  1. You dont seem to have an SSD in there, which I would recommend for the OS. Just look for an SSD with about 120 Gb, that should be enough for the OS and a few other programs etc. EDIT: You could get a 250gb SAMSUNG 970 M.2 for about 100$. There also are cheaper options like Kingston.
  2. Take everything I say with a grain of salt because I say more than I know: If you want to keep upgrading parts (implying that there will be a CPU upgrade coming somewhen) then I would recommend the AM4 socket by AMD, because it seems like the next generation of AMD CPUs will still be on that socket. You should consider to maybe buy used parts and then upgrade to new ones (or even used again).
  3. You are trying to build a light gaming rig which you can then upgrade till it is vr ready?
  4. A first fan pushes the air through the radiator while the second pulls it out again
  5. It is better than all HDMI other than the HDMI 2.1 when comparing the data transfer rate. Otherwise DP has a "locking" mechanism if I remember correctly while your hdmi can just disconnect when you pull on it slightly.
  6. http://gpu.userbenchmark.com/Compare/Nvidia-GTX-940M-vs-AMD-RX-Vega-8-Ryzen-iGPU/m28796vsm441833 https://www.videocardbenchmark.net/compare/Radeon-Vega-8-vs-GeForce-940MX/3895vs3453 I think that at videocardbenchmark the Vega 8 is overperforming... Do these benchmarks profit from dedicated videoram?
  7. I just checked on UserBenchmark and on Notebookcheck and the vega 8 tends to come out on top (not much though).
  8. I have seen benches of both better and a bit slower/on par. It really depends on the implementation. The dedicated graphics memory is a huge plus of course on the 940MX.
  9. If you are interested Linus has a video on it if I remember correctly.
  10. With such a tight budget I would straight go looking for an acer. Look out that you can upgrade the RAM, because you wont be getting configured 16gb RAM.
  11. Sure it the MX150 has better GPU performance, the thing is if its worth it. The Vega 8 benchmark wise should be in between the GTX 940M and the MX 150 (with both having the bonus of GDDR, instead of shared). The problem is there are no benchmarks of the E485 out right now. It has a very interesting position where it could be very interesting for university with a few older games.
  12. You dont disable it yourself. Dual channel just wont work.
