i have 3x 120 iPPC's and 3x 140 IPPC's running between 300rpm at idle and 800rpm at load on radiators.

i never experienced any kind of hiph piched noises from them.

only when they are running at 250rpm-300rpm you can hear a very silient clicking form the motor running so slow. but that's only in the first 5-10 minutes after turning on the pc. it seems like they have to run "warm" like an engine

only that there are 8GB on an SSHD and not the tradtional 64mb or 128mb

the Seagate SSHD drives use the Flash as a Cache you can't acces it or install things to it.

buy your same GPU dead from eBay, and take the fan of of that.

and upgrade my mobo so it has onboard wifi

as it was said before the onboard sound nower days is so good you dont need a sound card.

News to me, so I looked it up...no info since September. I just read through a 70+ page forum on the X34 and the problems it's been having. So, I'm guessing Asus is not taking any chances after seeing what Acer is going through. I wouldn't be surprised if they scrap the PG348Q and start over, seeing as they use the same panels.

you could be rigth asus is a smart company maybe they wait until a new panel comes out. But that all leaves the question: What now? as you have said before. i think the answer is you have to wait.

Those are either sold out or not stocked for QC issues at all major retailers in the U.S. That goes for all ROG monitors. Only thing available here is the Acer displays.

it's pretty much the same here in germany, i got lucky and got one at release , i saw that you want to get a secound 980ti, maybe 3440x1440p is better anyway. so you could wait for the release of the Asus PG348Q (basically the X34 from ASUS) and get one instantaneously on launch

I'm rocking a ASUS PG279Q, and it's awesome! (27inch 16:9 1440p IPS  G-Sync 165hz  4ms). The 3ms tradeoff for the IPS colour richness was totaly worth it! And no tearing form 1 to 165 fps what do you want more btw; also coming from a 1080p TN 60hz panel

I would use it as my LAN-Party box so i can use my PG279Q and my desktop mouse and keyboard instead of dealing with a notebook

Yeah that's what I'm thinking. I think if your going from a 60hz to a 144hz+ monitor, your performance in FPS games is going to go up no matter if it's 2ms vs 4ms.

yep that's what i wanted to say. but i played not that much fast paced shooter's until now i think in BF4 it would be even more an advantage as in the slow Gameplay of Arma 3

BTW: 100+ fps = hz max out in BF4 so nearly double than before on 60hz

Did you notice going from 2ms to 4ms? 

the PG279Q do even feel faster but i think it's because of g-sync and the high refresh rate.

it would be a better comparison if i had a 144hz monitor before

but i recently i testet my old monitor against my father's dell 1080p ips 8 ms and i couldn't tell a diffrence, so i'm not that scared of imput lag but it should be under 10ms

So first of upgrading from 22' to 27' is like sitting in cinema in the first row, it took some to getting used to it

It's also was the first time i tried G-Sync, basically it's awesome i ran Unigine Heaven maxed out and i get like 40 fps with my GTX 980TI and it looked like 70 fps or Arma 3 because of the crap engine you only get like 50-70 fps (55% Gpu usage, 30% CPU usage) but feels so much smoother than on my old 60hz monitor. so if you get 1-165 fps in you games your super smooth with g-sync and above that i have V-sync enabled so when i play CS for example its always in the V-sync limit.

The colours look way better, not with that grey tint, like you get on TN screens.

and i think it's matching perfecly with a single 980 TI, a 3440x1440 screen would be to much for one card as far as I'm concerned.

the extra screen real estate in windows is also pretty handy you can have two websites side by side with 100% scaling and nothing ist cut of at the sides

Glad you are liking the PG279Q. What monitor were you using before?

i was using a iiyama ProLite E2210HDS. Basically a five? year old 1080p 60Hz TN 2ms, so it was a huge upgrade
