Ty for the reply! Let me just say upfront that our isp might be one of the worst in the world so yup it would be the worst idea... sigh. But didn't know you can do that manageable switch thing thru lan1 and dmz too. They say dmz makes you open to attacks though but the plan is to just dmz between routers right? The reason i am asking is our setup is isp to asus then to google wifi. they are all connected thru a lan cable. I bridged google wifi. Would it be better dmz asus to google wifi too? Btw, we have asus as primary cuz google wifi didn't have a vpn option and was recommended by nord. Also, we have 20mbps connection, so do you think upgrading to cat6 cables are necessary? sorry can't resist but hopefully a short rant about our isp. they gave us a router that has 4 lans and a usb. you can only use 1 lan and 2 wifi. The other 3 are suppose to be for tv programming if you get it thru them. Some opportunist were able to figure out how to access the other lan and be able to provide 25mbps to each and everyone of them. They reacted by locking everything instead of fixing the problem.They are saying its point to point so they did it that way. The only options they left for us are just 2.4 and 5 wifi. if you want features like bridge, dns, any simple changes on routers, you need to sign a waiver for admin access. The waiver makes them not liable for the router anymore. Some customers that are having problems now receive little to no help because of that waiver regardless of what the problem is. On top of that, there is always news of sea lines getting cut so we have terrible speed. We use it for work so can't risk hacking it though its really so simple to do :((

Imo it matters little where you are right now cuz even though you get caught you still get away with it and be able to do it again. About the VPN, I wanna come clean and yup we also want it for the netflix. I just chose nord cuz I see it a lot on youtube and when i checked it out on reddit there was a list that it had most green checkmarks :)) When you use it though, what do you use or if you hear people using it a lot what do they use? Need to google the iihf lol. It does not snow where I live so i don't know how to appreciate the sport but if you can name one game I should watch what should it be? For programs, we work from home and wanna make sure our client stays with us cuz they are really nice. So we were thinking how to make things more secure and better for them. Just a background first we have been working for a client overseas for more than a year already so to show we want to grow with him we want to up our setup. The question for youtubing on the other hand is for my son who wanted to do some youtubing.Lastly is there a best way to setup/program an asus router? We were initially planning on getting bitdefender small office so we tried the free version. The program began notifying us its blocking websites every 5 seconds which was weird cause we had the free edition prior. So i mailed them about it and after a couple of emails and sending information to them, they found out nothing was wrong after a week. All they said was after reviewing what i sent they found nothing wrong and if i wanted it to be investigated further they can. I just find it weird they did not tell me why it happened in the first place. Also after the free trial expired, it was very difficult to get instructions on how to install the free version again. So is this is a normal scenario for paid antivirus or is there a better one out there? We were also planning to get Nord VPN but after what jay said about nord not being upfront about the data breach they have we are not thinking twice of getting them. We already got the free trial and we did not encounter any problems which made us even buy an asus router cuz thats what they recommended-the much cheaper versions though For these two, we wanted brands that are more or less known on the web so when our employer checks them out its easy to appreciate the upgrades. We were also waiting for black friday to buy these stuff. Planning to buy the VPN first then find a cheap country to buy the antivirus afterwards. I have not found any deals posted yet so if there is any to watch out for kindly share too Any other programs you might suggest as well? For youtubing though, i just downloaded davinci resolve cuz its seems everyone says it got everything the others got but is not for beginners. We also OBS. We dont have a decent camera though so we are just using the camera on our iphone 7plus. Is it possilbe to use the animoji animation thing when filming on older devices? We are a kinda shy family so we just want to try this out without showing our faces :)) For router setup though, we just did the basic which is the setup and setting up wifi. Does changing DNS still matter? Also, our ISP won't allow their router to be in bridgemode. Is there another way to solve the double nat problem? I know this is a handful but if you can just answer the questions for small office we would be more than greatful! TIA!!

saw you had dreamhack as a partner! so i thought, why can't normal people create their own dreamhack on their own homes. Maybe they do, but my dreams have not reached that for so I haven't googled it or came across a video about it. 5 man cheap dreamhack setup... i know you gain more views with the op pc like the 10k pc you just opened(didnt know prices can reach that high) but give us peasants something to dream and aim for. A five man setup that can be done in the living room, i would say kitchen cuz most of your videos are there but a living room would feel more real. wire management, internet speed, extention cords, monitors, pillows as seats, etc. whatever makes it work or tell us its not doable... dunno... also regarding the suggestion of introducing your people to have segments... it seems your doing it already... one video though i didn't like is the amazon basics one... i don't want to see mr. sebastian out harrased by someone... does not feel right... i was more interested on why is he out annoying him than checking out what amazon is selling. And i was really interested to know about amazon basics. Sorry I am bad and lazy with names, but i think your old camera guy, the asian one (who is not that wacky one) can create good videos with you. Thanks! i like 7... something affordable though... that you would actually loose money by selling it that cheap... but it should have a crazy(linus inspired) design, small enough to be a keychain or something to put on your desk. i saw a vid that you liked a crowbar. give us your own version of a crowbar! tag it under advertising cost

@ all sorry for the late reply but ty for all your replies... really learned a lot... i browsed all of the links and google the vpns you mentioned... some of them are too expensive and others are worryingly cheap... some don't have much online presence at all so we are going for the most suggested... so we boiled it down to two pia cuz i remember a video linus trashed a sponsor for selling out... forgot who... and nord for i agree with @KnightSirius regarding the location and most sites really have solid reviews of the vpn... both are less than 3$ right now as well if you opt for longterm... now its up to wifey since she has a better "gut" feeling than me lol... thanks again! We were thinking of getting a vpn so my inlaws who just arrive can watch tv series here in netflix. They just came from canada for a vacation and was sad to know they can't watch tv series anytime they wanted. They basically just want to binge it Havent used netflix yet so hopefully something that could help our crappy internet here in the philippines as well. TIA!

