Hi!
I always help my Buddies building new systems (gaming + light streaming, light video editing) and we have 3-4 systems / upgrades in the Pipeline that need a boost.
If I could, I would have already build those with AMD Ryzen 5600x right now (or in some cases the higher core count variants).
But we are still waiting for proper availability in Europe-Austria.
Does anyone now about 5000 Series availability, especially in the EU Area? Are there any timelines? Will we be able to get parts before Christmas? Because we plan on gaming online together and of course play cyberpunk in the holidays.
I was also looking into alternatives:
For example to go for Ryzen 3600 systems right now and upgrade to 5000's series later, when everything has settled. (Resell those 3600's 2nd hand.)
But there are also weird price spikes and availability issues here right now. The basic Ryzen 3600 should be around 170€?, but only the 3600x and 3600xt are properly available. Currently the X goes for a similar price as the XT around 240€ (this was fluctuating a lot the last weeks, so take this as rough estimates).
...and anyway it would suck, if the day we build those, suddenly 5000's series cpus. are available. This was a good move a year ago, but those not feel like it right now.
A similar idea was to build with Intel 10600k as those are great performers for gaming and are about at the same price as the 3600 xt here right now (~240€).
And, if possible, upgrade those later. ...supposedly Intel will support the next Gen CPU's as well on current mainboards: The "upcoming" "10 nm" 11000 Series.
But here we have a couple of unknowns. We don't know for sure if we really will be able to upgrade (I have zero trust on that) and we don't know how the first generation CPU's of the new architecture will be. ( https://videocardz.com/newz/intel-core-i9-11900k-rocket-lake-s-flagship-cpu-spotted )
Feedback appriciated! Thank you!
