  1. If you want to save a buck, you dont need to get an intel wifi card, unless their router actually supports wifi 6, you should be fine with a generic wifi card, also 3070 is a bit overkill for 1080p, I would go with a the 3060 for slight overkill, or rx6600 for just right
  2. It looks like my board suppports up to 3466 MHZ, if I upgraded to 3200 mhz ram would that help alleviate things by a fair bit? Same cpu 6700k
  3. 6700K, I honestly am satisifed but I plan on creating a home server with jellyfin so I will need some extra cores, I plan to use my old 1060 along with it
  4. I have the money to get a new gpu and a new cpu/mobo, I can afford the ram, but if I can get away with my current kit of 2400MHZ XPG ADATA CL16 then that would be preferrable. New system specs: CPU: I5 10400 GPU: rx 6600 I just plan to game at 1080p playing new games, I know some games care more than others I just want to get a baseline idea
  5. Main games I want to play, at least in terms of upcoming, are going to be gta 6 and the new Harry Potter game, otherwise its a mix of anywhere between a year or two old such as doom eternal where i have almost no vram to spare even on the lowest of settings to over 10 year old games such as batman arkham city where I don’t need a gpu upgrade because they run fine. I can technically run new games such as cyberpunk on the lowest settings, but its not great. Also some games such as halo infinite will launch but complain the whole time due to my 3gb of vram
  6. So with gpu prices coming down to earth, i finally can move on from my 3gb 1060 that was meant to be a temporary card, im between the 3060 and rx 6600, i noticed that the 6600 beats out the 3060 in traditional rasterization, I have no interest in raytracing but I am only tempted by the 3060 due to the vram amount, at 1080p 75hz gaming is 12gb of vram overkill? I would like to run games on a mix of medium to high/ultra settings for this generation. Specs: I7 6700k @ 4.5ghz RAM: DDR4 2 x 8 GB @ 2400MHZ PSU: 600W Thermaltake TR2
  7. I forgot to mention that I have no plans for raytracing if that impacts the vram in anyway
  8. Any experience with the asus phoenix line of cards? Its the cheapest 3060 I can find at 390$ I am hearing some conflicting reviews which is a bit concerning
  9. Hi, so I finally noticed gpu prices have come back down to earth and decided that it is time to lay my 3gb 1060 to rest, I am between the rx 6600 and 3060, I noticed that in traditional rasterization the 6600 at 1080p seems to outperform, but will 8gb of vram be enough for this gen? Main games I wish to pl I tried looking at the amount of vram and basing my choice off that but it seems the ps5 doesnt exactly have dedicated vram nor does the xbox so I series systems. In terms of settings im fine with a mix of high and ultra, i dont want to spend extra money on a gpu with vram I wont need for 1080p textures Here is the other relevant specs of my pc: CPU: I7 6700K @ 4.5GHZ RAM: 16GB DDR4 2400Mhz PSU: 600w thermaltake TR2 80+ "white" label
  10. I plan to keep gaming at 1080p/75HZ. My 1060 3GB is starting to fail me in terms of needs, please note that I got a z170 board, cpu, and ram kit from a friend for free and was on the fx before this, I want to upgrade to something like the 3060TI (when one can actually buy it) but would it be overkill for 1080p? Also note that my psu is a 600w Thermaltake TR2 which has held up well but I might kick up the psu due to Ampere's higher wattage spikes
  11. I only have cable for internet, otherwise I dont even use my tvs for anything besides roku and gaming
  12. I feel like even going for an overclockable chip will help. although you should try and get more cores, though that would would need a motherboard upgrade. But the biggest thing is your gpu, the 960 just most likely cant cut it anymore
  13. SMH Linus forgot the best ever option..windows movie maker
  14. Edit: It has been 3 years, is there a way to online check the warranty?
  15. I bought the headset like 2 years ago at bestbuy, I think its past the warranty period. Also all the covid stuff going on
  16. I will be ordering a new headset after all this is over, the left swivel earcup keeps breaking, to the point where its actually coming out of the headset, I mainly just game and don't need fancy features like 7.1 surround sound, mic would be appreciated as well. I also just use these for youtube and twitch, am hardly an audiophile. I dont need things like fancy RGB either just looking for a decent headset under 70$
  17. Either AMD or Nvidia would be find I am in the 200-250$ price range right now. I am running a 6700k OC to 4.6GHZ with 16gb of RAM right now. I game at 1080p
  18. I am currently rocking an old Raidmax Viper II which served me well when I had an matx motherboard and am3+ board. I recently got a 6700k and z170-k board from my friend and while the current case works, it's time for an upgrade because the cable management is awful on this case and doesn't even have a cutout for the cpu connector. I was thinking about the phanteks p300 but the lack of proper airflow (mainly intake) pulls me off because I am running my 6700k at 4.6Ghz with a 212 black.
  19. I am upgradding from a hand me down asetek 510LC due to its high temps and was wondering which is better. I am running a 6700K currently OC at 4.2 GHZ and will maybe max out at 4.4 if I decided to go higher. For what its worth I have 2X XPG Z1 RAM which has fairly high heat spreaders
  20. My current GPU is this, I know that 3GB of VRam is currently pushing limits with games like the new tomb raider, my performance tends to be fine in games, I ususally try to go for 1080p med-high settings. I found this RX 580 for 160$ and was wondering if it would be worth the upgrade, I hardly, if ever, use features like ansel or shadowplay so I won't be needing things like those. My rest of the build is as follows: CPU: Intel core I7 6700k @4.2 GHZ GPU: MSI 1060 3GB MOBO: ASUS z170A RAM: 2X 8GB ADATA DDR4 @ 3000 Mhz PSU: Thermaltake TR2 600W ATX 12 V2.3 Power Supply TR-600CUS
  21. Yeah it is set to auto like in your pic, thanks for trying though. I guess I could reach out to msi but idk if they will have any answers
  22. Copied your fan curve and did everything you suggested, no luck I still unfortunately am stuck at the minimum fan speed of 49%