I agree! i think if you do your youtube analyzing thingy you would see you have fans all over the world but of course it would be very expensive and might be extremely unfair to those who went there... it would be awkward if you give the ride for free if you don't give that person some freebies as well when he arrives... so it would create problems on what items you give to the people who are there already... I don't think this would be a problem though if what linus was saying on the wifey aniv thingy was true you got one bigshot already... btw what is linus last name? i feel weird calling him by his first for some reason lol Anyways, my suggestion though is from what i heard from previous ltx is you don't have something big/event happening... it is just extremely fun... It might be good to announce/start segments created by your employees on ltx... I think your trying to find your new partner in crime given he went to float... aside from the tech dude one... it looks like linus is a really great boss so why not build up on that by introducing his people more with their own segments... I am not sure if he really is for i have not worked there yet but I am really buying it so I really like watching him do things with different people in the company... I like someone who he trust who would really disagree with him just for the sake of disagreeing... don't want that dude leaving to create his own channel though cuz i enjoy the channel as it is A segment you could start though(dunno if your doing this already) is building a bnew pc that you suggest everyone buy at ltx 2019... then every next ltx you upgrade a part of it untli you can't upgrade it anymore. So basically find a long time partner to start with. I suggest a psu brand or hdd(seagate fan). I heard they have around 5 years warranty so you basically don't need to change it. Depending on how many people buy the initial unit on 2019, it might be easier for you to look for a sponsor next year given how many might be upgrading with you. You can force your fan base too by making the machine some sort of trophy or achievement every year. Given I have a budget and how much i just believe most of you opinions, i would buy that no questions asked. Especially if you bring it with a discount. Being a part of something, on top of getting the best bang for your buck would be really easy to sell. Might wanna cash in by integrating your ltt straps your selling For those who can't come though like me, I would have the tendency of just following what your building by buying on stores local to us. Cuz if theres a problem, i can just go here and ask for I am sure you are obliged to answer or other people can help me. Who knows, this can be your test to see if you can manage to have another sister company selling prebuild computers. Thanks everyone! My wife choose google wifi given all the reviews she read with promise of easy security and I can't argue with that. It seems they have good support as well. I am just actually just sad that i thought this time around we can have a usb connected to the router so we can share/watch/listen to stuff easily. O well. Anyways, ty for letting me drool on all those routers. Maybe next time we can have an alien looking one :))

yeah, right now its all over the place. I just want him to focus on one so am hoping that a computer helps or at least we have a new gadget haha. Anyways I thought, this laptop desktop competition would be easier this time. IMO, I would only choose desktop, if i can have one of those bad ass monitor and use it to the fullest. If not, like cars, unless its a lemon when you bought it, a laptop is practically better. After seeing one of linus employees using a laptop keyboard combo, maybe i am just too old and stubborn to see that it is doable Ty for all the help guys :D.

Thanks! theres a lot things there i did not consider. I just want him at an early age to focus one one thing he wanted. Chef, robotics engineer, scientist are way too far away and he really idolizes dantdm. We actually made a couple of crappy videos already he is just too shy to upload them. He is actually wanna do it cuz it looks fun for him. He does not know about editing and stuff. He just feels like creating videos and doing what his idol likes. And yup 1k pc their might cost around 1.3k here so budget pcs are most likely nearing obsolete here :)) as a parent we just want it to be practical. i actually don't want to argue about which last longer for in my personal experience it actually depends on the one using it. For example my vita was working fine and looking brand new but when my relatives borrowed it. the joystick got busted. So you can either blame sony or the user. I choose the user. When replacing parts though, I had a desktop before and its a budget build. So the psu is just enough to support it so when i bought a new card, i need to replace the psu too. Since it was old I need to replace the mobo eventually, but getting the same mobo to fit the core seems not practical cuz the cost is similar to newer mobos. So now I need to replace both mobo and cpu. The only thing that was a breeze for me to replace was hd and rams. Well actually HDs only for rams, it was ddr2 or 3 i think so I had a hard time looking for one. My original was gskill and the one I got as replacement was bare. it was ugly and i need to reset it every now and then. Given how fast technology changes, the only option I had when I experienced those problems was buy second hand. I don't want to buy second hand since I am very unlucky with them cuz it always gets busted somehow :(. But if I bought new, its not the best one. It is made by those manufacturers hoping that there would still be people like me needing old stuff new. The simplest analogy i can think of is owning a car. I still don't own a car sadly but ii think its like buying a new car. The only difference is aside from it having wear it tear, it will also become obsolete. I didn't upgrade anything when I had a desktop unless it broke or it was close to being obsolete(lowest settings is barely playable). The cost of the card was 1/4 of the build which eventually broke down too. That is why, I am now really hesitant to just jump to the idea about portability and durability. For me, it all boils down to the cost I am shedding out now. I will just figure out how to take care of it to make it last longer.
