom; the motherboard manufacturer screen loads and windows boots up. This is only an issue with the windows shutdown, holding actual case button for 10 seconds to power off the computer will always work, doesn't matter if I'm in windows or in BIOS or manufacturer screen holding the power button doesn't let the computer turn itself on (It also works this way if I unplug or turn off the wall power). To get through this issue I just hit the power button when the manufacturer screen displays but I'm getting real sick of it. I've tried so many troubleshooting things in windows but nothing works, and I check the BIOS and all power stuff says it won't turn itself on. \ MOBO: Gigabyte A520M DS3H Motherboard Heres the other parts if you care, im too lazy to list all of them individually
  4. Yeah right I might just do that as a xmass present to myself, too sick of trying to fix it
  5. I been having an issue with my D-link DWA 131 Nano USB adaptor has been dropping out internet. It works fine until I put a load onto it, either downloading or uploading. If I watch a youtube video it loads about 10 seconds of it and the download speed drops to 0 kb/s according to stats for nerds. If I download something else it downloads a few megabytes then the download speed drops to 0. If I ping enough in cmd then it pings for a few times then will be unable to send packets to the google server. Im connected to my router according to ipconfig command. If I run troubleshooter then it comes up with an error "The default gateway is not avaliable" and then it somehow fixes it. After its fixed I get that 10 seconds of internet access again before it crashes. I've downloaded literally every single driver avaliable for my adaptor on D-Links website and nothing fixes it, and I dont think it's my computer because if I use a usb tether from my phone it works fine with no issues.
  6. Alright dues I figured out the problem, I just had a broken cable, which is why no display was coming from the gpu but was still being listed in device manager when i used motherboard graphics. Since I had to use a VGA cable for my motherboard and a HDMI for my gpu i was never able to notice the cable was the thing that broke.

  8. There is nothing about graphics in my BIOS, and i've resetted my gpu numerous times, it even shows in device manager but for some reason my motherboard doesn't use it
  9. Motherboard but if i plug it into the gpu I get no display, not even the motherboard manfuactor screen displays, but if i chagne it to the motherboard even while the computer is still on i get display meaning the computer is using the motherboard dispaly even when the gpu is connected to my monitor
  10. My GT 1030 is listed in device manager but when I plug my monitor into it and turn on my computer i get no display, it jsut uses my mobo graphics. Geforce expereicne and control panel can detect I have one and can install themself but when i try to run them I get an error saying Im not using my gt 1030 (because im not). My computer just decides to use my mobo graphics for no reason and in the BIOS there is no option to disable or enable anything and no gpu is listed but it is listed in device manager No drivers or updates have fixed it and im going insane from not being able to play games so please help me im using a dell optiplex 990 (sff).
  11. Nothing happens, my motherboard only uses my integrated graphics, though now since i learned how to skip the motherboard error my gt 1030 shows up in device manager i just cant use it, going to install NVIDIA drivers and update the thread.
  12. Nothing happened and it just proves that the motherboard does not know there is a gpu plugged in.
  13. UPDATE I launched with my monitor plugged into the gpu, then once windows booted plugged it into motherboad and it launched with a gpu in. Will update again soon.
  14. No, when I press F1 to continue the boot sequence the computer turns off on it's own, only way to get past the motherboard error is for me to turn off the computer and remove the graphics card entirely. But if it is a PCI-E slot why would it affect my 2nd slot? I haven't used the second slot until yesterday when i discovered that the issue wasn't my graphics card but somehow my motherboard, and the motherboard was fine until I ran the windows 10 setup.
  15. I decided to reinstall windows 10 from a USB, the setup displayed fine on my graphics card. After the Windows 10 setup was completed and it booted onto the HDD, I never got any display input for my monitor and through hours of troubleshooting found out no graphics card work on my motherboard anymore, I've tried all BIOS revisions but this issue seems to be beyond me, I have checked the BIOS through all revisions and I haven't found an option to enable or disable GPU or integrated graphics. I tested a GT 620 and GT 1030 and from what I can understand both graphics cards are fine and that they aren't broken (they never had any issues before) but I'm never able to use one as a display. I've tried leaving graphics card in the PCI-E slot and booting from the integrated graphics but my computers dies if I have a graphics card in my PCI-E slot(s), I can only use Intel-HD-Graphics. Since I launch without a graphics card in the PCI-E slot I'm never able to update and drivers though device manager or NVIDIA, and as you know having a GPU in a PCI-E slot(s) while i boot with integrated graphics makes my computer turn off. I've been completely lost these last couple of days, and I want to know if anyone has a solution. Computer is a Dell Optiplex 990 (sff) with a core i5 2400, 8GB of 1333Mhrz DDR3 Ram with everything else being standard Optiplex components except for any graphics card but I can't use any of them.
  16. I'm planning on case swapping my dell optiplex to a regular ATX case and an issue im having is about the heatsink/fan. I've heard that the cpu cooling is a proprietary soloution and that replacing it will require a lot of ghetto fitting. If anyone knows about a cooling bracket that wont cause any issues can you please inform me
